If you’ve ever struggled with articulating your thoughts in a clear way, whether at work, in a meeting or in an interview…today’s video is for you. I’ll teach you my 3 tips on how you can begin to speak with more confidence. Take a watch and let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
Linda Raynier hello Linda, your videos have helped me so much! I finally have found the job that i wanted!! :) and now i'd be great if you make a video talking about the first day at work!! Thank you!!!
Linda Raynier, thank 4 ur videos. Ive been watching ur video on how to get me the job i want with no experience. Girl i got called 4 a second .i was asked 2 come 2 a second interview. Ur amazing thank u.
01:41 - Know that you're the expert. 03:30 - Know how you tie into the bigger picture by asking smart questions. 05:28 - Know when you're not the expert.
"You are the expert"- this is something that really changed my mindset as I essentially forgot that "yes I am indeed an expect in my field" and I should focus on my abilities and not doubt myself - thank you
Linda i must admit you are an expert in what you do and i just arrived at that conclusion after watching three of your videos for the first time. I am a brand new Pharm grad looking ahead to a successful career but the fact that i lack the experience in my field makes me question myself a lot. By listening to you, i can gradually feel the boost in energy and confidence knowing that i can really achieve anything i set my mind to. I am hoping that soon i will be financially ready to work with you to achieve my career goals. Thanks a million
Excellent tips! I couldn’t agree more about all of them, especially the 3rd tip. Being on both sides of the interviewing process, I recognize that those who pretend to be experts at subjects actually sound less credible, but those who just say “I don’t know but I’m willing to learn” sound much more confident and more likely to get the job.
This is my first time coming across your video and i must say i love your video and ive learnt one or two from your videos. You just got a new subscriber 🎉
Linda you helped me in getting my last job 2 yrs ago with big 4 consulting firm. You are absolutely fantastic and excellent. I'm back in the job market and look forward to watching all your videos again. You rock. Today Jan 10 2020 I attended a consulting session lee Hetch Harrison, a consulting firm that my ex company has paid for me to attend to help me in my job search skills, and I recommend you to all the other job seekers in my class.
Hi Linda, your videos really helped me. I passed the final interview for my dream career. A career that is very different from my previous job. Thank you so much for the tips .
I watched your videos before my last job and I got the job! So you’re now my good luck omen! I am watching all your videos again before my job interview tomorrow 🙈
I watched a lot of videos on this in the last while and this one is the clearest. Tone of voice is my big one. My voice starts to shake sometimes when I'm asked something I know inside out.
Thanks for these useful tips. Confident communication can unlock almost every opportunity. It is vital to be strategic, intentional and bold in communicating one's thoughts and ideas. It may take a while for people to get used to it but confident communication is absolutely rewarding.
A big thank you. I watched a bunch of your videos last weekend and had an interview a few hours later. I think it went really well, the interviewer scheduled me for an in-person interview for tomorrow even before I asked. Unfortunately, the department manager will not be in the office, so he will call me to reschedule. Will update later!
I was going through a tutorial hell for questions to be asked in interview, I have one ,tomorrow and finally I got this one. May good god bless you with everything he has.. Every single question i have been thinking about interviews are there in your tutorials, at one place along with the perfect clear and concise answers and not to mention easy to remember the tips. The key to success is not to memorize , just understand the do's and don'ts. Thanks a million times. I don't know if I will get through or not but I do understand a lot about interview techniques now after watching your videos. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH Linda. You are a god send for me.
Love your videos! Would you consider doing a video for moms who are getting back into the workforce? I seem to struggle with interviews because I can’t stop bringing up things about my kids! They’ve been so central in my life for 4 years it’s hard to find examples to elaborate on that don’t in some ways come back to my kids. Or right off the bat I explain my work history gap because of my kids. Thx!
Hi Linda ,, A hearty greetings from Kurdistan_northern iraq,, Honestly I adore your teaching way and also I highly Appreciate your great Efforts for making such A wonderful and useful videos ,,really you are a strongest, bravest, prettiest and wisest English Teacher I've ever Seen in all my own life,,
Thanks, lisenting your advice gave me the courage to left a crappy job and now improve my self presentation. I've been working in this amazing job now where I'm challenged and valued and I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart :')
Hi Linda, Thank you for the review, I have also experienced that using Powerpoint slides in a teleprompter with bullet points helps you to speak confidently and maintain eye contact with audience, because you always have the whole concept in mind.
Thank you so much for posting videos and helping a lot of people struggling in finding jobs. Can you make a video to make some suggestions for new graduates with no experience to find jobs? especially for non-native speakers or international students?
I'm really having a hard time when speaking in English especially on interviews because I'm not fluent in speaking it. Though I can speak and understand I'm just really nervous in speaking in front of other people because of insecurity and I didn't want to commit mistakes for example, if my grammar is correct. Cause here in our country, grammar is a big deal.
I have spoken English my whole life, but when I learned formal English, it was still rather confusing, so I understand why you could have trouble. I like downloading the free electronic version of the Oxford American Dictionary in Settings in Apple devices, I find that it helps, it provides you with Word Links that tell you which particular words are commonly used with others and gives you a better understanding. But your English is good, the most important thing to have is self-confidence and to be relaxed.
Hi yel, I have actually done a video on how to pass the interview for non native English speakers. You can watch it if you go to my channel. Let me know if that helps you.
Linda!! You helped me get a great job!!!!! Thank you so much. But I have to say I used to say I worked too hard as my “What I need to improve on question” 😭😭😭😭
Is just as if you’re talking to me directly because I don’t know why am always shy when am in public and have been looking for a way to overcome it but lucky enough I just saw your videos today and so interested in it and please I will be so happy if you can give me more advice about it thank you so much 🙏🙏
Haha yes that is totally right but then I'm still hoping for the best luck!..depends on the interviewer how he/she feel you during the interview, attitude bases is one thing that needs to observed on how you behave and being true to your self during the interview.
I have the weird thing when i talk majority of my words pronounce with a sh,ch,....some ppl call it a list tongue or something like that....and i stutter too
Thank you for all your wonderful tips, I love watching your videos, they are very helpful, clear, and to the point. I have a big interview tomorrow, I will take all your advises with me and will be going in with a lot more confidence!
Very good question ! I feel like as a kid I used to be scared of blanking out in a test, so the practice questions and talking points really helped remove the fear. Same for interviews. Same for public speaking. Practice till they’re second nature. You know the content, you got this !
Know that interview is just a conversation not the end of the world (it's not like your life and death depends on that). And of course, rehearse it, meditate (stop mind chatter and connect with your inner wisdom) Familiarize yourself with an organization and managers and employees there beforehand. I mean, visit that organization and meet managers (if possible) and employees (your potential coworkers) before the interview date. So that it won't be overwhelming. So that you already know much about the organization. By knowing I mean the vibes, the essence by physically visiting the place, not collecting concrete information which you can find on internet.
I would honestly like to hear from those who dislike the video just so that I see that which I don't seem to see....I believe @Linda is doing the same....otherwise, this stuff is solid..Tip No.2 is their mother!
Honestly, in my experience, once you do not know enough about a certain topic, it felt as though, they judge you right away and you are afraid to approach anybody.
Love your videos. How do you get around a team of managers that do not welcome the idea of asking questions? At my current company, I find that the normal way of doing business is to just do his or her job. I often feel bottle capped.
I honestly think if your in a company that dosent allow you to express your ideas or questions. This is stunting your growth and it might be time for a career change. I will be doing a video soon on when to know when to leave your job.

Hi Linda, do you have a video on what questions to ask during a panel interview?
01:41 - Know that you're the expert.
03:30 - Know how you tie into the bigger picture by asking smart questions.
05:28 - Know when you're not the expert.
Thanks
Thank you!

I love the first tip. It's important to be aware that negative thoughts can affect confidence so that you can overcome them!
When Linda smiles the whole world smiles. Thank you for your work, being concise & improving me.

Fear of losing something will lower your confidence. The day you kick fear out of your mind then you will naturally become confident.
Exactly
Absolutely correct!
Agreed! You on't have to be an expert at everything. Always be open to learning
she should be a psychologist; she's very good at helping ppl in understanding and empowering themselves
I think its mainly anxiety that always tries to prevent you from speaking confidently
Yes! 😭
Relaxation tecniques, meditation can help
I have this problem
Same here too
True
Really useful tips! I work in an very strict hierarchical environment where it's easy to lose confidence at times
Exactly what I needed to hear- a great reminder and good tips for myself!

KGJ T It looks like you’re not very good at English grammar either, which could be a contributing factor.

You have been super helpful!!!!!!
Linda, what if your mind just goes BLANK!! ?? I find I have a bad memory - especially in job interviews...
Eat Almonds. They are good for memory. Also write it down beforehand whatever you think your interviewers gonna ask.
Meditate and learn relaxations tecniques to apply before an interview for example
Heyy thats my problem..my mind goes blank.
Very good question ! I feel like as a kid I used to be scared of blanking out in a test, so the practice questions and talking points really helped remove the fear. Same for interviews. Same for public speaking. Practice till they’re second nature. You know the content, you got this !
