This is gonna be the game I always remember Philip Rivers for. He always played his heart out and put us in a position where we could win.
This one was great, but the one against Baltimore this year or a few years before was incredible as well.

This is one of them for sure. But the playoff game against the Patriots when Rivers played with a Torn ACL and still held his own against Brady. That's the game that made me respect him as our QB.
Mike Williams showed why he was a 1st round pick.

I miss him too. But we have a new QB. Herbee he will also bring excitement and already is I'm glad I'm a charger fan and have been for a while. People use to make fun of me cause I'm a charger fan. But this is part of being a sports fan. I hung in there all the way and will always be a charger fan.

I remember watching this game on my television and it makes me miss Phillip Rivers play. I know at times he’s given games away with his decision making, but for the most part he’s a pretty good player in this league

man I forgot just how good my Chargers were that year. I really thought they could go all the way. I will always defend Philip Rivers, he always played with so much grit and heart!
Derwin James got hurt before the playoffs. The defense was really good that year we had like5 defense players selected for all pro that year.
They were always good but never great. They could always win one or two games against the best teams but inevitably losing in the end.
Chargers we’re so good that year, they went 12-4 playing in a soccer stadium. Could’ve possibly won the super bowl if they actually had home field advantage.

Going into the 4th a guy offered to buy me a beer he was feeling it at the bar so got a jug for the table. After Rivers threw that touchdown the jug of beer was on the floor and he was storming out.
Rivers lobbing those touch passes into tight windows is something I still miss. Herbert needs to add this to his game.

I'll never forget this game! I watched the entire game and held on to hope they could possibly get back into the game. Everyone else had already given up and went home. When they scored and decided to go for two, I was so nervous. Good memories! I miss Philip Rivers but now we have Justin Herbert! Go Chargers!

I let my son stay up late on east coast to finish watching this game years ago! My wife came out of room yelling at us to be quiet because was so late as we were jumping around living room and screaming with happiness! That game was so exciting and great memory for my son and I. Being a SD native and Chargers fan my whole life my sons first jersey as a 1yr old was #17 Rivers one of best,toughest,exciting QB’s of all time Chargers history!

Only because we saw the Cheating Pats every year even when we were 14-2 and favorites to win the Super Bowl. We met the Pats who even LaDamian mentioned they knew every play we called almost even ones we never tried in games that whole year! Those were the KNOWN CONFIRMED years of the Pats cheating 110%!!!

It was perfect. I loved Seeing how hyped kelce and mahomes were, being 2 of the nfls best players & the leagues "golden boys," as they pumped out the loudest crowd in the NFL...on a CRUCIAL 4TH DOWN, then watching rivers throw a ballsy, hair raising, yet perfect pass to benjamin to silence the crowd...wow. rivers had ice in his veins, he just had alot of bad football luck and was a little to sporatic and careless with the ball at the end of the game sometimes.

I was at this game. Lifelong Chiefs fan living in upstate NY. Obviously the ending wasn’t great, but the experience was. I purchased 2 tickets for $75 including surcharge. I bought them in the offseason because they were going to induct Tony Gonzalez into the ring of honor. Nobody knew Mahomes was going to be as great as he was this season. Also Chris Jones got a sack for the 10th consecutive game which tied an NFL record. He ended up getting one the following week as well which broke the record.
Back in the playoffs! Bolt gang!

Phillip could place a pass as good as anyone. He was an A- talent. Can you imagine if he had Mahomes legs. May have been one of top ever. He sees the field amd places the ball and anticipates better than 99% of all NFL quarterbacks

This is a great game to watch for Chargers fans who say Herbert is already better than Rivers. Look how precise Rivers is when he throws, he can loft it, dart it, whatever. Having a bunch of bad teams can underrate someone highly. 17 HOF

Phil had for 3 years an entire team, but he's played the AFC Championship game with no knees, and without LT and Gates.
After 2009, The Spanos refused to rebuild the OL and Phil's never got a real chance. Chargers had one of the worst OLs of the league for a decade. 2013, the exception.
A great player that unfortunately didn't have an owner to support him. Very unprofessional ownership.

This is my favorite Chargers game I’ve ever watched. I was born in 99 and became a fan when I was about 8 or 9. This game happened on the day me and my best friend were flying home from college for Christmas break. Since it was a Thursday night game, the airport had the game on every TV. When we got on the plane it was 28-14 in the 4th quarter and we assumed we would lose. Once we landed we immediately checked the score and saw it was 28-29 and realized not only had we won but we went for 2. We both started freaking out. As soon as I got home I watched the highlights over and over again. It was a great way to start the break. Funny thing is I’ve been to about 7 games in person (some of them were amazing over time games). I’ve even met Herb and Ek and other players at training camp. But still this game is for some reason the most special Chargers memory I have. Kinda sad 😂 but that’s life as a Chargers fan.
