You’d often see him partying all night in the gas lamp. I went to the playoff game Jackson was hungover vs Revis. He had gotten a DUI the night before a home Divisional playoff game. It was crazy he looked so bad, and even kicked a flag back at an official. Another victim of CTE?

On a side note, if Jackson would have remained a charger I think the chargers would have had more success. He was a force as a deep threat and that is something they didn’t really have after him until Kennan Allen was drafted.

@@Ambivalence18 It's really inexplicable. & despite the fact that this was in the QB Decade that had Manning, Brady Favre _AND_ Rodgers, none of them were in their division. You had the so-so Chiefs, the terrible Rams teams & the default division-winning Denver Broncos before Manning came over.
You can't even blame bad coaching like those Bills teams that lost superbowls because Marv Levy was a senile old coot who kept thinking that the only way to win games was to run the ball until the opposing D was softened up, _then_ you go for long passes??!?
The One Thing I'll be forever grateful to Mike Martz for was the '00 Rams & their long-passing offense. Unfortunately, now the NFL has more teams than quality QBs & they need to bring back short passes & run-heavy offenses, but it's like no one knows HOW to anymore. Andy Reid, despite winning & despite the fact that he's simply calling plays, not running them can't stick to that strategy. I'm amazed it doesn't kill the Chiefs because it hurts their play, especially without Davante Adams.

      @dizzydwarf502 Год назад +1

@@dcatura1 As much as I loved LT, he was also nowhere to be found during one of the big playoff game vs Patriots because of a twisted ankle, meanwhile Rivers was playing with a broke rid and torn MCL. The only season in the playoffs where LT was with Rivers and had over 100 yards rushing, and that was 06. In 07/08/09 he didn't get 100 yards rushing in playoffs.... and in 07 that was counting all 3 games combined, a total of 75 yards..... so when it mattered most, LT didn't show.
Coaching didn't help that it changed every 3-4 years during Rivers career as a Charger. Especially getting that fucking terrible Anthony Lynn, he was worst HC I've ever seen for the Chargers by a long shot. (Charger fan of 33 years)
Not to mention never have any protection up front, he never once even had an average pass blocking O-Line as a Charger, but got one when he went to Colts finally.
Multiple playoffs lost by a missed FG from a kicker who didn't miss a single FG during the regular season even.
And some of the worst STs in NFL history never helped either (check out 2010 season, literally the worst STs in NFL history, single handedly lost the 5 games in that year).

They never even attempted to protect him up front, they waited until 3 days after they let him go to the Colts to finally make multiple moves up front for pass protection.... They decided it was more important to protect a QB they didn't even know who it would be yet, instead of one of the best of all time. (They made the moves for protecting the line thinking they would get Tua, that's why they got people to protect the right side of the line, back side for lefty, then they ended up with Herbert instead, a righty)

He was good while heblaste, but he just didn't get the help he deserved, management let him down. Could have been multiple championships. And they never really went after any key free agents, considering how bad they were at drafting talent. It's mind boggling.

I was at this game. First regular season game I ever attended at arrowhead. My dad and I sat wayyy up stairs. It. was. freezing. I was begging my dad to take us home in the 4th quarter when the chiefs were up 21-10. We got home just in time to see the chiefs botch the onside kick and give up the game winning touchdown.
Man those were the days. The chiefs weren’t very good but this 2008 team played with a ton of heart. They had a lot of young players. The rookies were Brandon Flowers, Brandon Carr, Brandon Albert, and of course Jamaal Charles. They only won 2 games but they played a lot of games close.
To this day it’s the only chiefs game I’ve ever left early. But i don’t regret it. it was freezing cold. Lol.
The chiefs quarterback was Tyler Thielen. It’s a blessing to see Patrick Mahomes play every week. I like to think we suffered through these years so we could be rewarded with this new era of Andy Reid and Mahomes.

Watching that game I was in disbelieve.... not about the 2nd half though lol. I was feeling confident, but didn't really believe the Chargers were winning 27-0, until that last 2 mins when they finally scored a TD to make it 27-7.... that moment I just felt like the Chargers were going to somehow lose it... the entire 2nd half just proved my feeling right.

Phil was great but could you imagine Justin with ladamian, Jackson, Floyd, and gates ? Astronomical numbers!

He wouldn't have nearly as high of numbers as River did. Herbert is unable to do much without protection, Rivers had his entire career without protection up front. Herbert throws only bullets so he has to wait for someone to get open, without protection you can't do that. Rivers threw perfect timing passes, without protection he would throw it to the exact open spot in the defense which would throw the receivers open. They are even comparable in skill as QB at this point in Herbert's career.

If san diego doesn't recover the onside kick, which wouldn't be surprising considering their special teams failures in their history, the broncos get in after losing 3 straight

Anybody watch the stat lines at the bottom? Lol. I don’t think one QB threw over 300 yards. The game has changed so much. Andre Johnson made some fantasy owners happy with 11 rec and 200 yards 😂

I'm still waiting for Herbert to show the ability to win a game late, putting the team on his shoulders like Rivers did week in and week out. Hoping it happens, because so far, if it's late in the game and we are down, I just don't have any confidence in Herbert........ yet :)
