Didn't show the one in the Super Bowl? I know they lost but that was the first opening kick TD in the Super Bowl. The man changed the game. Hall of Fame is much deserved
That's pretty embarrassing lol
@blpinnow66 prime Payton Manning vs Rex Grossman.. not that embarrassing lmfao
Oh no. Sorry. I mean that the Bears forgot to include it in this highlight video.
Maybe because post season does not count towards the return record.
@@MrGillard maybe
He is who we thought he was. Hall of Famer.
😂
🏆
I’ll never forget that game. So glad I witnessed it live.
Broncos fan here... one of my favorite players.
I just noticed vast majority of his TDs were at home. Never be another Hester, much deserved HOF status. Now Tillman needs to get in as well
Watching this, I never realized how absurd it is to see the amount of times Hester BBQ'd the Vikings. 🤣
Chris Klue probably *still* has nightmares
The Rams too
Everyone cooks my Vikes. Everyone's best highlight is against them. Mike Vick???
And the Packers especially them cheese heads I hate em Ha
At least you have all those sick Peterson highlights with him blowing past defenders or running them over.@@Dreamkins
"What A Punt"
16 Seconds Later
"Hester will take it the distance"
😂😂 he was damn near automatic
Exactly, lol.
Look at those vicious blocks and relentless effort on special teams! That group took pride in it's role
oh 100%, they were really good!! then you add hester's lighting speed and jukes on top!!! his record will NEVR be broken with the lame rule change.
@vdawggie 💯 They took pride playing such a pivotal role in the game's momentum, knowing they're blocking for a phenom...
Momentum is everything.
look at the block by #52 at @3:30 had the key block and took his man 5 yards into the bench just to make sure Hester had a clear lane to cut back to. Special Teams brilliance.
They were actually terrible blocks. That's what makes the returns even more amazing.
When you've got a guy this tough and with this kind of breakaway speed the special teams squad is pretty motivated to work hard on returns.
Where's the Super Bowl kickoff???
The teams don't have the rights to post-season video.
Thanks for the information
@@jeremygumke5150 well that sucks.
@@jeremygumke5150 Wow, that's insane hahaha.
@@jeremygumke5150that is stupid as fuck
No talking, no intro !! Straight to it !!! I love videos like this!!!
"But first we need 10 minutes of context to explain why Devin Hester was such a great kick returner."
@@waynetompkins3006too many videos that are like that, “I’m not an expert but here what I think”
Hall of Famer Devin Hester you are ridiculous!!!
The GOAT returner. Absolutely deserves to be in the hall.
There will never be another like him
Yeah thank god we got somebody with less career TDs than Latavius Murray into the HOF.
Honestly it's soo impossible to do what he did u can argue in the many different ways & scenarios he faced & had success in every way , his career as a 1 trick pony is the greatest career ever as a 1 trick pony
@@playboysammy326Justin Tucker would like a word.
Greatest return man of all time. Goosebumps watching these highlights.
The blocking in the last play was so good
Honestly in every single one. I loved playing special teams as a kid. These dudes made it a lot easier for Hester tha molestah
Greatest Returner of all Time
One man that changed the special teams game for the nfl forever, Hester is the best return man and deserves to be in the hof, period!
Then the NFL ruined it with all their "player safety" rules
That Rams game was historic!
The one at 4:08 still amazes me.
The punter makes every effort to punt away from Hester, he's surrounded by Vikings players, and still takes it all the way. It's like no matter how teams prepped for him, he still had a chance to make you pay.
Even the caster was just laughing
besides the athleticism and speed, he just had an instinct for making cuts and finding lanes. that one in particular was a thing of beauty.
@@bastokrepublic yeah, you just CANNOT teach that.
When the caster just says wow and can't get another word out you know you witnessed greatness
I'll never forget the legit confusion in that announcer's voice when Hester was at the OPPOSITE 30 in that Denver game (5:28). He KNEW Hester was headed to his second TD that day, with 70 yards to go. Hester just flummoxed people. He bamboozled you. He was an offense unto himself.
And the way the Bears blocked for him was beautiful - Brendon Ayanbadejo, Hunter Hillenmeyer - dudes went full tilt.
It was no fluke that so many returns were penalty-free. Dave Toub was the Special teams coach and has a successful record.
You can't deny it though, his speed and vision with the cuts he made were unnatural. Dave Toub was a great coach, using starters on the kick teams is unheard of, but Hester was RIDICULOUS.
As a kid who grew up loving the bears, I really didn't know what I was seeing when I watched Hester. Now I fully realize just how incredible he was. Welcome to the HOF, my favorite bear of all time. You earned it.
Yea he's my favorite Bear of all time too
LEGEND
He made it look easy, so smooth and seeing the whole field
The smoothest, fastest man alive back there. Every time they kicked it to em you felt like he was gonna score 🐐
Best. Kick Returner. Of. All-time.
Bears deserved a ring VS. the colts , that team was stacked!
Except the QB
One of the fuckin best teams ever to never win
this makes me happy, this man was my childhood, and it was a dream to see him in the HOF, now it came true, thank you Devin Hester 💙🧡🐻⬇️
Devin Hester, YOU ARE RIDICULOUS!
You are finally a HALL OF FAMER!
I watched his whole career in a special time of my life… he is a unicorn and that era was more joy than heartbreak, even though we lost the SB in 2006, we all know who had the best team… magic and Anytime was legendary, IS a living Legend.
Losing Tommie Harris on defense was bad news, dude was a monster.
@@TheSeeker1960 with Tommie and Mike Brown, all we needed was defense and we won games! That's how good the 06 Bears were. Right up there with 85
When the Coach is shaking his head like I can't BELIEVE this guy..
You da man 👌
The 561 West Palm Beach/Riviera Beach area is proud of him.
Where is the Super Bowl return? Congrats to the GOAT of return men. 🐻 down
One of the greatest NFL kick returners of all time and still is Hester was phenomenal 😮🎉
There's something about that Chicago#23, thank you Hester, YOU ARE RIDICULOUS! Thank you for all the memories. You carried my childhood and I loved watching you every Sunday!!!!
I'm not even a Bears fan, and those were awesome. 😂
Devon Hester was electrifying on Kick Offs.
The great ones make it look so easy. Congratulations Dev. 👍🏽😁
5:50 "Are your memories that short?" LMAO
so glad he's finally in the hall!
I was at that game against the Chiefs. Devin Hester was indeed ridiculous!
Devin Hester is the best kick returner all time 🐐🐐
Thats nothing short of spectacular 🟠⚪🔵
1:55 I was at this game with my father, the sound of the stadium erupting at 2:06 doesn’t do justice on how loud Soldier Field was.
I miss those times with my dad.
The most exciting player in Bears history!
He sure was ridiculous
He was a best eye to running to running to touch down return ..best ever in history 💪💪🦵🦵🏃♀️🏃♀️
That switch from SD to HD at 3:20 is fantastic.
Proud to be a Bears fan back then, now and always 🐻🧡 Bear down! 🧡🐻
you missed the super bowl opening kickoff return against the colts.
The way he sliced and diced through special team defenses was unmatched. Super fluid running.
I was a ticket checker at all of those games in Chicago. To see those returns and hear those crowds in person you can never forget. HOFer Fasho!!!
His vision and ability to find the seams was crazy. Once he saw it was big return. Even if he didn’t score a td it was big return
This guy is the best return man I have ever seen and I have been watching the NFL since the late 60s. The dude had the perfect balance of speed and vision. Great video. I'm glad they put him in the HOF because if you are the best at your position and that's all you played, just judge him on that alone, and he was the best at returns.
Everyone did their job on that kick off team the bears was phenomenal on PR/KR
GOAT returner…all these years later and I’m still stunned 😳
Devin Hester and Dante Hall were so electrifying and fun to watch.
This is like the most BEARS video production ever
I'm glad he's going to the hall of fame, I used to return kicks with him in Madden all the time
Perfect balance between speed and strength at his position. Dude will always be a legend
HOF, about damn time!!! 1 of 1 greatest returner man to ever play. Coach Prime even said he was #2 to Devin. Congrats Devin. Whole heartily! Thank you so much from making so many years watching my Bears exciting. Oh btw, your right. At least for me, when the kicks and punts occurred during your time, bathroom breaks were not an option. Your induction made the die hard truly happy. No one more deserving imo.
Slippery as an eel. Great to see them lol. Kudos to his blockers for being with him most of the time. The ones against GB are especially satisfying. Congratulations to the hall of fame. We miss ya in Chicago.
Very satisfying 👍👍👍
Devin Hester: The best returner ever. It's not even close. And he had so many called back too
You just had to have been there to see and feel it. Every return had electricity in the air with anticipation for his performance. He is legit one of those players that I can tell my kids “I’m glad I was alive to see”.
My favorite was the short field goal by NY. I love that one. And I love the way Hester could light up a crowd.
Short FG? Was a 52 yarder.
The kick was too short and therefore could be returned. @@mattst.germain4023
He is the kind of player the hall of fame is made for. It is not for "stat kings" only. He changed the game. Definitely changed the Bears for a few years. And out of all NFL stats, his record of kick returns for TDs is probably the one least likely to be beaten. The rules have changed to all but eliminate kickoff returns. For player safety is what they say. I can't say the stats aren't there, but I have been watching the NFL for 41 years, and I very rarely saw serious injuries on kick returns. People get obliterated on over-the-middle passes, QBs on blind sacks, and routine tackles where players on the same team make awkward contact.
100% game changer
He was amazing! Thanks for putting this together!
OMG ……what great memories. He was awesome!
I forgot how dominant he was! 🤯
I don't know if we'll ever see another return man like Hester!
Real tears💪🏾 favorite player ever💯 congratulations hall of famer
🐐🐐
I watched every single one of your returns live. You are truly electrifying to watch. Go bears!
So many of these are go-ahead TD's, so clutch!
I am sooo happy he made it to the HOF!!!!! WELL DESERVED!
as someone who was born in 1995 hester might be one of the most important bears in me developing my fandom. happy for him. thanks for the memories hester!
When you’ve watched about 6 or 7 returns for tds and your clip time still has 6mins of footage to play😳 DH in his own class
Aww as a 🐻 fan this type of stuff brings me some type of joy
Congrats to Devin, I remember that Lions game thought the Bears were going to lose then Devin runs it 97 yds for TD Bears Win! Bear Down!
He love that Deion Sanders high step dance Deion say he love them Florida dogs his footwork crazy going 20mph
So glad Devin finally got in. A true Hall of Famer Devin Hester is. He was long overdue. I don't think you can compare anyone that electrified the game like he did. That's why opposing teams were afraid to kick to him. He deserves it!! You left out the opening Superbowl kick return.
One of the most exciting players to ever play the game.
Not only blazing speed, but the strength to shrug off tackles. Also, great vision and courage going into the teeth of the coverage team.
Greatest return man of all time. Will be a while till we see another this good.
Deion best punt returner, Hester best kick returner
Devin Hester is kick ass. Also, that super Bowl return that Hester did really deserves to be on hwere too.
I remember they had him at 99 speed on madden for awhile. Definitely something else
The days fr
Even on NCAA Football he was an Impact Player(white circle) when he was just ‘CB #4’ lol
Awesome!!!!!! Straight awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so hot when he stopped returning for that long ass stint. He wanted to solidify himself as receiver or whatever it was but it was a long ass minute in his career he stopped returning which makes it even more insane!
Punks and kickoff returns for me are the most exciting plays in football
Congrats on the hall of fame! Absolutely deserved and one of the most incredible special team players ever. Cemented as the goat because he was so good they had to change to rules to stop it. So happy for him
I remember his first preseason game in San Francisco in 2006. He was on the sideline on a exercise bike, me and my cousin were shouting down at him that he had big shoes to fill wearing number 23 which was worn by Jerry Azumah the year before and he was a great returner himself. He pointed at both of us nodding his head up in down confidently like watch what’s coming. Little did we know he would be the greatest ever and a hall of famer! Congratulations Devin!
He probably thought you were talking about Michael Jordan 😂
THEY'LL NEVER BE ANOTHER DEVIN HESTER! JUST HIM.
You forgot to include the most important return.
I'm not even a Bears fan but I remember those days tuning in to see the Bears play to see if Hester returns another TD. HOF truly deserved.
I wish they showed more camera angles like 5:26, where you can see the entire field (so you see what Hester sees when he catches the kick). Unbelievable that he can find a seam in some of those plays!!
That fact they left the Super Bowl kick out must be a mental error but somebody! They caught do a whole other video with near returns that either came back because of penalty or he got tripped up at the end. Really could have 10 more! Those were great times
yo i don’t care what no one say the blocking for this man was elite
Dave Toub, the special teams coach for the Bears during the Lovie Smith era, is arguably one of the best ST coaches ever.
Only an elite players can hit those holes like Hester, it takes real speed
The dude single handedly changed the game forever. When you talk about guys who changed football, that were the greatest of all time. Hester is in that conversation right at the beginning. I watched all of these returns live, the week after it happened, and again just now and still am blown away at his talent. Goosebumps. You know kickers and punters still wake up at night having a dream they are kicking and hear “and Hester back for the return”.
Incredible... RIDICULOUS even! 🐐
Never gets old.
This makes me so happy. Congratulations on your selection for Hall of Fame induction, Devin Hester!
🙌🏽🙌🏽🐐
Bro teams used to avoid kicking to this man underrated wide receiver as well! Hell yea HOF 23 ❤️🔥🔥🔥
Legend
I don't know how they had the hubris to keep kicking to him.
