It was a privilege watching Devin Hester play. I will never forget watching the opening kick-off for a TD against the Colts. 1 in a million. The greatest of all-time.
i was privileged enough to watch him near the end of his time on the Bears. Once Peyton Manning retired i stopped watching NFL almost completely except for playoff time
I went to elementary school with Deebo. We played for JFK Middle School in Rivera Beach, FL. Devin was dunking a basketball in 8th grade! We played toss up and tackle in elementary school and we couldn't catch him. I've watched him destroy track meets and set records. Bro, I love you and am so proud of you. Where we from, you don't make it like many but growing up in Rivera Beach... It says so much about your brother, Pooh and your mother. All of our coaches acting as father figures and your extended brothers including myself. We know you idolized Deion and wanted to walk in his footsteps. You did that fam! We love you bro! Thanks for allowing to say I grew up, played ball and was a friend of Hall of Fame Gold Jacket Wearing beast ❤
Devin Hester was a class act. I met him once in a Golden Corral during his rookie year when I was in 6th grade and I was so nervous when I saw him, but he was kind enough to sign an autograph for me. He literally made my year 😅
We literally couldn’t score. He was our offense some days. Even if he didn’t score he changed the field position because no one wanted to kick to him or he got us in the red zone
As a kid growing up. Never seen a more impactful player. Our offense was awful and we had the lowest qb rating of any quarterback to make a superbowl I believe. Hester was unreal. Can’t miss tv when the bears were returning a kick.
That shi is actually crazy wen u think about it. Its only a handful of players that good enough to flip a field one way or another. Primetime is like the only other one i can think of rite now. I kno it had to be frustrating asl to be given great field position and still not be able to score lol. Been there before
Yep, and Grossman - cutler couldn't capitalize on it...I wasn't big on caleb williams, but after that first drive in Buffalo...I might be a believer 😮😅
The GREATEST kick returner of All Time. Hester was a game changer and would have been insane for him to play in the new kickoff system in today's NFL. Great video! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can’t believe this video didn’t mention his last two games. Signed off the street by Seattle for the playoffs. In his last NFL game, he had a78 yard and 50 yard return against…the Falcons.194 total return yards…in his last game!!
As a Chicago native and lifelong Bears fan congrats Devin Hester! Well deserved, there was always such anticipation during every single kickoff and punt return during those seasons he played for the Bears, you literally felt like he was going to score every time if the ball was kicked to him.
My dad is probably the biggest Bears fan I know. I remember that SB like yesterday, and my dad was losing his mind when Devin took it to the house. Congrats Devin. Im a Washington Commanders fan, but gotta respect Hester
As a kid growing up I absolutely LOVED the return game and the explosive returns. Hester was lightning up college football with guys like Ted Guinn Jr. And I knew he would be special in the NFL and boy he did not dissappoint. Greatest return man of all time. He could turn a entire game around in the blink of a eye!
Always been a big fan of Devin Hester. This video shed light on his great character, humbleness and humility. Congratulations to the greatest kick return specialist of all time and a great man!
I have never felt an energy like that SB kick off return like I did that day. Fortunate to be able to be there to see an and feel it. Gold looks good on you Devon 🐻⬇
LOL as a Colts fan I'll never forget seeing the replay and seeing Vinatieri put his head down knowing that Devin Hester was about to score goat return specialist and well deserved hall of fame inductee
I knew he was gonna take the opening kickoff home in the SB, I remember jumping out of excitement as he returned it. I was a big canes fan growing up, Devin always was one of favorite players. Even before he was in the league.
First football play I can remember watching that made me love the game forever was that kick return I had the Devin Hester jersey when I was younger wore it to every picture day
I live in SoFla, grew up in Chicago, and went to every one of Hester's home games at the Orange Bowl. He was the best, ever. When he got drafted by my beloved Bears, I thought I was dreaming! My favorite 'Canes player of all-time and my second-favorite Bear (after Walter Payton).
The ultimate football player whatever you need he could deliver... Cb Wr Kr Pr i seen him block a field goal and score off that just a baller top 10 cane all time... Devin Hester
As a Vikes fan, those years while he played in Chicago were nervous times. 3rd down never meant so much! I remember the game where he and Adrian Peterson put on a show! That was so fun!
Growing up in Palm Beach County and seeing Devin play amongst all the other Palm beach county high school greats was something people to this day don’t believe me when I say it. Congrats my boy! Still mad he didn’t suit up to cover Santonio Holmes when they played Glades Central.
Choirs done. Homework done. Then outside to play till night fall 🥰 great job to the mother and the structure she formed. Created great men who went on to achieve great things. Took notes this generation
Teams literally refused to kick to him. Beast

Higher than 1 in a million with him returning. At least 5% chance
lol that's sad to watch football only for a kickoff return

The return player in NFL history. Mr. Hester brought me such a great joy on many Sundays as a Bears fan. Salute and congrats!
@16:16 the soundtrack is called Heart of Victory composed by Brian Delgado. In case anyone desired the track.
Hester was the only reason why I picked the Bears in Madden Franchise Mode. In my opinion he was the best player on the game. Dude was a cheat code
He really was a cheat code!! I used to go to practice mode and do kickoff returns, I’d return like 33% of my returns with hester he was insane
My favorite player as a kid, I was 10 years old watching the Super Bowl when he took it back on the opening kickoff 💪🏽
Seeing that Super Bowl kick return live at the game was one of the greatest memories I have with my dad. Thank you, Devin.
