Shaun Phillips was like the only good player. On offense, LT become a non-factor and we no longer had Chris Chambers. Yet, they won close games and were 13-3. Mainly because of Rivers, Gates, Jackson, and a surprisingly good O-line. But heading into the playoffs, I really had no faith with that defense and lack of running game. I saw that first round exit coming.

This year gets me more than these damn 4 and 5 win seasons we’ve been having. To me it seems like our defense has been missing a piece or two that hasn’t made us elite. This year I think is going to be one of the best teams we’ve had. A fast covering linebacker in the draft, 3 pro-bowl cornerbacks, arguably the best safety in the game, arguably a top 3 edge rushing duo, and added a double teamer in Linval. I hope that these 2nd and 3rd year players can step up and make this defense scary ⚡️⚡️
The season goes that LT makes history we go 14-2 and just because the guy who intercepted the ball from Brady felt like running with it instead of going down to chew the clock we loss to the pats and then we cry because this was the only season the chargers could have won the super bowl.

This reminds me more of the 1998 Minnesota Vikings in there league's championship game with the screw up being kicker Gary Anderson. The 2006 Chargers screw up not a kicker but instead line backer Marlin Macree. Both those games were never blowouts but ended in 3 point victories. The 2019 Ravens game was a complete blowout, not even close to these two games.
As a packers fan I was rooting for both you guys and the ravens and as a team the chargers were the best besides the 2014 packers to not win sb this century and the ravens was the best defense not to win a sb and did their best vs manning

This year gets me more than these damn 4 and 5 win seasons we’ve been having. To me it seems like our defense has been missing a piece or two that hasn’t made us elite. This year I think is going to be one of the best teams we’ve had. A fast covering linebacker in the draft, 3 pro-bowl cornerbacks, arguably the best safety in the game, arguably a top 3 edge rushing duo, and added a double teamer in Linval. I hope that these 2nd and 3rd year players can step up and make this defense scary ⚡️⚡️

That wasn't the year Rivers got hurt. It was the next year when rivers tore his acl and played new england in the afc championship and lost 21-12

The season goes that LT makes history we go 14-2 and just because the guy who intercepted the ball from Brady felt like running with it instead of going down to chew the clock we loss to the pats and then we cry because this was the only season the chargers could have won the super bowl.
The only time LT was ready AND healthy for a playoff run..

Reliving this still hurts. Next two opponents would've been:
1. Colts -- Chargers had their number (2005 they spoiled the Colts perfect win record, 2007 they intercepted Manning SIX times in one half, 2008 playoffs 8-8 Chargers upset Colts in OT)
2. Rex Grossman and the Bears
From New Mexico Charger fan since I was six years old I watch a game I believe a Monday night game against jets wonder if that who they were playing , anyway I am 54 now 55 in November if anybody knows how to look that up. Wow! time flys I would have never thought we would be superbowless.

The #1 Offense of 2006 Folks. Ladanian Tomlinson MVP. It sucks there's no full games in HD on RUclips besides the Playoff game no Charger fan wants to watch. I just love great football to watch recorded in offseasons; and these Chargers don't have uploads. The great running teams of 2000's are hard to appreciate.

I wish I were the age I am now to have been able to watch that season and remember everything. my dad remembers how awesome it was to be a Chargers fan that year. I remember watching a few games with him and each one was better than the next! Regardless, I’m a diehard Chargers fan thanks to my dad!

This reminds me more of the 1998 Minnesota Vikings in there league's championship game with the screw up being kicker Gary Anderson. The 2006 Chargers screw up not a kicker but instead line backer Marlin Macree. Both those games were never blowouts but ended in 3 point victories. The 2019 Ravens game was a complete blowout, not even close to these two games.

As a packers fan I was rooting for both you guys and the ravens and as a team the chargers were the best besides the 2014 packers to not win sb this century and the ravens was the best defense not to win a sb and did their best vs manning
Now, those jerseys are one of my all time favorites . Idk what it was??? But the yellow lining outside and around the numbers and that dark Charger blue gave that Jersey a pop n shine thats made it unique to all others. N still my personal favorite till this day. Thank u. LT crying at the 50 yard line should be included in the highlights. Oct 2005 Chargers danced on the Pats logo in Foxboro after stream rolling them. Patriots didn't forget and returned the favor.

I’ll never forget going to these games when I was a kid, my dad a SD native got season tickets so I got to witness history every home game and never experienced a loss…I still hold hope that one day the Bolts will be back in SD where they belong once the Spanos’ are finally out of the picture.
it's crazy how one play changed the faith of this dinasty. If they would won against Patriots, they easily would have won the superbowl ( chargers always were Manning's colts nightmare and those bears where average), which would meant keeping Scotty as head coach and keeping the same successful football style and energy. Even tough they eventually reached a championship, the 2006 chargers team was the one that should have won a ring
