    What i do is put the onions in some water after peeling for some time. That really helps in controlling the overpowering taste of the onions especially when they're bitter.

      I might try that, maybe that's what they do in salad bars becuase I love onion but when I do it im like ughhh

      @@lisetteem588Yes, do try. Soaking the onions have always worked for me so there's a great chance it could work for everyone.

      vinegar is a good option, too. or just take out the core. (but the core has the good stuff...so).

    I'm what my dad always called a "junk food junkie," I have awful eating habits but I made this a while back when my seriously diabetic uncle visited & I was surprised at how good it was!

    It's the acidity from the lemons/vinegar that makes them not as sharp. Same goes to raw garlic.

    Red onions are the sweet variety. I always have them in my veggie salad, sliced thinly. They are prebiotic

    I appreciate your easy to follow tasty recipes. I prepped the ingredients and saved the onions with the dressing in the fridge. The next day, I assembled the whole meal in a few minutes. It was scrumptious! ❤

    Yum. I'm going to try this, and I love that your dressing doesn't have any sugar or honey in it. I hate sugar on vegetables (tomatoes, a fruit, included). Like a lot of other commenters on this post, I also rinse or soak cut onions in cool water. It will also keep you from crying.

    For me, when I wash cut onions in some cool water it lowers the overpowering taste and is less unpleasant🤗.

    This looks so good. But maybe I'd have to blend it. For me onion is a texture thing. I have no idea why and I'm already practically 30

      @@babarsuhail5678 I always feel so immature saying I don't like onion lol. But it's on the slimy or waxy thing that I don't like about them it's the specific crunch they have. And I like other crunchy vegetables it's just something about onions. You can feel their tiny microscopic layers they gross me out. But I like the flavor lol. I actually wished I liked them lol

    1) love this, it’s my preferred method when I don’t want as much of that fresh onion heat in a dish
    2) you can also rinse your chopped onions under cold running water in a sieve or colander if you want them to be milder in flavor 👍🏽

    I heard that you can also rinse them beforehand to make them less „aggressive“ but I’ve never tried it☺️ I tried pickling them though and after 20-30mins you can already use them and they are easier on your digestion 😃

    Cut your onion and put some salt for some minutes and rinse properly. All bitterness will go away.

    After I soak my onions I put it in the microwave for 2 minutes. I add seasoning to it and it tastes so good people keep asking for more

    My mom likes to take her sliced up onions and puts them in a colander with salt. She rubs the salt into the onions and rinses it off afterwards. The salt helps to mellow out the flavor

    Yummy! And save the onion peels/skin to add to soup, they have a lot of nutrients. Remember to remove them before serving the soup.
