Tried the recipe and it turned out really well. especially because I was trying quinoa for the first time. My mother In law who is an excellent cook herself appreciated as well. Thank you for the demonstration and recipe.

A short cut to making this:
just dump all the vegetables in to hotpot and stir them for 4 minutes,
Add moongdal and quinoa
close the lid and set it on pressure setting for 7 minutes and vola 😀 u have ur quinoa kichidi ready in 10 minutes,
Therefore no need to steam cook vegetables separately and add more dishes for cleaning later
Definitely not gonna taste the same, as the first step of stir frying ingredients (tadka) is missing ! its very important for taste... it of course takes more time.. :)
Will quinoa be cooked in your way
@@subins47 ofcourse it is will taste the a little different because you are frying the vegetables for 4 minutes in hotpot , if you want them to properly stir fry then you can stir fry them in hotpot for a little longer for about 10 min , but healthier version would be to use less oil and less time to stir fry so that the nutrients in vegetables can be intact
@@NawabSDigitalBusiness yes, it is easy to do it in hotpot for a stainless steel pressure cooker. I prefer hotpot for my cooking because it is easier than pressure cooker
Just not that pressure cooking vegetables looses most of its nutrients
Got a quinoa packet free with brown rice. Didn't know how to cook it. Will make this khichdi for sure

Tomato for garnish is so colorful but I had added pomegranate and that to tasted nice. It was made for ekadshi fast so didn't use mung dal. But I added colorful bellpeppers and tomatoes in khichadi. I am going to do your way just without onion garlic and hint, with mung dal
