Never underestimate the power of planning ahead and being organized. You're a great inspiration for us to be productive! Juggling our business and our youtube channel could sometimes be really challenging for us. I loved how organized you are on the planning side and even at the actual filming of your videos! Hope to apply all your tips! Thanks again! And yes a little background, you might have seen me before but my desire to inspire more people is what keeps me pushing to reach out more. We own a cookie shop business in our college town. When we first started it, we just graduated college and were living in our car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. I started it out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And how we have our first storefront location (a second one currently under construction but launching soon!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams.
I needed this! It can be hard to stay consistent with creating content for RUclips especially when managing an online business which can get pretty time consuming as well. I agree planning is key.
Hi Gillian! Love the info in your vids 👍🏼 Great quality and delivery ! Can you consider showing more real time examples with graphics? For example, if you’re talking about doing a keyword search on RUclips, show exactly how you would do it, what comes up, what you focus on, , zoom in on the page, etc. I’m just a very visual person and if I can SEE what’s happening when your talking about your process, I can absorb it a little better. Just some thoughts. Thanks for all your awesome work!
I only upload once a week so 4 videos a month. I'd like to start uploading more but it's hard to when you're not seeing the growth you'd like to. It doesn't motivate me but I still try to do one a week and be consistent.
Consistency is so important! I just took a look at your channel (not the first time I've done so :) and I have a couple suggestions for how you might be able to grow faster -- if you want, we could connect for a quick (free) call later this month. :) Email my office at contact@gillianperkins.com if you're interested!
I use my channel as a journal of my knitting but I probably could come up with some ideas for a month starting slowely with one video ... who knows :) thank you for sharing
OMG! I was just sitting here planning my videos for the month and BAM! there you are talking about it! Haha! (Love that digital planning tool you showed!)
Great video Gillian! Very informative. Could you talk about script writing and how you lay that out? What software you use to type it out? Do you have it laying beside the camera for you to refer to? Do you do a practice run? Etc...
Very cool! I have just started my 2 channels 2 months ago and last week managed to film+edit+schedule all videos for both previous and this week (currently I'm having a little vacation with my family). So, 8 videos for 4 days! 4 in Russian and 4 in English. It worked out pretty well! Want to work even better in the future, thanks for your tips!
Excelent video as always, Gillian you are my best inspiration in english!!! Keep the good work, I will keep doing progress in my new channel. ❤ Thanks again to help us and for free on RUclips, love your channel. I always share your best videos on a list on my channel so others can get your valuable info on my Online Businnes list.
Hi Gillian! I've watched some of your videos, but haven't used any of your tips yet. I'm a bit slow into taking action and I haven't found a way to become a doer and not just be a thinker. Anyways, today's video really got me into thinking that I have to start doing something at last! I'm a mixed media artist and I'm from Greece. I love sharing my art, but in my country the audience is very shy and I rarely get any feedback or even a thumbs up. I wont even mention about getting subscribers. According to YT analytics 70% of my audience is from the USA! I've been thinking of starting a series of mixed media 101 in greek, hoping that this could get me more viewers, first because I'll be showing more easy processes and second because maybe greeks are not so fluent with english after all. I'd love to read your comments on that. Thank you so much for making these videos. Have a great weekend!
Natassa Blazaki well I’m not Gillian 😆 but I will say in all my years as an entrepreneur the one thing I’ve learned is to listen to what your audience needs/wants and do more of that. And in this case since your audience is primarily English speaking, I’d continue in English subtitle in Greek, and do your descriptions in both!
@@TaraWagner Hi Tara! Thanks for taking the time to write me. I guess you're right about the language. It's more work of course, but maybe is just what I have to do. On the other hand I was hoping to attract more greek audience. Start changing things a bit in my country. There are so few of us that film mixed media process videos and none of us is filming in greek. How are we going to motivate the greek audience? Don't think that subtitles are enough. Maybe I have to make some trials and see how it goes. Greetings from Greece
@@NatassaBlazaki defintiely! experiment and don't give up! if you're heart is in Greece, keep it there. even if you need to build an international audience, you can do so in ways that ultimately serve your greater goal!

Great question! Nope, I don't normally use a script. I actually find that I stumble around a lot more if I write down to many notes (because it makes me try to remember what I wrote instead of thinking about what I'm saying). Instead, I just write down a few bullet points to keep me on track.

@@TaraWagner - I post twice a week as well. I did Vlogmas with one a day and it just about killed me, even after creating blocks of videos. I think 2 is about all I will be able to handle for now and the near future.
Indian mom vlogs Latha oh girl, I hear you. I juggle a disability and multiple health disorders. It takes massive self care, realistic expectations, and help when you can get it. Keep chipping away at it. You can do this. ❤️
Indian mom vlogs Latha when you have good days do you find you overdo it in order to really take advantage of them? I used to do that and really had to learn to pace myself and to take better care of myself...for me I wouldn’t take as good care when I was feeling good as when I wasn’t. Breaking those habits has helped me have fewer (and shorter) bad days.
