May I add to point #4 that researching your competitors comments section on youtube is also a treasure trove of juicy information. Thanks for this video. I love all your videos very informative. I started a RUclips channel and have about 7 videos and only 7 subscribers. I’m still learning how to edit and I’m not the most comfortable in front of the camera. I feel really discouraged like I’m not good enough or have anything to talk about that people actually care about.
I have felt the same way and I have 28 subscribers now and I know it's not much but just enjoy what you do and don't get discouraged! :) I think if you give it time to grow and keep uploading videos the subscribers will eventually come :)

Helpful, thanks Gillian. I'm struggling because people will click through to watch my videos (almost 100 views on my first video within a week) but they don't like them or subscribe to my channel even though I know many of those people will return to my channel for weekly videos. RUclips isn't the main part of my business but is an important part as it's supplemental to the information I post on social media and my website.
Make a custom t-shirt or hoodie with the channel info. Not only will you basically be a walking billboard, but it makes you seem more invested.

Lots of great advice, Thank You! My main problem is figuring out what my niche is AND I worry that I am too old for this! I started my channel just 4 days ago, I have 5 subscribers and 158 or so watch minutes. I am enjoying this SO much but I really need to find what my focus should be.

Even my channel is about a very different topic, you helped me with a lot of ideas and make it in a more professional way.
