michelle - you don't realize how much of a revolution you caused. back then, everyone laughed at the ZDX and called it ugly. however, it paved the way for coupe-suvs. thank you michelle, i loved your design and will always do.
She designed a car way ahead of its time! Today it would probably sell like hot cakes since SUV-coupes are hot right now. I was surprised to know she designed the new NSX which also looks amazing
I own the 2010 model of this car, If you drive this car, You'll fall in love with it. I really really wished they continued with the production.
I bought my 2010 off the showroom floor, and still to this day, people think it's a new car. I
Michelle, you did an awesome job! I said back in 2009, when I fell in love with the ZDX, if I were designing an all-around vehicle, it would look like the ZDX. I've driven this car over 100k miles over the past 11 years, and it is nothing short of awesome! THANKS FOR GIVING US THIS VEHICLE! It WILL be appreciated in years to come, as a car that was ahead of its' time.

I saw its cousin the TL 8 years ago while I was walking on the street. I fell in love immmediately and hoped that one day I would own that car. I am now the proud owner of an 11 Acura TL with a 6-speed manual transmission. Thank you so much for making this car look like this!!
I love the ZDX, its bold and has presence. Who needs a car that everyone think looks ok to good, all that matters is the person driving it loves it.

They should bring the ZDX back for a second generation with a newer design & better ingress & egress. With a more affordable price tag, they could have a serious competitor to the current Mercedes-Benz, upcoming Audi, & current BMW crossover coupes

It’s a damn shame the ZDX was unpopular for the time. So much passion put into this car. I’d rather prefer the 09 TL, but gotta say the ZDX is growing on me. Atleast I can say I’m a proud owner of a 2012 TL ❤
This car is unique it in own right, I think the failure came from trying to compete with BMW with a poor man's budget and still trying to price it high. I have owned many honda and acura but if i was going to spend this much personally I'd buy the x6 and know that I can use all 4 seats comfortably. I am still going to buy a zdx but a used one. :)

I love the overall design of the zdx, but I would so love to see something like this as a driver's car. maybe a little smaller (doesn't have to be) but lighter and offering enthusiast type controls, perhaps a 6 or 7 speed manual. It'll never happen, but power of dreams right?

@cstrikeplaya As you saw in the episode, the car was in development since late 2004. The BMW came out in 2008. What was interesting, the people at Honda working on the Crosstour didn't know about the ZDX and vice versa! Even more interesting, they were both designed one parking lot away from each other in California!

This was back when Honda wasn't going completely downhill after the 2008 financial crisis, the Tohoku earthquake in March 2011 which destroyed their factory in Japan, and at the same time their factory in Thailand was submerged underwater due to flooding. Those have really affected their ability to innovate as they were busy doing damage control.

Seating head room for rear seat passengers was obviously an after-thought, especially for six footters. I kept hitting my head on the roof line when I'd try to get to the rear seats.

Yes, I know Acura would eventually, maybe as a un expected surprise. But if they was going to do it any time soon, then why didnt they start with the RLX. Instead of FWD as a base model, there should have been a RWD one, then you can bump up to the newer eSH-AWD system. And I doubt we will actually get a mini NSX or another S2000 soon. On the drawing bored does not mean on the assembly line. (I follow Acura & Honda VERY closely)
We are hoping the upcoming Miata/Alfa and the success of the FR-S/BRZ will prod Honda to take this market seriously because when they put the engineering resources to it, they can do wonderful things RWD.
I agree, though the S2000 had a differential issue.
For now I think they just need the ILX in a coupe variant. ILX is based on Civic, and Civic has a Coupe Plat form so why not.. IF Acura can keep the ZDX alive being built along the MDX's side, costing noting more, then wouldnt that be the same for the ILX? (Other than new Sheet mettle costs). I'm sure Acura is waiting for profit to build up on the Sedans first, then they will make the Type-S or Coupes after MMC and EarthDreams are added.

BMW can also say they were designing and the X6 and was in the process since early 2000s, do you know what i am tryin to say? i could care less, but im just stating my opinion.

they are over-praising the vehicle too much in this video. anyways, its a very unique car, unfortunately, this angular design may look great now, but in say 10 years from now, it will look extremely outdated compared to classic looks lika X6

To bad it failed.
This car just looks stupid. It has an SUVs height so the low fast cool feeling of a coupe is gone. But it has a coupes roofline so rear head room isn't what it could be. Why would they waste money building something so stupid with no real use when they could add some excitement back into the Honda portfolio. They have nothing remotely sporty in their line up they need to bring back the NSX and s2000
