Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! RUclips's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we get a rare chance to get an up close and personal, in depth look at the very unique, Acura ZDX.

During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

This is a hell of a deal for a car like this. All that Tech and Luxury can be bought for $24k! All just because of the lack of demand. I think this might have a following later because this styling was ahead of its time when it came out. Its really unique and its styling will look alot better in a couple years!

This car was so far ahead of its time, my phone S24 Ultra actually connects to the Bluetooth system in my car. I also had the honor of owning it's cousin the Honda Crosstour, my older phone would not connect on it. I fell in love with the Crosstour before I knew the ZDX ever existed. I happened to pass one going down the highway, ended up looking the car up online and found this beauty!!! This is my true dream car!
I think these will become desirable over time in the Honda community because of how unique they are. Kind of like the Accord/TSX wagons
I really really like this car. I was debating when made my purchase. Have driven it for 2 years, i love it increasingly everyday. Mainly because of the perfect handling when making turns, switching lanes, and stability in bad weather (icy roads, heavy storm, NO PROBLEM). oh. did I mention, super affordable maintenance cost? the bad side would be not practical for family with children. if you are looking this car, like me 2 years ago, and debating whether you should get it. GET IT! but make sure you get it Certified pre-own, not local small dealer or craigslist. it is great! also, test drive both 2012, and 2013 models make sure you have the functions you want. different year comes with different standard functions.
But really even if it may not be so visually appealing, it's definitely unique, and that automatically qualifies it as Saabkyle04 material!

Acura should bring the ZDX back to their lineup. Refresh it with jewel led headlight and precision concept grill. This will look a lot better than the current BMW X4 or GLC Coupe.
This car was the shit when it was around. I used to work at an Acura dealership and these were outselling MDX's for about 6 months in 2010. Why you may ask? These things can haul boats, and they are extremely smooth to drive. Asides from questionable looks, these are perfect cars.
He just said in the video that they can only tow 1500 pounds, which is pathetic. Where is your information coming from?
My information is coming from myself being a former Acura salesman. With the right tow hook attachment, you could tow upwards of 6000 pounds with one of these. Now I'm no towing expert, but I've had customers tow their tractors with these (Yes, I live in the Midwest so tractors are common).

This and the accord crosstour were doing the whole coupe crossover thing and were called ugly. Now look at what is trending.

Ive always wanted one and just got one. I am transitioning from an X5. Slowly adapting and even though nothing compares to a bmw I have to say the zdx has a lot of the same if not even a couple more luxuries and is a lot more stylish. My X5 and zdx are of the same year but everyone thinks I switched to a newer more expensive car.

That was very comprehensive review. I've had my 2013 ZDX for almost four years and I still love it. I do wish Acura would bring it back. I would definitely buy another.

thakito_ I didn’t sell it. I still have it. I’ve had it for 7 1/2 years and I still love it. I was saying, in my comment, that I would buy a newer one if Acura were to make a new one.

I just moved... And my neighbors had one of these acura's and it's pretty nice inside and a nice tight feeling... But I can see where everybody is a little confused about the styling.

When I realized that I just saw a ZDX, I went mad with learning about it. It's nice that the features and specs of this car are immortalized in your video, we really appreciate what you do!

This was the only Acura I liked but I tend to like things that are unique. It has a Night Hawk fighter jet appearance to me which I thought was pretty cool. Sad to see it go from low sales... :(
I would definitely finance one with low miles. I like unique cars because you don't see them much on the road.
Ness Rosenbrad I would as well but once you factor in the gas Id rather save my money and finance something electric honestly. Just my opinion though. The Model X is way better but of course way more expensive... The Chevy Bolt is coming though anf that would take my money before the acura lol
I agree I just seen it was 16 city, that's horrible for every day driving. I was looking at the model 3 but people without a garage can't use it for everyday driving or road trips or anything like that because of the lack of Tesla superstations around. I can easily get stranded with that car and the random Graham parking stations in the city takes half a day to fully charge so a person like me can't get that car unless I have another gas car.
Ness Rosenbrad It is a little difficult without a garage to have a full EV. If you park on the street you have to do it right in front of your house and run an extension cord...which might not be allowed by code and which is not recommended by the auto makers. Even in my car port I have to run a long extension cord and it takes 10+ hours charging overnight to get 5- miles of range on my Volt on a 120 outlet...
SECK Yeah I was looking at the new Volt but I've seen the backseats aren't too spacious for taller people. I really wanted that Model 3 but I just can't get it for everyday use.
I actually really like this.The styling is not for everyone, but the people who do like the style will appreciate what Acura was trying to do. Really wish the continued this. Usually these newer cars do not really get to me, but I really do like this one.
We purchased a 2010 last year. I just watched another video that was more technical with the development goals like the testing at the Nuremberg Ring. I didn't know about the engineering effort that Acura put into it. Anyway I'm 6'4" and when I am behind the wheel I wear it. My wife loves it
One of the very few unique models from Acura. For me, all it needed was more headroom in the back.

Saw this vehicle on the road the other day and it def. caught my eye. Had to look it up. I'm surprised I watched the whole video. Overall great review of the ZDX.
Not sure why everyone doesn't like this car. It looks great! Great GREAT body lines, interior is great looking, it's a nice size for a family of four.

2023 - couple like suvs are all the trend. such a shame so many people laughed at the zdx, called it ugly. now everyone wants a couple like suv. i was always one of the people who loved this car. hopefully it lives up to its fame.

@@ihn7788 average mileage...23-25 hwy, 18-20 city...no issues at all except a scratched rim from allowing the Misses to drive, lol...i will say this though, checking the blind spot on the passenger side is impossible because of a pillar with a speaker located there...gotta be EXTREMELY careful when changing lanes on the right...also, please don’t plan on using the cargo space for nothing big...it will piss you off, lol

Ya, I do like the NSX. I actually like it a lot, but that car isn't in production any more as of right now.
I agree with you that everything in the current Acura lineup is not appealing.
It really doesn't look to be very luxury. You pay so much for something that looks to have the same interior quality as a regular Honda. It might just be the color of the interior of this car, I don't really know. Cream or light interiors don't look good in my opinion in most cases.

bmw is like coca cola ok?well, acura is like an imitation of coca cola, you can say they taste likely the same, but if you look at the ingredients they won't be the same.
while bmw has perfect engine and high end constructing material , acura is mostly made of plastic, plastic console , plastic inserts and so on and the engine isn't as good and as powerful as a bmw or a mercedes or an audi one. all those american car are made with shit , the felling when driving is like driving a plastic box with plastic wheels.
they all are made with scrap, no matter what brand is, all of them (american cars) aren't even comparable with german ones
If I had the ability to create a "future classics" car collection I'd buy a ZDX, an ELR, a Murano CC in the blue color, and a New Beatle Blush Edition since I just sold mine...

The inside is like my 2012 TL SH-AWD, but engine same as MDX, because MDX is 300bhp and TL is 305bhp

I think I may be the latest born person who's ever driven a ZDX, born December 25, 1992. Probably close anyway. Only 7,191 made between 2010-2013.

Hey SaabKyle thanks for posting up another Acura vid. If you get the chance can you review the TLX when it comes out please.
I think Acura had soothing special with this car. They only needed to revise it and add some changes in areas people didn't like. No other company in this class offers a vehicle with this styling. Only two cars are out right now with this car/suv style and they are the BMW X6 & Mercedes GLC couple. No Lexus, no Infiniti, no Audi, no Jag, So Acura could pull this off.

ZDX With SH-AWD and a manual 6 speed with either a 350hp v6 or a Turbo 4, and they would have a hit all over again..
Kyle, why have you put 2010 -2013 versus the model year of this particular car man? :)
Meaning the car is now out of production; discontinued. 2010-2013 was the production years for this specific Acura.
Because for 3 years the production the vehicle had the same body style. If it was a bmw 5 e60 he would say 2004-2010 (US) or then new bmw 5 f10 2011-2013.
***** Because nothing has changed. There was no differences between the model years. Only one generation of the ZDX was made. Refer to Tim K for another example.
There have a 2015 BMW M3 and a 2015 BMW M4 at Kendrick BMW. Is it possible that you could review it whenever you have time?
i actually do like they. had it been updated, i would have picked it over my current TSX (which i will be trading for a TLX as soon as it hits in august)

I remember when my dad had his MDX in for service they gave him this and it was really cool but it was also really weird compared to the MDX you can't fit in the back seat and the trunk is tiny. I don't really know why Acura ever decided to make this car
This manual shiftability, do you _have_ to use it or is it optional? If it's optional, than it's just going to be a wasted feature that will never be used. In my book, a car is either manual, meaning you always shift the gears, or automatic, meaning you *never* shift gears. I don't like all this semi automatic bullshit.
Really now? The point is two things.. 1) if you want an automatic for everyday but want to control the car sometimes, and 2)
If you need to downshift for something or for in the winter when it's more beneficial to start out in 2nd gear

This was very helpful. I was really considering buying this until I saw your video. If I was to go with this type of vehicle it would be better to go with the BMW X6.
it is very hard to see the blind spot, and the rear window is also very small..interiorwise very good i like it

This and the Honda Crosstour sort tried to blend a car, a shooting brake, and a crossover into something, but it's a very strange concept.

As hated as the ZDX is, they are retaining their value extremely well. I thought I could easily find a 2010 or 2011 for about $20k at this point....nope

Out here in CA I've seen them for about 24 all the way up to 39k still. That 24-26k in ATL is still out my price range haha
+TheRzarectah I'm sure you can use some bargaining power to gain some ground but if you wanna stick to a budget that's smart and I respect that.
