Great video. I fabricated my own lift kit since I wanted 6" of lift. FYI: Fabricating my own spacers DIDN'T save me any money (metal is getting more expensive by the day), but did allow me to get the lift I needed. In my case, my trailer was particularly low (regularly bottoming out and damaging the rear corners) and I plan on moving from 15" trailer tires to 17" mud tires in the next few weeks... so I really needed more lift than the standard kit. Again, great video -- really helped me throughout my own lift!!!
Thank you for this video. I just special ordered a new small cargo trailer (Wells Cargo 6x12) to make an adventure toy hauler and I special ordered it with a Dexter torsion axle to lift it with these spacers (never liked the flip method with springs). Your video is an excellent guide to installing them. I also think (can't remember) your video was where I got the idea to order a torsion axle for ease of lifting the cargo trailer.
If you are worried about the tire alignment just run a tape from the back of the hitch mount to the front of each axle on one side and then the other. As long as the measurements are equal you are in alignment. Your build is looking great.
This is the best video on youtube showing how these spacers are installed. Using the ramps instead of jacks seems excellent! Thanks SO much. Because I am also converting a cargo trailer (including a minio-split) I have subscribed. More videos PLEASE!
I have the same trailer. I was scraping the tongue jack all the time. I installed a 3in Riser aluminum block between the base of the tongue jack and the frame.
I assumed the same thing! I called around to get it lined up to have someone else lift it but the wait time was too long so i just decided to tackle it, im glad I did... much simpler than I expected!
Hey Daniel, thanks for this video. Yours is the best one out there for this job. It is really helpful to see someone do this on their own. So my question would be, did you need to get the axles lined up? It would seem that there is little to no adjustment available on this type trailer. What did you find out on that? Thanks again for the help on this Daniel.
I have a 17 ft enclosed Legend trailer and was wondering how to make it off road for hunting better thank you so much for this video. How does it tow and difference? Did it throw your alignment off at all?
We're having a custom cargo trailer built next spring and I will be buying 2 sets of Timbren axle-less suspension kits to send them to use in place of the stock axles & springs. You might want to consider them for a future upgrade. They are better than torsion axles as they give your trailer 2 or 4 wheel independent suspension which is great if you go off-road, and they allow you to do away with ground clearance robbing axle tubes. You can order them in 4" lift, 4" drop or standard configuration. The 2 sets (for 4 wheels) will have the 4" lift so I can install larger or deeper holding tanks and have more than enough room to route the discharge plumbing. Anyway, I saw these and knew this was the way I wanted to go. Here's a link in case you ever want to improve on what you have.... www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Leaf-Spring-Suspension/Timbren/A12RS440.html
Daniel, your build definitely inspired me to buy a Legend 8x19dvnta35. I have a long list of questions that I'd love to ask you pertaining to this build. The first would be what kind of traps did you use on your sink and shower? I've already watched all of your videos multiple times. I honestly wish that I could contact you more directly, but I understand the need for privacy, as well.
Nice, I want to do that to my Winnie drop travel trailer is that a universal kid or do I need to get one specifically for that Winnebago where the holes will line up it is torsion axle also? Thank you!
Its universal assuming you have Dexter torsion axles and order the kit that corresponds to your specific axle (trailer manufacturers tend to all source their torsion axles from Dexter, assuming you are running torsion axles, you're probably in the clear!)
I have the same problem with my trailer it seats too low, but my trailer is a 24’ stealth, I notice your is. Legend is that kit works for any trailer ? Where did you order from please thanks
Every time I get ready to do something your videos pop up. How's the split system? Does going down the highway impact the fan at all? Did you pick it up on Amazon? I'm going to attempt to run mine off solar
It's still blowing cold and hot. We use it often. Solar would be awesome! I ordered it online. Think I have a link to it on one of the videos. I have two of the exact same units, they are both still going strong
I’m still looking at what to buy. It’s hard to find an older fiberglass camper. My truck has a 10” lift so I’m hoping to put 5” on the trailer and do some overlanding
Does it only work on dexter torsion axles? Ive got an old 92 pop up that i want to lift up but its so old i cant even find a stamp on it to see who made them so im curious if its a universal type part
Does the lift kit do the job? IF it does, then why should it matter if it comes to you scratched? Chances are that within a few years of acive use the paint is going to com off..
Cameron, I'm with you all the way. If you look up reviews on the kit, everyone seems to have the same issue with the missing powder coat finish. A $10 can of bedliner takes care of the paint issue with no muss - no fuss. On the other hand, I understand that people expect to get what they have been told they will receive. The product description does say "powder coated"... or at least it has wherever I've seen the listings.
@@danielmid6022 Here is the response. "Unfortunately our torsion axle riser kit is for 3.5K torsion axles only." This only means the Lippert doesn't make lift kits for 5200 lbs axles. Dexter makes them. FYI
