    Only thing I don’t like is the gfi being outside. That would be aggravating if you tripped it at night. But I’m sure you built it to your liking. Nice trailer man.

    Awesome breakdown. Doing something similar as soon as I take delivery of our trailer. I'm using an isolation switch but I like the 20A plug. Had I thought of that I wouldn't have bought the cam switch.

    Freedom HF by Zantac makes a inverter charger that switches automatically when plugged into shore power so you don’t have to unplug your 110 lines and plug them back in with a remote panel . Other than that you have the same exact set up a do

      What is the source of power for the inverter? Batteries or power from the pull vehicle?

    Great video. Simple, short and easy to understand! This is exactly what I want to do to a Overland Trailer. Do you have solar hook up? That would be a nice video to add to your list. Did you have a Battery hooked up?

    I don't suppose you have made an actual wiring schematic for this show how it all runs and grounds?

    Can you tell me what "ampage" are your outlets inside the camper? In June, I had my solar and electricity wired in the Promaster. There is a 30 AMP exterior receptacle but the interior plug outlets (which also have USB plugs) are 15 AMP. The extension cord that I was told to purchase does not show how many amps it is and it has a 15 AMP plugs on each end. So... the extension cord will not fit the exterior 30 AMP receptacle. I also don't see a circuit breaker anywhere. I think that I need to have all of the electric and solar looked at by another person. Can you offer any feedback?

    I'm trying to build a system like this and was wondering if I use a negative bus bar off the batteries do I still need to ground batteries to the chassis?

  • @mdawes3322

    Where did you run the ground wire on the inverter?
    Also is the other large black wire coming off the buss bar grounded to the trailer?

    Can we see inside the electrical panel? Isnt that a double hot sub-panel breaker box? Usually they have 2 hot legs for 2 bus bars and youd use a 2 pole breaker in that spot. Did you double tap those lugs inside to get your single hot from the 30A exterior twist lock plug across to the other bus bar?

    So you don't need a 30 amp breaker before the fuse panel?

    The plug you plug into the inverter or converter. What does the other end look like? Like your setup was thinking a transfer switch but this seems much easier

    What are you powering from the 12v fuse box? Do you have any outlets from your 12v fuse box?

  • @CarlosGarcia-ls4hn

    Question: Could you also have used a regular 110 volt wire to connect to the breaker box. With a 30 amp plug, do you have a place in your house that will connect to that?

    • @billwiley7216
      @billwiley7216 2 года назад

      I know this is old but they make plug adapters that you could use to plug either a 30 amp extension cord into your house plug or a regular 15 amp extension cord into the trailer but you will be limited to only 15amp service.
      The main advantage of the 30 amp plug on the trailer is taking full advantage of the 30amp R/V outlets at campgrounds to run things like an A/C or microwave.

  • @richarddomsicz670
    @richarddomsicz670 3 года назад

    i thought the 30 amp cord is 220 v. it is at camp grounds. you say its 110 going into the breaker box. im confused

    • @billwiley7216
      @billwiley7216 2 года назад +1

      30 amp is only 110. At campgrounds you are thinking of the 50 amp being 220.

    Hmm… Doesn’t [affiliate] next to all of your electrical components mean that you GOT THEM FOR FREE? I want to be Affiliated TOO so I can get free stuff! Now that its been over 3 years with this system…..what would u have done different?

    Trying to gather everything you have to do something very similar. Does the 12v stuff work still when your running off the inverter ?
