That’s the best cargo camper I have ever seen. You must be a man of a million talents. You have set the bar high for all cargo camper projects. Very impressive.
Shelter.. bath and toilet facilities.. food storage and preparation area.. a comfortable space to relax and sleep. All this in 16 feet. This is an example of true self sufficiency and wisdom. The wisdom of simplicity and The luxury of efficiency. Well done.
This is a great job. I've watched what seems like hundreds of these. Everyone has their own style, preferences and ideas. That's why I love these custom builds. Usually several things I like and several things I wouldn't personally do. But I love this build. Killer job. Awesome work.
One of the best conversions I've seen. At last a builder who doesn't make excuses for the TV, Microwave, A/C or oven. It grinds my gears when someone shows their 55" TV and says "oh, we never watch it", or a beautiful oven and says "oh we never use it". Or a nice microwave, "oh, we use it for storage". People worried too much about what others think like they are a bad human if they choose to watch a little TV. This build is by an honest man who did a great job!
Congratulations! I've watched a hundred Cargo conversion videos in preparing to build my own, and it appears to me that you are the only one that's done it right.
Best conversion I have ever seen... For such a small space it all fits perfectly... I'm gonna copy your set up... Wish I knew how much you spent... Thanks.
Of all of the cargo trailer conversions I have seen, this is the best and most comprehensive build. Clearly a lot of thought, planning and hard work went into it. Nice job sir!
This is from a Mechanical Engineer (not me) that used to be an Engineer in a class A motor home factory. "CO is a HEAVIER-THAN-AIR gas. It is a product of 'incomplete combustion', not normal combustion. Your CO detector needs to be mounted below the level of your bed. When CO begins to collect, it will collect on the floor in a layer, displacing the oxygen. The layer will continue to rise as more is generated. If your CO detector is incorporated in a smoke detector that is mounted high up on the wall (as is proper for a smoke detector because smoke rises), it will never go off. For this reason, make sure your smoke alarm is not in the same module as your CO alarm and position each so that they alarm will go off appropriately meaning before the harmful gas you are trying to detect reaches you. Combination CO, propane and smoke detectors are legal but inadvisable. Smoke is light, CO and propane heavy." EVERYONE SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS!
Actually carbon monoxides specific gravity is around.5 depending on the number of molecules in the incomplete combustion. It hovers ever so slightly, which makes it dangerous because it sticks around until air current dilutes it.
After going back and listening again, its a propane leak detector down low. Specific gravity is 1.5 which will seek it's lowest point and wait for a spark. And co detector is correctly installed high.
You really need to check your information. I retired from the gas company where I live and worked as a service technician. Your engineer friend is misinformed. The specific gravity of CO (carbon monoxide) is .9667 which is ever so slightly lighter than air. Air has a specific gravity of 0.0 which is what all gases are measured by. I think you are confusing propane for CO. Propane is heavier than air. That what makes it so dangerous! It seeks the lowest point and waits for a spark if if doesn't have enough square footage to dilute with air. Ask Google or anything that you trust. These words are true my friend.
Again, your engineer is mistaken. Specific gravity of CO is .9667 which is slightly lighter than air. Most CO detectors are plug, in at least the better ones. Ask Google and you will see I'm right.
Very, very well done trailer. This is the gold standard of conversion cargo trailers. Pat yourself on the back and grab yourself a beer, you have earned it!
Super impressive. I watch a lot of RV videos (too many, probably) and your cargo conversion is nicer than most manufactured camper trailers. Well Done!
@@bobshaw4063 you're 100% right the factory RVs are junk, the rubber roof start leaking when you get water in between the walls and then you have black mold in mine too RVS the same thing happened to both. Now I just bought a Wells cargo with a one-piece aluminum roof.
This is a great conversion. The upper bunk is especially great. It can be put there even if you don't have a kid. It can be used for storage or if you have a guest that comes out on the road with you. Good job!
You've got carpentry / build skills through the roof. OMGosh! I've sold homes with MUCH worse carpentry. EVERY single joint where wall meets a built-in is PERFECTION. Not one single gap. IT TRULY looks like a home inside with such sharp lines and DIE HARD corners, even the paint is to a T. Man! If this isn't your career...and you desired more money... YOU ARE DOING IT. This is beautiful. I don't think I'll see any other conversion made like it, and I've seen MANY over the last few years already. Kudos.
It feels like I've watched approximately 186,000 conversion videos, and yours is, by far, the best. I'm just stunned! It's so much better than similar sized campers. The only change I'd make is trying to figure out where to put another window, but that's just a personal thing. Great work!
Hell - this beats most Tiny House videos I've seen by a mile... especially that bathroom... I love that shower! Seriously, consider that for a single person - it's more spacious than a lot of those tiny builds I've seen, and he fit it in a cargo trailer, with a real bathroom! :)
This has got to be the most perfect (by my standards) build I've ever seen. The layout is great, the quality appears to be exceptional. Near the end, I was wondering "how much does this thing weigh?". Well, you answered that as well. Great job!

Very much what I envision as I gather information. I’m retired and working 7 daysx6 weeks in rice harvest. The same schedule for planting and I’ll purchase a trailer and begin building my forever home. Good job, sir.
best one I have seen. we think a lot alike, I built a small camp trailer from scratch this year, now I'm thinking about my retirement in a cargo trailer. a lot of your charging and electrical in general I had already contemplated, (I'm a control electrician) and it stuck me in this video that you hit every mark! great job.
Just now seeing your videos for the first time . I have to say . Your build is probably the best I've seen on RUclips . Just an awesome job . I think you could make a career out of building tiny cargo homes . I'd sure buy one .
Very well done, one of my top 3 and I have looked at maybe 75. You also present as a very smart, considerate, measured thinker, and skilled craftsman. Enjoy your handiwork, life is short.
very nice job. I believe you have thought of everything! One of the best layouts I have ever seen on RUclips. Nice lighting and cute bath area. I would add only one thing...a 24" roof vent/escape hatch for a second egress point above the beds.
Good point. If you were inside and a car or truck parked right against you, or if a tree fell or whatever. Nice peace of mind. I may look into that for my 6x12.
One of the top examples for design and efficient use of space! Five months to build is impressive! What is the interior height? Is there storage under the bed? The only thing missing is the two hour documentary by Ken Burns on how you built it!
In my opinion that is the best cargo trailer buildout that I have seen so far online. I only have one suggestion. With you exit being at the front and bed in the rear I would suggest putting another fire extinguishers closer to your bed. If you do have a fire I would not want you trapped and not able to reach the extinguisher near the door. Thanks for posting.
This is an amazing conversion! The only thing different that I would do to customize it for myself would be to take out the twin and make clothes storage. You did a fantastic job and I would love for you to do my conversion! 🌻
Best build out I've seen bar none. After watching hundreds of videos, finally someone who puts a shower and everything one needs to live comfortably. Awesome job!!!
Hello, This is probably the best use of space inside a small cargo that I've seen so far. Great job! 😊 The only thing I would have wanted would have been just more space for a separate bedroom and bath. So maybe a 18x9. Other than that it's perfect.
I'm not an rv/TT owner nor nomadic; still doing my homework on what type of camping avenue I'm gonna go in the near future, so after looking at your video & other cargo trailer videos for the 1st time as of last night, I'm now convinced that this avenue is affordable, easier & better for me being that I still live in a apartment & not ready to become nomadic. I have a V8 SUV so I know it should be able to pull a cargo trailer.☺
wow, nicely done and so much better quality than a store bought travel trailer in my opinion.I like that you gave over a pretty decent amount of space to the bathroom, thats a nice thing to have especially when traveling with more than just yourself, good to have a place to get clean and/or take a mean dump in peace lol
Great work! Very thorough and well thought out. Crazy good electronics/wiring job.I'm not a tv-when-I'm-camping kind of person but you are taking a kid so that is important! My ONE honest issue is the towel rack right over the 1800btu furnace vent! You should change that asap so I can sleep at night knowing you are safe and not in flames.
Superior job on both the trailer and the video. Love the layout, bathroom in the right place, bunk, triangle kitchen, just great. Hope you and your daughter enjoy some adventures!
I did a little bit of what you did with my 6 by 12 2005 extra height cargo trailer. It's got Shore power like you have and 12 electrical outlets and I had a queen size bed in it, Chester drawers TV refrigerator microwave toaster oven. Didn't have a water hookup but had a porta potty that's lit up underneath the bed that I built up high enough for storage under there. I just used it to pull back and forth to archery tournaments and to hunting camp. Like you said I just remove the plywood insulated the walls and ceiling put plywood back in and then I put real wood paneling on the walls with real wood trim and I tiled the floor

Awesome trailer, I would move your carbon monoxide detector closer to the floor. Carbon monoxide is heavier than oxygen, so by the time your detector goes off it could be to late.
A great build and great video! I liked how you covered everything, and shared your ideas. Layout is functional and spacious The bathroom was great! Especially enjoyed and marveled at your electrical / solar setup. Too bad you had the continuous music in the background. Best left out. Music is highly subjective. I had trouble hearing you and processing the build with that distraction.
My taste is more modernist but other than that I love it! Great job and you described all the details perfectly and you seem like someone who is decent and tries to get the most out of life.

Wow, I am impressed. I've looked at dozens of cargo trailer conversion video's and I must say, yours is about the best I've seen. The layout makes perfect sense and you have everything you would get in a travel trailer. Would you mind sharing the dollar amount you've invested in this project? Also what did you use for the interior walls once it was insulated? Good job and here's wishing you many enjoyable trips in your camper!
My wife and I are gonna use a portable type A/C. That way we can use a couple different locations inside the trailer. One for day and a different location for night. All you have to do is use a dryer type vent.
It’s a very nice RV with well thought design. It does need an emergency exit window, jvvust in case of door issues. Or Just enlarge one of the two windows.
this has to be the nicest cargo conversion I have seen also the walls and installations are done perfectly nice and clean lines and paint job. you must have some contracting experience.
I didn’t just like this conversion, I absolutely loved it. You did an amazing job, pretty dang spectacular with all of the detail. I love how you’ve closed off the bathroom, which is the way I plan on going. How you did it though, is the best I’ve seen so far. You’ve given me some solid ideas, which I plan on trying incorporating into mine. My mindset is, if you’re going to do it, do it right. We plan on living in it for at least nine months traveling our great country from coast to coast when my husband retires. Yeah, I will be doing most of the work, but I’m sure he will be a big help too when I need it. Thank you for sharing this. Oh, and I loved the special nook you made for your daughter, I’m sure she just loves it! Her own private space, nothing can be better than that. Wishing you lots of great miles and making the best memories with your family. Be well.
FABULOUS setup, LOVE the wiring in the "garage", the fit & finish of your cabinets, the bed setups, the flooring, on-demand hot water, oh heck, just everything!!! Thank you for sharing this...your build skills are superb!!! Cheers, Francisca aka auntifranny
Incredible! This looks amazing! I intend to do something like this in the relatively near future. Your electronics looks quite complex are you an electrician by trade? Just curious cause I am not and I would like to do the electric I installation myself if I can. Great video, thanks for sharing! : )
That's an amazing use of space and not crowded looking at all. Usually you can assume if its wide open that there's no room for storage but its all there. Beautiful job esp for a DIY!
Great looking camper. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen. Do you do carpentry or home improvement for work, or is this skill from hobbling? Just interested. Either way, this is in my top of 10 self-built campers I’ve seen on the Tube. Thanks for sharing.
Fabulous! do you have a secret firearms compartment so if you go to shows, demo's, training, etc and go through states that don't like people like us, you are safe? (yeah, I know - you can't answer this question)
I am planning to build a toy hauler using a 26' V-nose car hauler. Some great ideas in your video. I am an electrician and looking at your electrical setup in the back, looks awesome. Some people really slap this together and it shows you took some time. What first got me thinking about this is looking at the cost of camper trailers and not finding anything that isn't built cheap. Great way to get what you want without breaking the bank and the best part is, it's all registered as a cargo trailer still and taxed accordingly. Great video.
I love this I wish I could afford and knew how to do this. The only thing I would like different would be a mini split system for air and heat, the whole trailer being on solar for permanent boondocking and a composite toilet.
@@WhiteOak26 if you were of a mind to start commercially building these, they will come. Paying the cost that this high quality example would cost to make a profit for your high quality efforts. What people pay for a new Airstream for example shows a willingness to pay for quality. Though my opinion is the quality in even the Airstreams today doesnt match the older units in some ways. Not your daddy's Airstream. Not comparing newer technology necessarily. Its almost universal that new RV buyers are disapointed in the quality of the newer, mass produced RV's. Buy a new one and spend the summer you planned to be camping waiting on the dealer spending the whole season doing warranty work on your "new" camper! And they are not cheap to buy. Big bucks for poor overpriced products is the new RV norm.

Wow..you did a great job getting everything in there that anyone could want to live comfortably.
Very nice build. Looks very professional.
Or
Just enlarge one of the two windows.
this has to be the nicest cargo conversion I have seen also the walls and installations are done perfectly nice and clean lines and paint job. you must have some contracting experience.
How much did the trailer cost, then how much did it cost to make the tiny home?
Be well.
Amazing. Incredible job. How long did the whole job take? What truck do you pull it with?
How much
This is so clever. What a great way to have family camping without the hassle. You did a great job!
After the complete build start to finish, how much did you spend including the trailer, if I may ask?
For fit, form and functionality yours is the best trailer camper I have ever seen. Congratulations... You should be proud!
Nice job!
Beautiful! Your work is amazing!
Fantastic!
You are a genius my friend , you literally built a tiny fully funcional home . I’m super impressed like everybody else.
Take care !
Wow man....Stellar build!
Thoughtful and functional conversion. A job very well done.
Beautifully done and well planned out. Looks very professional. Love it!
Did you insulate all the walls , the floor and the ceiling as well ?
Fabulous! do you have a secret firearms compartment so if you go to shows, demo's, training, etc and go through states that don't like people like us, you are safe? (yeah, I know - you can't answer this question)
One of the best concepts I have seen in these types of builds. Very good set up!
Well done 👍 One outstanding Carpenter. Just amazing. Best regards.
Thank you for this. I just bought an 7.5 by 16 foot cargo trailer. I am so replicating this . It will be my winter project.
WhiteOak 26 thanks man
😊 you said you build “Chester drawers “ I haven’t heard that in years!! 🥰🥰 where are you from?
I liked "vote" instead of volt...
@@WhiteOak26 yep that's what we call them in Texas too...
I love this I wish I could afford and knew how to do this. The only thing I would like different would be a mini split system for air and heat, the whole trailer being on solar for permanent boondocking and a composite toilet.
Wow, I would buy one from you....I would never buy a standard rv....built like $hit
WhiteOak 26 if you outgrew this one I’d buy it! I’m in the market for one now and I like the idea of it being inconspicuous.
