Either they are holding them back for a future update or they didn't want a forza style meta where everyone v12 swaps everything. If the community response is overwhelming they allow easy access to engines.
I do think they are trying hard to avoid the whole 'meta' thing, as I doubt the engine swaps will be as free choice as Forza's.
@@Sideways-Smiling engine swaps will also be limited because they name the engines properly like the mezger Porsche engine but in forza they don't so you'll probably just be able to swap engines from the same manufacturer and not 2jz swap every single car you have
What they should do, is allow engine swaps for any car, but ONLY in SINGLEPLAYER. You're car will not be eligble for multiplayer races.

I also noticed the gtr has a ultra high rpm turbo that is in car settings but not purchasable that will probably push the gtr to 1000 plus horsepower
What's important is that you can't get these roulette tickets through the microtransactions. You get them by playing the game. Otherwise it's Fifa packs all over again

Let's say Tom just plays the game and advances in level like the most of us and then there is Jay who uses the micro transactions to buy most of his cars. Who will progress the fastest in level and get more higher rated gambling tickets and thus has more 'chance' to 'win' high level items?

@@00kazuyaa I know, I completed the cafe in a few days, you do get quite some cars, but then there are 300 left and quite a few cost multiple millions and are only available for a limited time. To get the Porsche I'd like from the legend shop, I'd have to grind the same championship for 5hrs or pay 30€. Compared to GTS, they limited the credit payout a lot on many levels and it feels like it's done to compel the player to buy credits.
Just watch them be introduced in an update.
I'm still hoping for a VR6 engine swap from the old Audi TT to the Golf GTI MK 1. That swap is quite common in Germany.

I'm all for rare engine swaps, makes it more unique. Imagine the feeling getting another engine with a ticket rather than buying it.. Far more rewarding

@@wolfgang_h3t yeah true, I don't see it as something you need though. Imagine the wheel spins on Forza, you don't necessarily want the editions but they're rare as anything so makes it exclusive! Each to their own I guess but I'm excited to get one eventually 😂

Why do people think it's a good system? I should be able to buy whatever I want. It wouldn't ruin the game for online just add restrictions to balance out races, simple.
I don't even think it would ruin online tbh, because it's not like how it used to be on Forza where the V12 that you could swap was the most powerful engine, so I don't even think it would become a 'meta' problem.

Each prize in a roulette ticket should be roughly the same amount so it doesn't feel like the game is screwing you every chance it gets.
Thank god they made it hard to get engine swaps, the devs really always are one step ahead. Now i dont have to worry about seeing more engine swapped vehicles than stock
The chance to have rare engine performance or other rare upgrades through collector points upping the chance I think is actually brilliant. I said the same as you to start with. But then I remember games like destiny etc, where certain load outs become the meta. Same will happen in GT7. Certain cars and upgrades will be meta. So rocking up to a meet or race with something extra ordinary to me sounds like something special

Unfortunately this isn’t the case as of 4/12/22. I’ve been at level 50 for some time and I still get 2,000 credit rewards frequently.
@@somekidfromchi I came to say this exact thing. Despite only owning slightly over half the cars, I’ve maxed out the collector level without a trophy, prize or even an atta boy. No engine swap and I’m still lucky if I get a 3 star ticket, some still one star and most I hit the lowest credits with. Kinda disappointing but still LOVE the game. Looking forward to an update with more races and cars. Also the ability to sell some of my duplicates would be nice, like the 10 Honda beats that I bought to get the trophy before I realized the go karts are cheaper lol

If it's only available through RNG, it doesn't exist for me because I will never get that thing.
I'm kinda glad there's a bit of random chance to it, because it makes swaps more special and rare. Otherwise you'd just get the entire community engine swapping everything with the best engine in the game and that's absolutely dreary.

I’m totally okay with this except for extreme cases. I’d like to see the RNG numbers get increased, wheelspin bonuses being higher (5k-10k credits is diminishing), also them being more frequent. Sure you get one a day from the marathon, but maybe adding additional marathon bonuses like an Ironman distance or something for the 6 star bonuses. I completed menus and feel like I’ll never see a 6 star bonus again, or even the part of my eye. I understand they’re trying to sell credits, but it seems very Grind heavy. Totally okay with rare performance parts being chanced, just make the chances and rewards frequent
I got the Mazda R26b engine from the 787b on a Roulette ticket - it was a pretty amazing win as now I have an RX-7 with nearly 1000bhp!
I would imagine that this is a feature they will expand on in the future - hopefully you will be able to buy engines but it does make sense that only certain conversions are allowed.
Finding parts in the Roulette is stupid though - I won suspension for a 2019 Supra but the game won't let me put them on the 2020 Supra I own even though they are basically the same car!

I can't play everyday... and I can only play for a limited time when I can play. The way this game was marketed it seemed like it'd be a lot friendlier to a casual player like me. Then I experienced the roulette tickets... then there was the update... stuff like this I probably won't be able to experience for like three years if I'm still even playing because it's just so incredibly grindy. Even multiplayer, I seem to have bought the wrong cars before I found out how overpowered the atenza is for example and now I have to grind to get the right cars to be competitive with drivers near my skill level. Obviously future patches will nerf and buff certain cars but this has been an incredibly frustrating experience.

An R34 with all the special parts is a force to be recon (i got very lucky to get those), the stock RB26 can push over 1k of hp with carbon driveshaft and weight reduction 5 and the engine mod stage 5, its too fast but amazing to drive.

There's also a 4rotor swap off course... I also had a 350z screaming at me like a Ferrari but idk how it sounds yet with exhaust upgrade so idk if that rivals car was swapped
Also i'm excited to get titanium rods and pistons or a stage4 turbo kit.
The TI engine internals i especially want for the Initial D version 86 if i ever get it as that will probably make it rev even more to the moon than it does already. Really hope we can get 250 horsies from the 4age like some ppl do IRL

from what I gather, the engine swaps that you win are tied to a specific car. Say you win a Hellcat motor designed to go to a 70 Challenger, you can’t put that engine on any other car. That’s a little underwhelming if I’m honest, but it is what it is.

GT used to about skills, now it's not just only about chance, but the more you spend the more 'chance' you get.
I feel pretty fooled considering the things that were shown in advance vs the thing we got and I believed it all.
In the roulette they could put engine swap into with a few swaps I say total 100 swap to choose from but graded realistically like ls’s, k-series,2jz, etc but by a car and stuff idk

finished the main storey, most of the licences and missions, still have not been able to one engine yet :(... chances seem to be quite tuff, be good if they allow introduce a gift box where you can select an item at certain levels as once u complete the game you only get a ticket for the daily workout now or introduce special daily race that provides a ticket.
I think the roulettes can be fun, got lucky and got 500k, i really enjoy this game, easily my favorite gran turismo game since gt4, the problems with roulettes is that they are no way to earn them besides daily workout after you cleared the books hope their is other ways later to earn them, i am so glad customization is back, hated that about sport
I would hope they have daily or weekly missions to earn them like win a race in Spa with a Toyota or stuff like that but maybe some way to earn them will be added later I sure hope so.
LT1 v8 is from the C4 corvette. C5 got the LS1 and they started going up the LS(X) scale from there.
They ran out of numbers before the C7 generation, so went from LSx to LTx
I think the problem with the roulette tickets is that it appears to be 20% chance each at least visually but not actually. If it were a wheel with 20-30 spaces with the min prize showing up 15 times and the higher prizes less often - to represent the actual odds - people wouldn’t feel as cheated
Or maybe just let you know the odds below each prize, because its obvious its not equal chances, and tho that makes sense it does feel like its "fixed"
This is the case all the way. I'd rather see 3/5 low value items, 1 rare, and one very rare, all with equal odds than this deceiving system. Even if they add a few more slots in to balance it, at least we'd feel rewarded rather than cheated
Until now I only got the lowest possible reward in all my tickets, I'm in menu number 29
I think its better than everyone and their mom just v12 swapping everything like in another game. Plus i think it really adds to the uniqueness of a engine swapped car as they are not common at all plus if you own one itll be of much more value to you. Plus once you get to a higher collector level its a bit easier to get good prizes or at least you wont really be getting any bad spins.

They need to fix the odds for the roulette spins. They’re terrible. It should be even odds for each prize but right now it appears to be a 90% chance for the worst one
I Saved 10 tickets. 8/10 were the lowest prize possible. I think this is the same as what I have heard from most people I know playing GT7 right now.

There is also the R26B from the 747B and to add on the hellcat engine....it can only be equipped to the hellcat i won the engine and its only compatible with the hellcat safety car.
The description was updated as new swaps are found, you can put the Hellcat motor in the 1970 Charger

I got a 13b turbo out of a roulette and the mx5 na is compatible with it
Seen a video with a 4 Rotor swapped FD RX7
The roulette tickets are broken, with most results being the worst prize. I'm not opening them until I have a massive amount built up and assuming that fix the odds.
I've only gotten a good prize spin one time so far where I got a NOS kit. But every single other time I've gotten the lowest possible reward. It's been super annoying.

I saw someone got the Mazda 787b 4 rotor engine and as far as I can tell you can only put that on cars which already have rotory engines, like the Rx series Mazdas. So it doesn't look like you can just throw any engine on any car like Forza unfortunately
I completed all the menus I've had a few times a engine swap popped up and every single time it did I got screwed they need to make them easy to access cause if they don't people will stop playing the game

Received a 2jzgte and swapped it in my s15 making 777hp lol… once you do the swap you get back the original motor from the car you swap. So I used the sr20 on an older gen 240sx. Making 515hp.. the real question is can I get back a engine if I return the car to stock? Or is it deleted?

The prize money is really cheap so far. I would like to see the tickets tradable as well as parts. Even cars, Gran Turismo 5 was great for friends that didn't play as much I could buy them cars with all the parts for races. Also the tuning parts should be for any car. I'm sure they could still have specialty parts that you can only win for specific car too. But I don't need a bunch of sport mufflers for cars I probably won't tune or drive much. With the engine swaps maybe they could make them less limited buy giving voucher for compatible engine swap of any car with that option.
My rewards have been pretty lame too. Even video ive seen on youtube of the rewards have been the same as what I've had. Think the rewards are fixed n not random.

a heads up once you beat the GT 7 league Cup you get a 6☆☆☆☆☆☆ wheel and i got the Mazda 787B engine swap thinking of putting it in the Mazda MX-5 Miata so it can beat any Hyper Car

It would be great if I could buy a new engine, e.g. for a 911, in the tuning shop if I own the car and then store it and use it for another car.
The roulette is a giant mess tbh. The biggest problem is that high star roulettes can still pay out 1 star roulette prices. On four different 4 star roulettes I won 1 Million, then 30k and then 5k two times. The span is just way to high. I'd rather have no roulettes at all than winning stupid prices from supposedly high star roulettes.
I got a silvia s15 engine but the engine is only good for the s15 according to the description so not much of a swap but more like an engine replacement

I’ve played every day since launch, beat the cafe missions and make sure to at least log my daily workout but rarely avg less than 200 miles a day and have only had an engine ONCE and it was on a three star ticket. Did I win it? NOPE. Another smallest credit available prize. I don’t think it should be easy to win like they just did with giving everyone the invitations but they should at least give you one upon completion of the cafe, or a set of missions instead of a car or something. I adore the game, borderline addicted to it but really wanna try out this part of it but can’t……
I was complaining until I won a Gr.1 Porsche, so I've changed my attitude.
I got an engine that I thought was for a swap,but I guess it was a replacement. Like if I have that particular car and want to do the factory reset on the engine I can do it for free. Oh boy.
Maybe you just don't own a compatible car yet, all the engines I've seen won through the roulette have been able to be swapped into something else.
Does anybody know, what you get in the roulette, when you win the little kind of booklet or with the logo of a car brand on it? I’ve seen a lot but have never won one
Its an 'invitation' to buy a car from that manufacturer, usually their most expensive model, without any discount or additional incentive that I can tell - so it's basically useless unfortunately 😂

BRUH, they should have done it like in TXR3 if you want to do an engine swap. You drive your machine until you reached like around a reasonable amount of kilometers/miles then you can swap any engine in it.
Once I unlock nurburgring, I'm definitely driving the jeep willy at night

99% of the tickets i redeem always fall on the smallest money option. Not once have i gotten more than $10k and only once or twice have i gotten a car part. roulette needs a rework
So I have a few engines and it doesn't allow me to install them anywhere. It just fades the install button please help anyone

I love how hard it is to get them. Please people!! Quit complaining! I know the system is ass and they can make it better by having the light spin around the rewards super fast and WE have the option to hit a button that gets it to slow and eventually come to a stop. Please, I don't want this game to become like destiny when people cried over exotic drops.
The graphics of GT7 is breathtaking. But it seems they’ve run out of resources to design a proper game.
So if the reward is based on collector level then I guess I’ll be saving my tickets for a while.
The amount of stars on your ticket determines the prizes, and is based on your collector level at the time of earning them, not redeeming them. So unfortunately that won't make a difference

Not sure, I think it can still vary a bit. I'm currently collector level 21 and haven't had anything higher than 4 stars

This game is sooo fucked and I really want to like it.
I got lucky once or twice, but them tickets are a pain in the ass. I'll give the game a 9/10 for the graphics and overall but the payment part could be a little better. Like I understand they are probably trying to experiment or something but it's not in my favor of how they are doing it.

I don’t believe the engine swaps are a thing at the moment if they plan to add it in the future idk. I have the c7 engine and it explains that i can replace my c7 engine with it if the engine get worn out I guess
It probably only works on a specific old camaro or corvette.

Of all the tickets I only got the worst or second to worst ammount since the game launched. I never got a car and never got an engine. I have stoped even redeeming those tickets because they are just bad and waiting through the animation just to get a dumb price is not werth it.
I just got a Coyote v8 from the Mustang GT and the only compatible car I have is the Mustang GT
