If the game lets you, you should hold a race with viewers using this car with whatever engine swaps ect others want to do to.

you missed a couple power upgrades (bore up, titanium connecting rods / pistons, racing crankshaft and high compress. pistons. This, a couple suspension tweaks (mainly stiffening up the natural frequency, taking off some camber, dropping the ride height if it already hasn't been, adding some rear toe and Anti-roll bar stiffness to mitigate oversteer / understeer) + some differential settings to ease the car's slippery nature and I think that you can beat the Supra's time. Maybe this could be revisited in a later video. Custom rims and wide offset do also produce some more grip (and check for any aero parts, although I doubt there are any that affect downforce for this car in particular), for an added bonus.
I wouldve also thought that due to the sambabus' low downforce, it would gain time by using the banking? Please correct me if I am mistaken
I was wondering if he tweaked the settings. It looked like he just threw parts at it, especially with a 300mm+ ride height. A proper setup might get him in sub-minute lap times.
He also needs to tweak the transmission. it was geared for way too low topspeed.
He could also have used a well positioned ballast to act for weight balancing wherever needed.
This needs to become a series!!
Rory you need to add some stickers for extra horsepower 😂
I heard red paint instantly adds 100HP. Slap on a horse sticker and it adds 200 more HP.
That was painful, maybe some understanding of what they modifications are and how to fine tune them would be more enjoyable

8:01 you changed engine but didn't change suspensions? How do you expect that thing to make the corners fast without lowering it?

A totally modded (not engine swap) Sambabus is a hoot on off road tracks; surprisingly fun.
Reminds me of the old Disney Herbie movies from the 70's, lol. It was a VW Beetle in those of course, but this video still made me laugh my butt off with the way you were passing the other cars for the win at the end.

@Rory .. If you ever use Cockpit for Immesion - PLEASE use "Type2" rather than Type one.
type 1: Camera is mounted to the car
Type 2: Camera is mounted to the drivers head - Wich wobbles more and looks into the direction of corners - wich is awesome.
test it on a Stock AC Cobra down the Nürburgring. Its the best feeling you can get in 2D :)

Why not just stick to what you were doing and keep with the time trial rather than racing ai for the last one. We didn’t get to find out how much quicker the nos made it

By the way Rory, I did a an experiment with a Bugatti Veyron and Chiron. I wanted to see what was better: Carbon Brakes or Racing Brakes. I found at Special Stage X at Top Speed, both cars stopped a little sooner with the Racing Brakes. Feel free to repeat the experiment.

Why not tweak the suspension? Swaybars, height, etc. Diff?
no need for extra steering angle or hydro brake unless your drifting, those things will only make a car slower around a circuit.
You really need to do the Mini with Honda Civic engine swap next and all upgrades. That thing spins in all gears.

You could also try to set it to some kind of F1 suspension. It could be quicker in corners

Am I the only one who noticed that his last lap was like 1 minute, 26 seconds? 16:45 is when it cuts from actual first-person footage so you can't see that lap time he crosses the finish line at 16:53 so 8 seconds and the last of the lap time we see is 1 minutes and 18 seconds so add 8 seconds to 18 is 1 minutes 26 seconds meaning he didn't achieve what he set out to do and lost time between the Nightrus run and max run
