Brilliant the way you put up the tailgate and adjusted the rails to fit in the latches of the tailgate. I watched a lot of videos on the installation of this specific tonneau cover and you’re the only one not struggling with using vice grips or having to readjust after the installation.
As a purchaser of the MX4 who installed it myself, may I please suggest you amend your video to include in detail where to properly place the cover when placing it on the rails. You seem to go quickly past that and from a distance and it would be helpful to know exactly how things should line up at the front and back of the truck bed, including up close shots. I spent a lot of time trying to make sure I lined things up correctly and was unsure the entire time. It could mean the difference between a properly installed cover and an improperly installed cover.

I have installed mine and ended up having to purchase a second one due to it leaking and becoming extremely heavy which I’m guessing was due to the rain that somehow got into the cover. No matter what I do I can’t seem to keep it from leaking in the corners at the tailgate ends. It’s driving me crazy. I had the same issue with the first mx4 cover as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
@@Wise-Tech33I just installed one on my 2022 Chevy 1500. Unless I seal the sides of the tailgate, the corners will always leak to a small extent. I’ve also noticed it’s hard to get everything adjusted just right. It was after dark, so tomorrow in daylight I’m going to loosen all the bolts and make necessary adjustments.

I put a drop of pink Loctite onto the buckle screws as I have seen them loosen up from vibration. Never an issue with the pink Loctite and all I do is snug up the Phillips screws with a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
My MX4 will be here next week - can't wait to get it on the truck

Do not place the bumpers at the edge of the cover. Leave space so it will rest properly in the rail.

My 2018 Tacoma came with a bed liner installed,any special instruction re the drain tubes?
Make sure you leave space on when u apply the bumpers for the window 3” so it will sit flat. This video doesn’t mention it. The one by bakflip does.....
I would say put that weatherstrip as close to the bed as possible
How safe is cargo? It seems someone could use a wire hanger from the outside to pull cord.
What is the difference in the G2 and the MX4? Is one newer, or is one better/stronger?
How can I adjust it? Mine shifted towards the back

Do you have remove the existing side rails that comes with the tundra or you attach the new system into the existing one??
Hey there! This cover will work and come with the necessary hardware for the Toyota rails.
Looking to invest on a diamond back instead looks much tougher than this MX4
What if you have a bed liner in the bed cause the stick on tape would have to be stuck to the bed liner not the bed it's self?
If you have a spray in bed liner then you would need to use an adhesive promotor to ensure that the seal sticks to the bed.
Could you stick the tape to the BAkflip side in that case?

Do you have to install the drain tubes? do they prevent a lot of water from getting in?
BAK does recommend you install the drain tubes - they will help prevent water from getting into the bed from the rails.

DO you lose any tiedowns when installing this on a 2017 Honda Ridgeline? I heard you have to remove some of the tiedowns.
With any tonneau install on the Ridgeline, you will have to install the rails into the tie down locations. I have heard of customers reattaching some of the tie downs, however, we have not done this ourselves.
Not a secure cover, you can look/reach in. Bought a MX4 and you can lift the cover at the hinge points that don't lock onto the rail. Would be a great cover if it could not be lifted.
I don't think you have it installed correctly. Mine can't be lifted at the hinges. It snaps in nicely. Every hinge point has a lock.

Obviously you lose your back window view when Bakflip is fully open. Not sure I like that.

What is the proper way to install the elevator bolts and corresponding washers? This video shows the rubber washer on top, however the official Bak video shows the rubber washer on bottom... ruclips.net/video/a2EWr80hrMM/видео.htmlm20s
You would want the rubber washer at the top. This way when you tighten the star knob down you do not damage the cover. It isn't going to affect anything else if you install it a different way.
