Those of us who grew up on this are blessed to this day to have been a witness to this amazing music as it unfolded.

There will be imitators but there will never be a voice that epitomizes Southern Rock/Blues like Gregg Allman. He had everything and now we have memories.

I COMPLETELY agree but do not discount the sound of those 2 SCREAMING Les Paul guitars. It is the whole combo. Gregg Allman, and the 2 "Lead" guitars. Dickie Betts is one of the most UNDERRATED great guitarists of all time. Duane Allman is on every list and was a virtuoso, but Dickie played all those songs and many more and the group did not exactly suck. Think about taking away Slash from Guns and Roses, Eddie Van Halen away from Van Halen, or (RIP) look what actually happend to Lynard Skynrd and you will see what I mean. The Allmans lost a top 10 (ish) all time guitar player and still went on for decades--because of how great Dickie Betts is (was). Pretty remarkable.
@@drjsmajor Not Screaming.. SINGING guitars. Allmans never had screamy anything.. It was always SINGING sounds. Dickey is not underrated, not at all.

That's not at all true. Believe me, there is more than what is on the radio when it comes to current music. Also, I grew up on this music as well, because my mom introduced me to all the greats.
