    • @petersusia1

Bo Biscuit man I stress on that too. I started by memorizing all the streets and what directions they run on my normal routes of travel and that made me feel a lot more confident. Also establishing roads that point north, south etc and using them for reference point so you always know your compass. It helped me out a lot

Thanks for such good, informative video. I would also include to your viewers to choose their Department wisely. I made the mistake of signing on with the first Department that took an interest in me, and it turned out to be a mistake / bad fit. Now I have to disclose that bad fit each time I apply at a new Department. In some cases I spend more time talking about the bad fit, then getting an opportunity to promote myself as a good fit for the new Department which seems to be keeping me from getting hired.

Drake just to warn you. I work for a sheriffs office. The sheriff is a political job and remember he only stays in if voted in. Many decisions about how things operate are dictated by the election.
In my dept, all the deputies were told I be “very selective” of who you give a ticket to, which means, don’t piss off a republican voter that resides in that county. It’s all bullshit that deputies can’t do their jobs sometimes becuase they are worried about voting

Hey 401! If you’re looking for a good mic I’d recommend the RØDE NT1 or 2. It’s a condenser and is good quality! Also, you can eq out some of the rumbling noise and stuff in the post recording by using what’s called a hi pass filter (which the NT2a has on the mic itself). Also the NT2a has a selection to choose how it takes in sound, Omni, cardioid, or figure 8. Super great mic and relatively inexpensive! Also, I’m in no way affiliated with RØDE. I don’t work for them or anything! Just a sound nerd

I plan on going to nypd. My father started out as housing in ‘92 and had to force retire in ‘06

Hay man hope all is well. Could you possibly do a video on how and Agency chooses their graphics for Patrol cars and if there are standards. Thanks for the channel.

Could you talk about your experiences with different patrol cars (i.e dodge charger or crown vic, etc)

I know it has been a long time since you have done a car vlog but I think personally this is a good idea. Maybe you could hop in your daily car and go for a ride and film it and tell us what you see as a cop, or what you notice about people driving or other things that regular civilians probably wouldn’t notice like “hey that guy didn’t have a seat belt on, was eating a monster burrito and texting while going 3 mph over the speed limit” when we just see some dude driving by. Hopefully this helps for an idea or maybe I’m just rambling 😂😅

Hey 401! Great content as always! I had a question about the difference between a Sheriff’s “Office” and a Sheriff’s “Department.” Is there a difference between the two terms when referring to a Sheriff’s Police Agency??? Or are they mean more or less the same thing? I’ve noticed that most southern states refer to it as a Sheriff’s Office, while other states, such as California, refer to it as a Sheriff’s Department. What’s the deal?

You should do a video about state patrol vs county police

Just applied to one of the departments I was able to. In one year, I’m going to apply to the rest of them when I’m 21

I might have to think twice about being a Massachusetts Statie. Brings a new perspective, but electric blue does look good on a uniform and a cruiser....
