A little tip for adding pouches that have "slide-through" loops. The safelife belt, like many modern duty belts, is an inner/outer system with a hook-and-loop attachment between the two. When sliding the outer belt though the pouch loop you will want to have something between the 'hook' surface of the outer belt and the pouch loop you are trying to slide it though. If you buy a pouch from Safariland or Bianchi they come with a little plastic shim holding the pouch onto the display. Just stuff it between the two surfaces with the 'tabs' in the direction you are sliding the pouch. If you don't have one of those shims, you can just use a folded piece of paper and it will have the same effect. Makes the process much easier and prevents the pouch loops from getting all 'fuzzy' from the 'hooks' pulling on the material.
I have searched and searched as a daunting task to find experienced people doing no bull shit videos that are actually tutorial and explains tools and gadgets and gear. Finally!!! Thank you for that. Gonna binge watch a few videos now, hopefully all equally as good as this one.
Tip in getting through molle webbing without butter knife, as for belt, reverse the belt and bend, so the molle will open itself, same as vest, remove plate, bend and go in
After looking through various deceiving descriptions, YOU are the only one to actually illustrate the entire set up from ASSEMBLING THE BELT to how to put on the equipment. I never used this type of set up before, I used Sam Browne but now I am plain clothes. Thanks and well done!
My department doesn't use molle unless you're SWAT, too tactical looking, not friendly enough i guess. Soon we'll have to have cross draw duty weapons and fuzzy handcuffs so criminals don't get upset
Georgio Henderson dude I deal with the same shit at my department. They rather us have back problems that to attach our stuff to a Molle vest. I’ve said it over and over again, if a police officer is comfortable in their uniform, they will be more proactive.
@@joshwales1363 they do make straps you attach to your belt and go over your shoulders, helps take the load off your hips. You need an outer vest to hide the straps though.
Georgio Henderson yeah I’ve seen those before, so far my solution has been a lot of stretching and minimize the amount of gear that should stay on my belt. Keep it simple and prioritize what should stay on.
@@joshwales1363 The back problems comes from sitting in the patrol vehicle with the duty belt on. The Molleys on the outer vest is just as bad, because most of us load all of our gear on the front side including multiple mags, taser, molleys, cuffs, etc etc causing imbalance of weight on the front. There is really no way around the back problems with the all the gear we carry, regardless of the vest or not. Also, youre right...80 percent of departments will never switch to outer vest. Many are still traditional, and the other reason is that it looks too menacing
and yet the military guys are adding war (duty) belts to their kit to take things off their plate carrier to put on the belt to take the weight off their shoulders

Hey check out this molle duty belt. Proceeds to put on a bunch of non molle items on the belt and the one molle item that is put on the belt, almost no cop puts on their duty belt.
I had a radio belt pouch like that for about 6 months in 1983, when it was issued after the academy, after that it was a square black metal that was purchased at a police supply in Austin, Texas. Ive never used the word “Molly” except to mention the first girl that popped my cherry, and “Cobra” only to mention the Ford Mustang Cobra, that always out ran our Po-lice cars. We were issued a Bianche River belt rough duty for daily use, and a traditional Bianche Sam Browne for “Dress Use”, 8 keepers, 4 for each belt all with BRASS buttons and all the cases from handcuffs to OC spray to every accessory case must have a BRASS button to close pouches & keepers & every buckle including pistol threat level 3 Bianche, and new duty belts purchased must have brass, and has to be polished with BRASSO and an old sock, before inspection at “ traditional MUSTER” shift by watch Commander & shift Sergeants. I only purchased 1 other River Belt, through the same uniform company that mailed our stuff when I first began in 1983, but when I first started my waist was a 32” and now at 55 my waist is 34” since I was 48 years old, and had to have a saddle maker punch out 2 other holes in my leather rough duty, and the Dress Sam Browne only had to have the square buckle moved forward to accommodate my 34” waist as I got older. I never moved up to first line Supervisor/Sergeant, but stayed as Senior Corporal, which isn’t any kind of Supervision position. On 11/18/2019 I now have 36 years still in Patrol Division, never worked “undercover” or in any tactical, etc except traffic Division for 2 years, other than that I still work assigned shifts 1 man marked patrol unit. I always liked the Chevy Police Patrol sedans and second to Chevy was the Ford LTD 2 sedan Police Pkg when I first started because it had a hopped up Police package and a 460 CID Engine, no sports car could out do us in pursuits, and since our Metro Department is in the middle of the state of Texas, even when I started in 1983, the car issued was a 1979 LTD II 4 door sedan Police Interceptor the LTD CROWN VICTORIA was different and much heavier than the LTD II Patrol Sedan. Every single Patrol car had complete “BRUSH GUARDS” that covered entire grill & lights & looked exactly like the Ford pickup truck Brush-guards except didn’t have the bottom PIT Bars that are prevalent now in Police Car grill guards, simply because the PIT maneuver didn’t come around until the 90’s & CHP sent Driver Instructors from the CHP academy to teach Texas driving instructors & taught through out the states, so we could have a tool in stopping vehicles attempting to abscond during Police chases. We were wrecking while shooting at tires & forcibly wrecking into violators vehicles. But thank you young man, for sharing your Department’s methodologies, but I’m glad our department doesn’t allow beards, ear rings, any rings , or anything that doesn’t look professional on a Traditional Police Officer, except military regulated mustaches, no sideburns.
I said that because l have officers in my family but if it didn't have officers in my family i still would feel the same way if I didn't have officers in my family since I was a child I been watching TV shows with cops 8 always been fascinated with law enforcement 🚔
Blazing sadles. I saw a SWAT/CERT pin on the old vest. time to switch to the patch version. Good video for those that are new to MOLLE/PALS and outter vests.
I’m glad that I was able to watch that video you answered some of my questions, and I may have more in the near future. I’m about to buy my 2nd safe life vest so that I can carry more on top,the vest and belt you just demonstrated I’ll keep you informed once I get my gear and start setting everything in place,Again I enjoyed the video.
Well l bought the Safe Life Defense vest last year and l'm happy, now l'm going to retire my nylon duty belt that l was issued in 2000 and buying a Safe Life Defense duty belt for patrol. Well the wife is a little upset, but l need new gear. Good videos.
One suggestion I have is to actually reverse the direction the belt goes through the cobra buckle. This will result in the extra belt on the inside and once tucked into the elastic keeper, will result in a much cleaner, kept, and professional look.
Have you considered showing him the new RDS holster from Safariland? It's a new duty holster that protects the RMR while it's in the holster so it's ready to go and doesn't get dirty while doing day to day.
Everyone sets their gear up differently. There’s this cop from Las Vegas PD that created the Hendi Duty Gear method. He did a lot of research and worked on the method for years. That’s how I set my gear up. You guys might want to think about looking at it.
His system doesn't take into account the ability to put things on a vest that is now available and proven by science to reduce back injuries. It's great in most respects if you are restricted to just a duty belt and are a fairly skinny guy.
That Blackhawk Molle attachment for the Serpa taser holster really takes up a lot of pals webbing. There are much better options out there today. I run the “Zero 9” taser holster on both my duty vest and SWAT kit. Takes up minimal space and is a well thought out holster.
I love my safelife TUC IIIa+ it is great.. helped my back so much pain has stopped for the most part and getting all that equipment off my hips has helped my sciatica too.
I ended up ordering the SafeLife Uniform Shirt molle carrier. It was a decent product but the issues I ran into were my Point Blank ballistic panels did not fit in the Safelife carrier. The chest pockets were kind of small. Not enough storage for everything I carry in them: cards, earpiece, mic clip, pens, etc. And major thing was there wasn't any sort of pocket on the inside of the carrier for a 5x8 trauma or rifle plate. Any thoughts on that? Asking as a reviewer, not a rep>
Hey man I know it’s a year later. You probably already found this out but point blank cuts their armor different than everyone else. It almost makes it proprietary to their carriers. I also bought a safe life carrier. Lots of molle rows, but not having pockets killed it for me. My point blank also has chest pockets and those are shallow too
The unicorn mug! LOL Interesting choice of mag pouches and the height he carries his gun at, is he a competitive shooter? What does a LEO use a dump pouch for?
The dump pouch is mostly for training. Guys like to be able to stash mags in one. I had one on swat, it was pretty useful on scenes to be able to stash shit on yourself you needed at the last minute. Sandwiches, water bottle, hand warmers, gum, ect. We didn't always have a cargo pocket to put stuff in. I've never needed one on patrol though.
Good video! Keep it up. I just got a molli vest carrier and I'm gonna start experimenting with how I want it set up. My radio and my taser are the 2 biggest points of friction on my gear set up now. They are on my belt, it feels like a long reach across my body for taser, which I hate, and my radio gets snagged on my seatbel everytime i get out of my squad. I hate that, especially when I'm trying to get out fast or get out quietly. Gets in the way of my flow everytime. Needs to be fixed. Thanks again!

I have an outer carrier and live in the south where it rains quite a bit leaving my vest soaked. Have you ever tried to waterproof one before? I was thinking about trying Scothgard.
The one I have is big enough to fit a gallon in, works great for holding everything from empty mags and keeping items off a suspect to literally holding a gallon of water
MOLLE has got to be the best invention since the wheel. Allows for full on customization and it holds strong when installed correctly. I refuse to go back to a traditional duty belt and standard uniform shirt carrier.
Wow I have a clip with my Morphing Karambit like the single mags attached to the duty belt. I didn't know I could slide the button to make it not detach itself accidentally.
I want to be a Police Officer and I would pick the Vest Carrier when I become a cop and the things that I would put on the Vest are Handcuffs Pepper Spray,Magazines,Flashlight Asp and Radio on the Vest and I would put the Firearm,Taser,Tourniquet and Glove Pouch on the Belt
Not a fan of the molle belt. Where I live for winter you gotta adjust your belt out to loosen it up when wearing layered clothes. Having everything too locked down on your belt would suck because everything would be out of place from loosening it up and taking the stuff all apart vs just sliding it around because if you have the Velcro marry system it stays in place anyways especially with keepers . Molle for the vests are a great thing but the belt not so much. Too bad it’s only been the last few years that services where I live allow molle vests and to attach gear. It’s great for weight displacement to save your back and body from strain from wearing too much in one place via a bunch of shit around your waist.
I use the G-Code RTI MOLLE adapter for my vest mounted Taser. I find the mount takes up far less space and allows you to remove the Taser holster if needed. The Blackhawk mount takes up far too much room and is not nearly as versatile.
I recently moved up from unarmed to armed security, and my company requires me to carry a taser in addition to my weapon, my question is, should my mag pouches go infront of the taser or behind? I'm right ha ded so my weapon is on my right, the taser on my left for crossdraw
I love the set up but I was just wondering the handcuff cases who makes them where did you get them from I’m very much so interested in ordering a pair. Although I know this video is a couple of years old or really just one year old I already have the identical belt and magazine pouches!

What do u recommend for a new cop to work for State Trooper, City police or Sheriff's and do you recommend work for security for about a year or two then become a police officer or just go straight to the Academy
I worked security while applying to departments, the hiring process is very long and difficult at times, lasting several months at minimum. I wouldn't say working security is necessary to becoming a cop. In my opinion working security didn't make me a better candidate. However, the most valuable thing I learned while working security was how to talk to people while enforcing rules. I would recommend working security for awhile if you are too young to join an academy or a department. The best thing you can do for yourself is apply to departments that sponsor your academy. They tend to be more competitive to get hired but it saves you a couple thousands of dollars in the end. Good luck
just go to academy. security jobs are for you in the time frame you get out of school and cant get into law enforcement right away. Get into the pension system asap! If you dont want to go right into law enforcement, corrections would help with skills more than security.
Great video sir, just purchased a safelife tactical belt and i like those mag carriers. You said there was a discount code down below but I couldn’t find anything. Could you maybe please provide that code? Thank you
I completely understand your reasoning for putting your comm's on the belt & I did the same until I recently went for a swim in full kit (I was able to get my vest off quickly) our brand new 2k dollar department issued radio was soaked but luckily Motorola is kick-ass & after dry off, packing in rice,& a fresh battery is still working for me as of today at work .. to each his own & whatever works for you works for you but I've since moved around some kit & comm's now reside in my plate carrier ... I love those kydex mag pouches & was looking at their site earlier today & I'm sure I'll head a couple .. I run the HSGI triple mag Taco with 2 mag's in the front 2 Taco's & my Gerber multi tool in the 3rd Taco .. I have a single HSGI Taco with another G17 spare shtf mag on the vest.. you gent's carry no OC ? I don't enjoy using my OC spray but I trust it over the Taser anyday .. I ordered the Safelife molle belt a few days ago & can't wait to set it up

I got you dude: ruclips.net/video/09LFZ-1_HNU/видео.html
That’s very cool I like the duty belt
Thank you. Great video. Lots of good practical info!
Nice video as always! Good job!
Where did he get those slick handcuff cases? I have been looking all over but can’t find them
The handcuff cases I really like with that clip system. Where did u find those?
I have an outer carrier and live in the south where it rains quite a bit leaving my vest soaked. Have you ever tried to waterproof one before? I was thinking about trying Scothgard.
Where did you get the handcuff carriers with the locking attachment from? (Leo)
Eclipseholsters
Taser holster is made by Blackhawk, not Bladetech 😉

What is the guys plan with having the dump pouch? Not knocking it, just wondering what the thought process is.
I use one, but more as storage...When i frisk/search sb. so, nothing lays on the ground or gets lost.
The one I have is big enough to fit a gallon in, works great for holding everything from empty mags and keeping items off a suspect to literally holding a gallon of water
Evidence collection and such
Ok thanks. Do you guys have a rollable one like his or is it just a regular pouch that hangs out?
@@Andrew-wj2mc I had a rollable one in the army... I don't use one as a LEO
MOLLE has got to be the best invention since the wheel. Allows for full on customization and it holds strong when installed correctly. I refuse to go back to a traditional duty belt and standard uniform shirt carrier.
Did you mil the slide out for the RMR?
Judging from the video that pistol is the Sig Sauer P320. The P320 slides come with the mounting plates for optics like the RMR.
Can you drop a link for the handcuff pouches you used?
eclipseholster.com.
You are the best cop I have seen. God bless.
Wow I have a clip with my Morphing Karambit like the single mags attached to the duty belt. I didn't know I could slide the button to make it not detach itself accidentally.
Do you have the link to the handcuff holders? And how secure are they? I figure during a scuffle they may fall out? Have you tried them?

I want to be a Police Officer and I would pick the Vest Carrier when I become a cop and the things that I would put on the Vest are Handcuffs Pepper Spray,Magazines,Flashlight Asp and Radio on the Vest and I would put the Firearm,Taser,Tourniquet and Glove Pouch on the Belt
Could I have the old radio
I’m seeing the handcuffs cSe is from eclipse. When you look they only show a 1.75” attachment but the belt is 2” wide. How does that work?
What was his old vest? The one at the beginning of the video?
Dang that’s some nice gear there congrats
Good show!
Also for the hand cuff pouches where can I purchase those. I have the safelife defense belt and I like the setup you did.
Right but can it pepperspray kneecaps or taze door knobs?
Mmmm didn't think so 😎
how bout some velcro on the tech locks? the more tech locks you use, the easier it is to slip under motion with a belt like that.
What is the brand of his old vest I like the setup. It reminds me of the safelife defense molle uniform vest style
I use the G-Code RTI MOLLE adapter for my vest mounted Taser. I find the mount takes up far less space and allows you to remove the Taser holster if needed. The Blackhawk mount takes up far too much room and is not nearly as versatile.
great video, informative and a good laugh!
I can tell by the design of that new vest that you went to Eagles. If you know you know.
Love this I need organization of gear
We just got this being sent to my department
Awesome video very informative!
Great information thanks !!
Cool coffee cup..!
What town dose he work for
Great video thanks for the free content!
I recently moved up from unarmed to armed security, and my company requires me to carry a taser in addition to my weapon, my question is, should my mag pouches go infront of the taser or behind? I'm right ha ded so my weapon is on my right, the taser on my left for crossdraw
Does that Safelite vest have a place for a backup weapon? If so could you do an in depth review of it?
No sir it doesn’t.
Tommy, I keep telling you: "Monadnock" is pronounced "mon-ODD-knock". Please. You're killing me here. :P
They are located here in NH, it is moh-nad-nock though it's often pronounce ma-nad-nock.
I love the set up but I was just wondering the handcuff cases who makes them where did you get them from I’m very much so interested in ordering a pair. Although I know this video is a couple of years old or really just one year old I already have the identical belt and magazine pouches!
Where is his gear pouches from
Gotta fix those mags for him lol.
Where did you get the gun
He probably got it from a gun store lol
@@abc4781 but you dont have to get it from the gun store i recently got one from a guy he had a couple cheap and a coupke expensive af and he had a gold ak but that was too much fckin money
Nice, I've been looking for a new set up.
also, where can I find those cuff holders?
I ordered the Safelife molle belt a few days ago & can't wait to set it up
What's that in the 3rd magazine? I have yet to see a magazine that looks like that
AllIWantIsFinancialStability looks to be an extension baseplate to add 1 or 2 capacity.
I think he has bullets in it but I'm not sure lol I could be wrong.... let's face it , you walked into that one.
And also what are the names of the handcuff cases again?
