Very heroic police officer saved my life in 2011. No one heard, didn't make headlines or the news, wasn't on social media. Bad cops victimizing communities treating human beings like they aren't, only get coverage. Media should cover brutality extensively just not to the exclusion of all else. Thank you for this video and raising awareness.

At any other time period, a person was much more likely to victim of violence, but if all you do is watch TV, you will think that it is unsafe to ever leave your home.

I 100% agree. I'm no longer certified, but I definitely see how often EMTs are forgotten. Obviously we don't do it for the recognition (or the pay if there is any lol), but it's still nice to not be forgotten!

Not quite sure how I stumbled across this video. As a currently serving police officer, I love that you dove into this without bias and published it for the world to see. The individuals (officers) in this video are very good at explaining the tactics used and it shows that they have a passion for training and putting on the streets the best possible police recruits.

@@oooqwe5350 I'm an MP in the Army and had to go through being tased/OC (pepper spray)/cs gas chambers multiple times/asp or baton training/shooting ranges, etc. Didn't cry for any of that, except i guess for OC Spray, You don't really have a choice, but honestly, OC spray will make a bitch out of anyone.

very new to your videos, going down the rabbit hole now after your collab with Michael Reeves. I admire how much variety of occupations you go out and try, You show when youre intimidated, you show vulnerability, and you're open and honest with everyone, especially this video with how police have become something people fear, but you had an open mind and open dialogue with these officers. @@emiliajones8090 Most academies don't the Taser certification anymore, it's usually handled by your department. But much rather be tased than have a OC spray exposure. The pain of the taser is greater, but only last 5 minutes than you feel like a million dollars and it's over.

I have a lot of respect for you to go and experience the other side of a conversation to fully understand what is being discussed. A lot of people only listen to one side or another and don’t research everything before making a conclusion.
The people who are calling her dramatic for her reaction to being tased and pepper sprayed clearly have never experienced either.
I've actually thought about becoming a cop before but I decided against it, not because of what people think about cops (I love cops, don't get me wrong) but because I have epilepsy and can't drive or be tased, and all that jazz. I'll just stick to loving and lifting them up. 🤗😂👍❤️❤️❤️

Being pepper sprayed is one of the most painful things I've ever encountered- the first time it happened to me I could stand up for nearly five minutes. I can't even begin to imagine how it would feel being tased.
I've been OC sprayed and tased and I think she is acting like it's worse than it is.
Nah, she exaggerated the spray, no one in my whole academy class acted as bad as she did. Sure it effects some people more but she just blindly flailed at the bag.
To be honest I can easily imagine her as an officer.

In the beginning with the boat and stuff it reminded me of this one time where me and my friends were sitting on the sid of the road next to a ditch and this cop who lived in the sub division I think slowed down and shouted out "you guys should move more into the ditch because you someone might come speeding around the corner and clip you" and I didnt feel embarrassed one bit I felt normal like it was just a cop doing their job protecting people (I was still in elementary at the time by the way) we all even laughed a bit about it and that possibly saved our lives so yeah
I think that these “Challenge Accepted” videos are incredible. Michelle is putting herself in situations that likely few people, if any, would want to be in. Especially in this video, how many people will willingly be pepper sprayed or tazed. I’m awestruck at her courage to do these things for education. I really had no idea what all went into being on the police force. For her to do this with no interest in being an officer is so amazing. Thank you Michelle for all of these videos, for putting yourself in these situations to inform and entertain.

as much as i enjoyed watching this video, as I felt sad to see only 12 million views. this type of production should be shown by at least 100 million taking into consideration that Michelle went through rough experiments, and test to show her audience what those heroes goes through daily to keep the community safe.
this is really interesting. im not from or in America (i know police brutality goes beyond America but it's where i see almost all the media coverage, so although i am aware of it else where, I don't have the same context), i stepped back from social matters and the blm movement during lockdown for my mental health and i haven't been able to go back yet. seeing Michelle actually address her relationship and conflicted feelings around the police is really interesting. I think we need police, but theres so many flaws within the system - who they hire, the power they are given, and the lack of accountability to name a few. its a severely nuanced situation, but i appreciate Michelle's honesty here
My dad's a police chief, and he brought me to the station when I was really young for "bring your kid to work day." He was training a new police officer and forgot to put me on watch inside his office. So I ended up going outside where the newbie was half throwing up and crying with all fours on the ground from the same routine they did with the pepper spray, and I started bawling my eyes out because I remember myself thinking that he was about to die.

The fact the Michelle was able to shoot is amazing I shot a pistol a sniper a shotgun and I think an ar something I was scared to shoot the sniper but I told myself you only live once so I shot the target with a sniper but the fact that Michelle is this brave tells you and everyone that you can do anything if you put your mind to it!

@@robertct06 a few years in training will do the trick. She will start to realise how much of a threat a violent person will be towards her and her colleagues. There is really no need or time to be sympathetic to a person who wishes harm on you. At that point everything she learned will flow out.
Remember some of the toughest people out there were too nice to begin with.
But then again her nicer side can be a medium in her department. Imagine if all police were brutal....people suddenly wont feel safe anymore.

As someone that wants to become a police officer, I know the police academy is no joke. Your experience in the SDPD academy gives me an inside of what to do before I have to don the uniform and badge.

I cried so much when the officer was recalling his story of being shot at. I cannot imagine being in a situation like that. We should all thank the police officers that are helping communities all over the world
YES we 100% need to thank the people who serve us even through such stressful situations and work hard to keep us safe!! i feel that today people no longer are thankful for the protection police give us. imagine a world without police. crime would be everywhere and no one would be safe. we NEED to be thankful.
