This video was amazing. I would love to see more things like this. maybe a video about different law enforcement certifications? one being the one you mentioned - to use this software.
My son was parked with his engine not running at a gas pump waiting for his passenger to pay/put money on the gas pump. A police officer pulled up behind him and ran my son's vehicle plate number on his MDT screen. For what ever crazy reason, the screen showed WANTED PERSON. The warrant later ended up being for an entirely different individual. My son did not have any warrant amd had not been in trouble for 9 years. At any rate, rather than verifying the hit, or asking dispatch to verify, the officer, in his zeal, walked up to my son's driver window and asked him to step out of the car. My son said, "Is there a problem?" The officer told him he had a felony arrest warrant but refused to tell him what it was for. My son was afraid by the cop's amgry and rude manner. He asked Cop to please check again, then asked for a Supervisor. The officer screamed at him (I saw the body cam footage).. And breached tbe glass of the window, tasered my son in tbe heart area..and instead of asking dispatch to verify the warrant or waiting for a supervisor, he asked for back up units bevause my son was "not cooperating". Before 5 minits had passed, my son was kicked, beaten, tazed..and hand cuffed. THEN the supervisor arrived and said do NOT RESTRAIN him, he doesnt have a warrant. But it was too late...the cops discoved evidence on my son, towed his car for evidence, booked him in jail amd the jail nurse was mean amd said he didmt need medical attention. At any rate, they charged my son with a felony posession and are saying he cant supress the evidence...amd just plea to a felony or they will take away the plea deal if he tries to file a suppression motion. 10 months later, that same officer fatally shot a man that had a baseball bat, had dropped it and had his hamds in the air..... but tbe prosecuter is sayimg the cop acted reasonable and put the cop back to work. Apparently this same cop has a history of this but the bosses amd prosecuter refuse to do amything. I think this officer will kill again. Is he justified by acting "reasonable"? I was told DO NOT GO TO THE FBI WITH THIS....NOT TO TALK TO THEM OR FILE COMPLAINT. Anyhow, I reckon we cam't fight city hall amd will maybe talk to civil lawyers. Our system is sad
This guy is like the opposite of a narc. Instead of spilling his guts to the police about citizens, he's spilling his guts to citizens about police. My guy 🤝

I used to be a dispatcher in Middle Tennessee & this is a great video; spot-on. Very insightful for the general public. That was without a doubt, the most stressful job I've ever had.
I wrote CAD software and worked on what was called the "mobile" version which was just the software that runs on the laptops in the cars. The other version the dispatchers used - it was the full featured windows desktop application. The mobile version was a desktop application too - but it was full screen and locked and a single window, the dispatchers could open several windows at once. Two of the features I remember fondly were BOLO and record check. They were very challenging to test - both have very strict security requirements.
@@kevinsaccomano7909 Ease of use was one of our driving mandates. An officer needs information fast and without a lot of cognitive overload when in the field. There's enough the officer has to worry about while responding and the last thing we want is for the officer to be delayed or worse, put in danger, because of the software. Officer safety was always paramount, but ease of use was our next important goal. That goes for all first responders, but it's typically LEO who are first on the scene.
@@izzyplusplusplus1004 It was my pleasure. I thank LEO and other first responders every day. Just the other day I was listening to the scanner and there was a call that had officers combing through a ravine. They had a K9 Officer with them, but all officers, including the K9, still put themselves in danger to find someone who just robbed a victim at gun point. You officers put your lives on the line every day for us and if I can do anything to make that job safer and easier I will. Thank you.
Yeah I was wondering this myself until now, this is a lot of information the cops gotta go through lol. Before this I thought they were scrolling through facebook or something
Supreme court ruled a traffic stops should take no longer than 20 min. If you think they are gonna call a dog when they come to your door stall for as long as you can before he gets a dog there in that 20min window
they should add more realism to cops, and i don't mean traffic stops and those laws, but i think they should add more of a fear factor and a choice of paying to go to jail, run, or die
How refreshing...A cop that demonstrates "transparency". Most cops in America could definitely learn from you. The "us against them" attitude that is the general rule isn't doing anyone any good. Keep it up,we need lots more like you!
Im so glad this came up on my recommendations because I'm hooked on your channel now. Ive been binge watching your videos for days now. I have no plans on being a cop but its so cool seeing a perspective of a cop that's personalized. Keep up the great work!

I have dislexia too, but mine is VERY specific, and only happens with numbers. When the dislexia kicks in, I get all the numbers correct, but I flip the 2 numbers after the first digit. For instance 12345 changes to 13245. I tripped out when I first discovered that. Now I'm a lot more careful. Luckily I catch it 99 percent of the time. I'm actually very gifted in the math department aside from that one quirk.

I've got a question about something that's been troubling the communities. I do not apologize if anyone feels this is wrong of me. rights don't end where feelings begin. I always hear about "officer safety" and you see them say it about everything. A wii remote is an officer safety issue. Someone recording police is an officer safety issue. Everything in the eyes of the thin blue line is an "officer safety issue" But what I never have ever heard in the decades of me living is, "citizens safety", "civilian safety" or any issues about it. Never it being a citizen safety issue that cops drive playing solitaire on their laptops or hit a cyclist while they're texting and driving. Never it being a citizen safety issue when the wrong house has been raided and the occupants killed because they were defending their home from persons breaking in with use of violence. Never a citizen safety issue when a cop high tails it out of his patrol car unloading a magazine into a 15yr old boy, before ever saying, "stop!" Never a citizen safety issue when officers know they're breaking laws, violating people or worse... Murdering them. Where is the safety for citizens? Could someone please help me understand where this "safe place" is? I see yellow and black signs at places where police reside. They have figures of what look to be people hugging and the words "safe place" below. But I yet to find an officer who genuinely cares for citizen safety The officer who is looking to help citizens be on there way and down the right path. Not in handcuffs for something petty or that they didn't do. Or worse, dead on the ground for "not complying and officer safety" THE only reason there was ever an "officer safety issue" is because cops break laws all the time. No citizen would be upset if those who enforce laws obeyed them too. You're a moron to think otherwise. Or just a bootlicker who love jack boot societies. Your choice!
@@DubG9 well I've asked tons of police departments and for many months I yet to get a response. One time one of their Facebook messenger "dispatchers" started typing back but stopped and I never received what they typed. No ones talked about it anywhere I've asked. Very interesting people are.
@@FPVOutlaw I have no doubt you've asked but instead of them giving you a bullshit answer, I'd rather someone tell you like it is and say, "we prioritize officer safety over and above everything else". I remember the time of no computers in the car, and yes we had to memorize or note down where each unit was in our patrol zone. We counted on good dispatch a lot.
I was a dispatcher/911 operator for about 9 months. In Arkansas, we can't just get certified online for NCIC; I had to drive an hour away to the nearest state police station and we took a course that lasted about 5 hours followed by a test. I learned two things that I still remember very clearly: 1 - My own name comes back clean as a whistle in a fresh bath. 2 - Yes, we see everything about you. EVERYTHING!! O_O But not your search history, you lucky bastards. But if you have a concealed carry license, we see that. If you have warrant, we see that. We see every traffic violation that you have gotten anything more than a verbal warning for. We see every crime you've ever committed. We see where you live, any aliases you have, and any known contacts. We see the vehicles that are in your name. We see at least one picture of you. Anything info you can think of that you have given to the government in some kind of way, as long as it can potentially pertain to anything that would possibly help if you were to commit a crime or be in danger; it's probably there. So, we don't see that you paid your property tax a month ago. But we do see your height, eye color, weight, pictures, vehicles, addresses, aliases, history, and more.
So, this includes marriages, divorces, bankruptcies, every time you sued someone or took someone to court, legal name changes (legal, not just aliases), adoption records on yourself and your kids, your military record, government subsidies you've ever received, the emergency help from the city you got when your house burned down, etc., all that and more? There are like a ton of things the government has compiled on us since before say 1950 or so. A friend of mine has has had a lot of the above, even legally changing his name and no cop ever gave him flack for his history. How much do cops pay attention to or care about our lengthy governmental documentation going way back when?
You forgot too mention with the Use of CelleBrite, they can infact see your search history, texts, phone calls, GPS location, photos and everything else!
Joseph because you have to carry proof of insurance when you drive. A stupid law and they will get you on it because their job is to make you pay money to them.

Our 4th amendment says we don't have to show documentation upon request, that means license, registration and insurance, get the ticket go to court and then show your documents. They wanna waste our time so might as well stick to our rights and waste a bit of their time by taking them to court.
I studied networks years ago.I just figured NCIC knows if you spit on the sidewalk 38 years ago while you were jogging in Kansas City.Prior to 9/11 you could probably burn down a city block in Cleveland then move to Baton Rouge and live out your life on barbeque.9/11 changed the world. These networks all got integrated and on the same page. The trooper in FL sees the same mess that the trooper in MN sees.Networks are scary things. And unfortunately they are abused. Its inevitable. Its like insider trading info.Far more people get away with it than pay a price.I don't believe the average cop is dumb enough to abuse it ,but he is not the only person with access to it.Its downright scary how much info corporate and government has on all of us.And that's nothing compared to a border crossing.
They're not asking for that because they don't know. They want to see if you have proof on you. It's not enough to merely have insurance and registration. You have to have proof of it on you or in your vehicle.
Because the system is not flawless, having your insurance and registration on you shows valid, easy to read proof that everything is correct and legal -- similarly it relays that information to the officer much easier and quicker than getting it from dispatch or the computer system (if qualified). Computer software is not flawless, and neither are humans so an easy to read piece of paper and or card directly from your insurance stating you're valid removes the unnecessary guesswork and potential errors that can occur with software and human interaction.
Your department(s) should be commended for giving permission for , like all of your videos. Great contribution to the general public, like us concerned citizens.
Very well done. All cadets need to watch you videos for a week. Just to show that cops are human and you're dealing with other humans... mostly. Thank you for dealing with the others in the meantime. How much does it irritate traffic cops when they recognize a car that speeds past them regularly in their personal cars but they never catch them in their patrol car?
Good question, but that's not something veteran cops care much about. When we're off we like to be off. We don't care what you do as long as you're not actively hurting someone. Rookies are the ones that'll chase you down in their Honda Civic while calling in to dispatch lol.
I always assumed that the check would show that I have a CCW. Consequently, the only time that I have been stopped I sat with my hands on the steering wheel until I told the officers that I do have a CCW and that I had a weapon in thecar. They seemed to appreciate this. However, they asked me to step out of the car to separate me from my gun. Questions. Are officers alerted about a CCW?
Michael Perine - same thing happened to me. The cop took a hot firearm out of my holster. Ya know. For HIS safety. No chance I could take his firearm out of his holster for MY safety.
idk if its true in all states but at least in Michigan yes the fact you are a CCW comes up when the cop runs your information. we have a legal duty to inform the officer we are armed as well however. it would be pretty much impossible to enforce without the cops being able to know they weren't told and question it which is why. even when im not armed i usually tell the officer that i am a ccw holder but am not currently armed so they don't feel they are in a sketchy situation. most cops really appreciate this and will probably let you off with a warning as a result. haven't gotten a ticket in that situation yet and theres been several over the years.
Seems like you all have a common issue, all suffer from autism. A 22 minute video detailing a very complex system isn't that long or difficult to sit through. Next time try playing in traffic, will get you all straight into the point.
This was a good video. It's informative to the public, especially given the series of events that has happened, and especially in the United States -- all of the "incidents" with less-than-desirable outcomes that have occurred. Thank you for educating the public.
@@qthinblueline6277 wrong. It's still there. When a employer runs your background check it won't be there. But the police or judicial system can still see it. It just can't be used against you. Despite what sean watts says below, an expungement removes ALL record of the charge...from police, court, and private data keepers are required to delete it as well. It is a court order by the judge to remove all traces. Of course, the government doesn't always follow the rules and cheats, so I am sure some govt agency is still keeping it illegally.

Hey Officer 401. I know you probably won’t see this but I’m commenting on the off chance that you might. I’ve actually been subscribed to the channel since before it blew up and I’m a fan of the channel but I haven’t always had the best relationship with law enforcement in general. I’ve moved away from my hometown and haven’t been arrested in 10 years but whenever I get pulled over in my current city I’m made to get out of the car based on my priors according to the officers. Even if I ask politely to stay in the car they make me get out. Then they say they have to “frisk” the car for weapons to make sure I don’t harm them when I reenter the vehicle. I politely tell them that I don’t consent but they proceed regardless...search the entire car and come up empty because I’m not doing anything. I have a felony burglary conviction from 2010 and a two misdemeanor convictions from 2006 for a concealed weapon and resisting arrest. It’s 2019. I don’t expect anyone here to feel like I deserve a break but I’ve served my time and my probation. And it’s not even recent. What can I do to avoid spending an hour on the side of the road sitting on the curb in my clean clothes at the age of 31 for something I did when I was 21? I’ve been pulled over for “traffic violations” 5 times. I’ve gotten ZERO TICKETS but I’ve been searched without my consent 3 times and each of these encounters takes at least 45 minutes. I’d rather just take the ticket and go about my day like everyone else. It makes me not want to go to the grocery store at night. Any feedback would be awesome Officer.
I would film the incident and immediately hire an attorney. They're not supposed to be searching your vehicle for no reason. Be polite, do as they ask, film it, and hire someone. You can't just go around frisking people if they're not believed to be armed AND dangerous, unless they're on probation/parole and have a 4th amendment waiver that they signed and agreed to as a part of their conditions.
Thx. I haven’t filmed bc these are kinda aggressive and they’ve threatened to take me to jail for nothing. Exact words “city jail will take anything.” I’m not scared to go BUT the impound etc. is a big disruption and I have kids at home. I’ve literally never had a confrontation with these guys. I just politely ask to stay in the car and politely ask that the car not be searched when I’m made to exit but it doesn’t work. If it happens again I’ll definitely turn the camera on and keep it cordial. Thx.
916exposed If they stop you again go to RUclips live or download an app that automatically saves your videos or police encounters so if they try to attempt to delete your evidence it’s already publicized. Hope that helps!
Does it not bother anyone that they are being constantly data farmed for their personal information and its stored in a database that millions of people can instantly see and most is very personal.
Eh crazy as it sounds the guy is kind of right in a way. The new software agencies use, at least in my local areas, is very interactive and individual officers add to the record on a daily basis. What I mean by this is say for instance on a traffic stop the driver and owner of the car are two different people. Well after formalities are complete that officer will now enter that driver's information so that the next time that vehicle tag is run in their system it will not only give them the registered owners information but also list the aforementioned driver. The same goes for if there was a passenger in the vehicle; that person even though not owning or driving the vehicle will now show up when they run the tag because the officer made note of that person's information. Traffic stops are just one example of this, but whatever the case it's not at all as cut and dry as "LEOs reading records", it's a constantly updating and interactive system that, in my opinion, borders on infringement of personal data as mentioned.
@@kennethpowers8995 I don't see how knowing the driver of a car is that big of a deal. Or the passenger, for that matter. I mean if they're gonna pop up when the tags on the car are ran, if they end up wanted for whatever reason it makes it that much easier to find them when they know the car they drive and the people (the actual owner and passenger) they are known to hang out with. Even if that isn't how it's used, I don't see how them knowing "that boy drove his mom's car to go hang out with a friend" is a big breach of privacy. It's not like they're trying to find out what size pants you wear or anything.
License plate frame, covers the bar code. Not illegal here in SC but they don't like it. I'm pretty sure the little stubby antennas on the trunk lid are the plate scanners.
Can I ask the police to run my info? Turns out someone put the wrong tag number reporting an accident. Wrong state, wrong plates, I was sleeping, and not me. I thought it resolved but come to find out later it's still on there. I drive for UPS so I like my almost 10 year pristine driving history. Thanks
probably more than 50% of the officers I knew of that were jammed up and fired were because of inappropriate NCIC checks. Like dude says, don't cave in to the temptation !
thx a lot for the great video....It’s a comfort to folks to have everything carefully explained out.. Everyone here who placed negative comments should understand that law enforcement guys are basicly good people, who are not out to screw you up.. They are here to protect and serve...Be respectful, put yourselves in their place.. Do no wrong, be responsible, cover your ass, obey laws... I really enjoyed this video, and the narrator was easy to understand, very likable... from Kate, in Florida
This type of openness really is good PR. I am from a small state and while the really small depts have problems, the VT State Police have always been professional and courteous and have respect.
very informative, thank you. What about a traffic stop and the driver is a CPL holder? What information pops up at that time and is the officer aware before he approaches the car?
Great video! I had forgotten most of this. Worked on a military base and used this when we wrote our reports and so this brings back some good and also bad memories.
This was really cool! I've always wondered what cops are playing with on those laptops and what could be taking so long when they take your license back to their car sometimes. It really piqued my interest however when the neighbors sent the cops to tell me to turn down my music and they showed up hella deep saying they didn't know what to expect because when they ran my name or address it showed that I was associated with, "Guns, heroin, stolen cars, heroin and stolen cars" and that was just the gist of the top 5 things he could remember from what the database told him. And that shit blew my mind because I have a perfectly clean record! Never been convicted, booked, charged or even cited with anything more than driving without proof of insurance which was cleared when I provided my proof of insurance to the court on the date listed on the citation. Thinking it over, I realized that they must keep a record of every time they run your ID and the incident or call it's related to. Ever since then I've become way more attentive and resistant to the, "Do you have any identification on you?" part of any police interactions. Or anything like, "Okay Graham, do you have a last name there buddy?" A tutorial on how to research definitive identification requirements or 'show id' laws for your state would be cool because the most you'll get out of the videos I've seen on the subject is that every state is different and people really only can talk about the idiosyncrasies of their own specific municipality. Especially if there's no probable cause of your committing a crime and cops are just taking control of a situation for their own safety or inventory of the incident for their after action reports! Because that's exactly how I got all kinds of crazy stuff coming back when they run my name was just me, ignorantly complying and providing my id whenever asked. But knowing now what they do with my ID every time they get it and how readily that information gets retrieved and displayed on those laptops in the field makes me feel like they're knowingly trying to violate the 5th and somehow tag myself no good reason if I let them. When they showed up mid-day, en masse with 4 cops at my front door and 3 cars parked all messy in the parking lot when I opened the door...I mean that changed my whole perspective on privacy issues and data rights. Because at this point I had let them in and consented to them taking a look around no problem. And that's when I asked the cop that stayed standing there with me, if this was a typical response to a loud music complaint or if they just all happened to be within range when the call was dispatched? That's when he said they were all pretty close and mentioned not knowing what to expect which lead to this mysterious "database" they can query from those laptops in their cars and this heightened sensitivity I have to privacy and identifying myself to police. I had an officially clean and clear record but the unofficial record they refer to for their day to day paints a total different picture of me and tells a totally different story than I would have ever imagined! But knowing now the information they gathered so nonchalantly before pulling up... I'm surprised they didn't have all their guns drawn when I opened the door! I don't know how this video got on my feed exactly, but you're right that I've never seen anything like it before, talking about these laptops in any detail and how the actual data is presented through them. Obviously this video kind of triggered me in some way lol! I really liked it though and it got me already looking more into Spillman Flex and they are turning out to be quite the data aggregators! I can't wait to see Part 2 of this series! 👍🏽
True as fuck ! Had a liar neighbor one day called po po on me for driving by his house with some loud punk rock on. And I had to stop before passing his house because he had used hose to squirt all the leaves and magnolia pods into middle of street which I then drove over the pile and yelled at him “ pick up this mess shithead , what the fuck is wrong with putting it into the trash “ a few house after I was home , and exited my vehicle . Proceeded to backyard to resume working on my swimming pool. Walked out to garage a while later and watched as a po po crepes down street stops in front of my house then continues down street . Laughed thinking how stupid and what a waste of time to assume that he was being called out for me. Went back to backyard and continued working . A half hour later my wife who was inside comes out and angrily explains how she had to deal with the same cop who came to door and proceeded to let my wife know that neighbor could file a complaint and I wouldn’t be able to defend myself because he had taken his false accusations and that it’s an official report of what he only listened to one side of what happened between to grown ass men! And she was not even asked to get me or even allow my side of story to be heard. And when she tried explaining what I had told her had happened. He continued to inform her that I would loose if I had to defend myself in court if he filed the report and wanted to in court ? Now I’m ranting about my experience with Police and bullshit I went trough ! Long story short watch what you do and say when out in public because cameras are able to see only part of the truth but they can also be only ignorantly used to verify someone else’s lies about what only shows you but doesn’t record what was said or heard . And beware lazy and liars both know it’s wrong to only get one side of a story before writing a false report! But once your in there system you aren’t ever innocent or even labeled a good person? Your data is stored in a place with criminals and convicts. And everything imaginable they can access and know about you information wise is at finger tips . It’s really beyond being a tool for safety when that’s what they argue the reason for carrying a gun. Fuck big brother this is straight up being raped of privacy and freedom because of our personal information was only collected to be used against us and stolen then sold.
I had my identity stolen once and the guy got arrested two times as me. Red head, blue eyes, I'm black hair and brown eyes. Anyway everything got cleared eventually and I've never been arrested, but when I get pulled over for something stupid like driving at night (I work nights) they run me and say I have "numbers", which means I have been arrested before, but I haven't and the cops think I'm lying to them. It's all silly. Not everyone out at 2am in a big old Lincoln Town Car or 81 Olds 98 is a drug dealer or drunk. I have these older cars because I love working on them and they remind me of my childhood. They're hobby cars. I don't even believe in alcohol.
Officer 401, how do you feel about certain psychology professors teaching that “A good portion of police officers had a childhood issue with power or lack there of, most of which were either bullied or had problems at home that emasculated them, and that explains why they treat people the way they do”. That’s an actual quote from my friends professor.
could be true for some but also sounds like your friend thinks hes better than most people because "im a professor" I deal with them at the hospital a lot haha. "oh im a doctor, I shouldn't have to do that"
I'm wondering say you had a prior traffic stop for let's say no turn signal and didnt get a ticket would something like that still show up? Or even if you got a prior ticket
In the local system yes, but that's not something that would go into a national system. Spillman stores local stuff mainly...but you can use the NCIC portion to see things from other states like full tickets, charges, etc. So in your case, let's say you get stopped twice by a department in GA and one in FL...both have spillman, but both instances of spillman are on different local networks...so neither would be able to see a warning. Only bigger stuff.
@MrZerocool5000 Depending on the state. I’ve seen live pd episodes where the computer alerts and blinks while saying CCW holder. Georgia has no law requiring you to tell the officer you’re armed. There is no duty to disclose and under ga law. I’m not a lawyer, this is not legal advice...
great explanation of CAD, can see how this reduces congestion on radio and makes getting info faster. Going to next level, I could see connecting dashcam plus gps, so that in pursuits other officers coming to assist can see what you see and know where you are without having to drive one handed and talking on radio at same time.
Thank you mark, and Spillman does actually have those features but some departments don't have them enabled...the officers can assign themselves to calls and clear up, and some officers with GPS enabled can be seen on the map, however it's frowned upon for us to change our own status. They want dispatch to handle that and most officers don't know how anyway, or have been restricted in doing so on their access level to the software.
I've seen mine from the back seat. Has a pic and all my info. also a Large RED banner across the top that says " Warning, Approach with caution, subject may be armed"....No wonder they always call for backup.....True! ...............................(not Jim)

Ryan Newell it’s hard not to dislike tyrants.
My son said, "Is there a problem?"
The officer told him he had a felony arrest warrant but refused to tell him what it was for.

Technically officers are civilians, it is civil police
I wrote CAD software and worked on what was called the "mobile" version which was just the software that runs on the laptops in the cars. The other version the dispatchers used - it was the full featured windows desktop application. The mobile version was a desktop application too - but it was full screen and locked and a single window, the dispatchers could open several windows at once. Two of the features I remember fondly were BOLO and record check. They were very challenging to test - both have very strict security requirements.
Use Spillman mobile every day. Easy to use! Good work.

I appreciate you bringing some transparency between law enforcement and civilians
Everything in the eyes of the thin blue line is an "officer safety issue"
But what I never have ever heard in the decades of me living is, "citizens safety", "civilian safety" or any issues about it.
Never it being a citizen safety issue that cops drive playing solitaire on their laptops or hit a cyclist while they're texting and driving.
Never it being a citizen safety issue when the wrong house has been raided and the occupants killed because they were defending their home from persons breaking in with use of violence.
Never a citizen safety issue when a cop high tails it out of his patrol car unloading a magazine into a 15yr old boy, before ever saying, "stop!"
Never a citizen safety issue when officers know they're breaking laws, violating people or worse... Murdering them.
Where is the safety for citizens?
Could someone please help me understand where this "safe place" is?
I see yellow and black signs at places where police reside. They have figures of what look to be people hugging and the words "safe place" below.
But I yet to find an officer who genuinely cares for citizen safety
The officer who is looking to help citizens be on there way and down the right path. Not in handcuffs for something petty or that they didn't do. Or worse, dead on the ground for "not complying and officer safety"
THE only reason there was ever an "officer safety issue" is because cops break laws all the time.
No citizen would be upset if those who enforce laws obeyed them too.
You're a moron to think otherwise. Or just a bootlicker who love jack boot societies. Your choice!
I'd love to see a response to this critical question. Great question though!
@@DubG9 well I've asked tons of police departments and for many months I yet to get a response. One time one of their Facebook messenger "dispatchers" started typing back but stopped and I never received what they typed.

I remember the time of no computers in the car, and yes we had to memorize or note down where each unit was in our patrol zone. We counted on good dispatch a lot.
As a dispatcher if you ever decide you want somebody to explain this from my perspective I can gladly do it
I was a dispatcher/911 operator for about 9 months. In Arkansas, we can't just get certified online for NCIC; I had to drive an hour away to the nearest state police station and we took a course that lasted about 5 hours followed by a test. I learned two things that I still remember very clearly:
1 - My own name comes back clean as a whistle in a fresh bath.
@@jdavis37378 This would be news to me. Where did you find that info? If it was NCIC, I hope you put a convincing reason for looking it up. lol

I have insurance. God, I pay for it once a month. I got to renew my license next month. God help me at DMV.
Why do cops ask for proof of registration and insurance if they can see it on their own?

This was a good video. It's informative to the public, especially given the series of events that has happened, and especially in the United States -- all of the "incidents" with less-than-desirable outcomes that have occurred.
Thank you for educating the public.
If someone had a charge expunged, does a record of it still show up in NCIC?
I am curious to know this as well! Hopefully your comment will be seen and Officer 401 will answer it here in your comment thread. 👍
No it doesn't. That's the reason behind the expungement- It no longer exists.
@@qthinblueline6277 wrong. It's still there. When a employer runs your background check it won't be there. But the police or judicial system can still see it. It just can't be used against you. I have an expunged record as well. I tried to become a police officer and they still saw what I was charged for and that it was expunged and denied me. They told me police and the courts and federal systems will still see it.

In regards to what?
@@michaelpinnell5330 as in what it's like to work as a dispatcher. Or the requirements for that job, interview process etc. I could see "Interview with a Dispatcher" in 401's future.
Izzy S. Dispatchers actually have to work hard. Cops spend most of the day sitting in their cars texting people
@@spacecowboy1438 See if your county offers a Citizens Law Academy. Dispatch has a hella hard job!
Thx.
916 if you do happen to record another search you should upload it.
916exposed buy a dashcam. It will save your ass one day. You dont even need the video footage as long as it has a microphone
@@kennethpowers8995
I don't see how knowing the driver of a car is that big of a deal.
It's not like they're trying to find out what size pants you wear or anything.
so those automatic scanners that scan license plates a common city thing

They work very well. They aren't only installed on officers cars but also roads and bridges.
License plate frame, covers the bar code. Not illegal here in SC but they don't like it. I'm pretty sure the little stubby antennas on the trunk lid are the plate scanners.

Or anything like, "Okay Graham, do you have a last name there buddy?"
A tutorial on how to research definitive identification requirements or 'show id' laws for your state would be cool because the most you'll get out of the videos I've seen on the subject is that every state is different and people really only can talk about the idiosyncrasies of their own specific municipality.
Graham Hart - wow!

That’s an actual quote from my friends professor.

I'm wondering say you had a prior traffic stop for let's say no turn signal and didnt get a ticket would something like that still show up? Or even if you got a prior ticket
Audatious Xtreme usually it’s documented that they stopped you and made contact.

Depending on the state.
