LOL...Hi all..this is Milton the villainess owner and user of the nefarious car brush that was used in this video. Joe and I got a few unexpected laughs about the beat up some of you doled out re using the my car wash brush. It is positively interesting to hear from other automobile enthusiasts aka car guys aka cars nuts...especially hearing about what they see, or what details we see and pay close attention to. Many persons on the planet would not hit the brakes on this subject at all, but not us, we see much more than 2 guys just washing their cars and talking...we see everything going on around the cars and everything about the cars. But let me address you care care aficionados: 1) The brush is not some Auto Zone Parts Store brush, it was a very soft Boars Hair Brush for car washing, purchased from Griots Garage catalog (Part# 10274 / $130). I have used this type of brush for years without any issue. I do have mitts / sponges / and a host of other car wash products, but on that day we were getting right back out on the road..so no happy ending wash that day... 2) Sharing the bucket? Unlike a drug addicts needle (LOL) - I do get/understand the concern but Joe and I keep very clean cars...we were washing off light amounts of road dirt and nothing substantive. I wouldn’t feel safe sharing bucket with an unknown entity. 3) Paint Protection?: Yes both of our cars are XPEL protected. 4) What kind of music do I listen to when in Battlestar Gallactica driving mode?: Nothing very specific..sometimes “Jimmy Smith Jazz” if I am wanting to hear more engine than music and the road is very curvy; and other time “Ludacris - “Move Bitch Get out the way, if youre doing the speed limit Get out of my way” on less curvy roads when I am Mastering the Left Lane at speed (always within 4mph of the speed limit 😎) 5) I agree with whoever said you can have much fun with paddle shifters vs a manual...whether its “as much fun?” - opens the debate. 6) Milton doesn't seem like he drives very fast?: Just because there is snow on the roof doesn’t mean there isn’t fire in the furnace... I do ok in the tradecraft of driving...I will let my friend Joe be the judge of that. Stay safe out there in crazy 2020! Milton
Found your channel a lil while ago and just started watching your videos but it further confirms what I've been saying for some time now, "I need to upgrade my friend pool!" Love it gents keep it up and maybe one day we'll get to meet in person
I loved the four video series. It's great to see a couple of good friends, in my age group, talking about their 911s. I'm sold on the GTS but I'm still torn between the manual and the PDK!
Thanks for watching and I am glad you enjoyed it. Manuals offer constant engagement, I must admit. But the PDK is so good! You can't go wrong with either one.
This was my first time using a brush. It was incredibly soft and when you look at Milton’s cars up close, not a swirl or mark on them. The detailer who maintains my cars is on a schedule of every two weeks so hopefully this one time use of the brush will not have an impact.
Integrafreak1 yes, over parts of the car. I don’t think it covers the entire car. Major areas like the nose, hood, front fenders, wing mirrors, and around the back end if I remember correctly.
I enjoyed the discussion. I have done the Porsche Experience in a Boxster. It is worthwhile to do it at least once. It is not a large track. I got the Boxster up to about 84 on the back straight before I had to brake. The 911's I am sure could do bettet.
From what I have seen, the course is very technical, which seems like a good way to learn how the car behaves in various situations. I am very interested in trying it out.
Hi Joe In 2020, PDK at 100%. For me, also I respect the driver who choose the manual gear for their own choice, for me, there are 2 reasons to get a manual: 1/ You get a Youngtimer (which HAS TO BE a manual by the way) or 2/ Your 911 is a weekend car. Otherwise the manual for the daily 911 car is a nightmare in the traffic and if you want to enjoy "manually" the PDK, it's possible there is the paddle shift...
The PDK can give you (almost) the best of both worlds. You can allow the car to make the decisions to shift or you can take over and use the paddles to shift. I say "almost" because there is the coordination of shifting the gears and synchronizing with the clutch that is more involved than pulling the paddles. But I am enjoying my PDK after 5 years. It is so, so good. Around town it's smooth and on track it is very smart about when to shift and those shifts are super fast. It's great.
You missed a spot. 🙄🤔 That Agate Grey looks really good in the sun. Why'd you let him bring in that big German Uboat? This is about cars that can dance. 🤣
You can tell Milton…he really got it “going on”-the BLACK GTS Manual (I’m waiting for the 992 version if it ever makes it’s here in Fl-until then I’ll just have to SUFFER with my 991.1 s)…but the real Answer I wanna know is... “What music is Milton listening to when he ripping thru those back roads???” But I like your Build too Joe and that Agate Grey w/Glass sunroof. Regarding my opinion on PDK vs. Manual, being that I’m 61and drove a friends Porsche 911 at 16 (1975), I never would of believed that their could EVER be an “Automatic Porsche”. With that said, and after driving a 911.2 GTS PDK once (& finding myself unengaged/bored after 15 min even though its MUCH faster) … “I get it”…why many choose the PDK---especially if you drive mainly in traffic-or spend a lot of time on the Track…but for me Joe…it’s all about “THE F-E-E-L”...& that’s something I can ONLY experience in a Manual 911 Porsche:) Keep-up the Great Video's!!!
That makes total sense to me, your preference for the manual. The feel, the interaction, the engagement is pretty special in a manual car. I am not sure if it came through in this series of videos but I am pretty conflicted. I really like the PDK when I am in it, but then driving Milton’s manual reminds me of the fun of a manual. And Milton’s spec is pretty cool looking. I’ll have to ask him what he is listening to as he is tearing up those back roads!!!
@@Joe_Hutchinson Your "confliction"...certainly didn't show Joe...but i know...that u know...EXACTLY... what I'm a talking about!!! P-l-e-a-s-e...Ask Milton what he got in that Cd player!!!!!!!!!
Milton is a bit too cautious and babies his car too much lol. I totally agree that attending the Porsche driving school would be a great investment of time and money if you track or autocross your car.
Ha! I think you may be right. Although I have followed Milton on some fast drives and he doesn't waste any time! Ha! Yes, that driving school looks worthwhile.
Joe, I'm weeks away from purchasing my first 911. Did you ever consider a convertible? I live in California so weather wouldn't prevent me from enjoying the outdoors. Love to hear your thoughts.
When I lived in Pasadena California back in the early 2000s, a Boxster S was my daily driver and I enjoyed having that convertible there. I loved going up in to the canyons with the top down listening to the flat 6 and enjoying the outdoors and the views. Then I moved here to the northeast it didn't seem sensible. The one little thing I would mention is, do you like the shape and lines of a convertible 911? 991 and 992 convertibles have really gone a long way to replicate the classic shape of the 911 when the top is up. Earlier generations, not so much. I like the roofline of a hard top 911 so I lean more toward hard tops in that model. But in sunny, warm weather areas, driving a 911 with the top down would be so great.
That was the first time using one of those brushes. It was super soft. One time thing for me. But the detailer who maintains my car every two weeks keeps the paint looking sharp.
That was my first time using one. But Milton’s brush was incredibly soft. I’ll have to ask him what it was made of. But not a swirl on any of his cars. None on mine either after that use. He must maintain it very well. But I also heard brushes are not good.
Ha! Ok, sorry about that. As I mentioned in another reply, I have a detailer who maintains my car on a schedule of every two weeks. His team keeps the car and its paint in top condition. And corrects my errors!!!
@@Joe_Hutchinson Hey Man! Love your videos and killer car. I sold my 15 991.1 s about 6-months ago it was a 7-speed manual. I miss it they are such great cars. Keep up great content cheers.

Great down to earth videos! You and your friends seem to really be enjoying life! as well as your cars! Keep em coming!
Thanks for your support!
Great 911s and nice 4 garage house!
Enjoyed the discussion Joe. I have the manual 911 because its a weekend car.

I really enjoyed the video. Nice real perspective.
I appreciate that!

Hey Joe.......would love meet up in LG the next time your up here and go for a drive. My car looks just like yours but is a 2019!
👍🏽
NOOOOOO Why are you using a brush!! That should only be for commercial vehicles. 2 bucket!!
Exactly, I see a lot of people do this, I tell them they’re messing up their paint...few listen!

This was so satisfying to watch and listen to. Just two petrol heads just chating and doing their thing. :)

Not in Long Island. But I have gone out to Long Island for Porsche Club autocross events.
Yes, he did drive your GTS like a rental. You must be good friends.
Ha! and yes. good friends.
Do you think a faster, but completely self-driving 911 would be even better? If you think it is, then PDK. If not, then the manual.
Ha ha! Interesting perspective. I get it.
How exactly is PDK self driving? It only shifts for you in auto mode.
Love this video but I was cringing when I saw that brush’s touch the car
Detailers nightmare. Paint correction is inevitable part of your future. But oh well, still enjoyed the videos
