- We got a new SportDOG In-Ground Fence System. So far it's been amazing and has worked flawlessly with our dog. There were some small kinks to work out with install and configuration but our dog has been confidently confined. Now we just have to get all of the wire buried before the rapture.

I love my In ground fence, I dont mind shocking my dog because it only takes once or twice and he understands, I love the house and farm, just wondering how old is that house? Thanks for the video

Thanks. Yeah we like the stim, where we sent our dog for training as a pup used it and made us feel it and it was neat. I gets ur attention, that's for sure, but doesn't hurt. It's nice when you pair the remote with it too because you can jack it up when he's after a groundhog or just stubbornly barking at dear across the road and not listening and not feel bad about hurting him. But yeah that collar is a beast.
Got one handed down to us. Why do you twist the wire? Didn’t get instructions with it.
twisting the wire negates the signal. Where the wire is twisted NO shock will be given.
Why would you get a chirp noise for manually disabling the device?
You don't. I only kinda would like one because I know one day when my kids gain access to the basement, someone will hit that switch and I won't know haha.
So the dog can't run across the single wire that comes from the home right? He has to run around the other side of the mouse right?
The wire comes in and out from the house, so there are the two ends and they get twisted which interferes the signal. So wherever you twist the wire it wont signal the collar. So he has full 360 access around the house and can run right over the wire coming from the house to the perimeter. And anywhere inside leading to the base you want to make sure its twisted too.
Can you purchase a 20guage wire
Yes. We needed more wire for where we wanted to fence off and bought 20 guage and worked great.
How has he done 6months later ?
Absolutely great. We actually haven't had it on for a few days because the line got cut where it comes off the coop and I haven't spliced it yet. Not an issue with system, totally our fault. But he respects the line still. I actually tried to get him to cross it on leash the other night to help track our boar that escaped (since he is a coonhound and I've worked with him with deer before, it was worth a shot). He wouldn't cross the line with me to even try. I've been 110% happy with this thing. System still works 100%.
We were actually really bad with getting the line burried and it got cut a couple times with the lawn mower cuz things have been crazy around here. And I LOVE the alarm on the system. You know right away when the fence shorts.
@@eternalharvestfarm thank you .I wanted to have something proven so my dog wouldn’t escape to the neighbors when I go to work or something.we only have 5 acres and he is very curious
@@eternalharvestfarm Our dog is a hound mix and I was concerned that may his prey drive would cause him to go through it. We are in the country with rabbits, squirrels, etc so I'm concerned he won't stop. Interesting that you have a hound and haven't had an issue.
