What do you do or how do you get your dog to the containment area, if your dog wants to go inside and won't budge toward the containment area? I'm trying to start day 1 of training, right now it is difficult to get him to walk outside. Would different times of the day be a good idea?

Thank you for your question! If your dog doesn't currently have any interest being in the yard, then it would be beneficial to try different times of the day when he is more excited to be outside. It can also help to engage with a little bit of play in the yard or work on some basic commands to help engage his brain prior to beginning your training.

Thank you so much for reaching out with this question. This does not require an electrician and is perfectly safe to DIY. None of the wires are live as it is a radio signal that goes through the line rather than electricity.

This goes against all I know about training. For example, jerking on a neck collar can harm the trachea. Not a good idea. I spend time teaching my dog not to go after any treats on the ground without permission. If I didn't give him the release word, he wouldn't go outside the flags to get it. If I did give the release word, it would be a betrayal.
It looks like I'll still with a physical barrier after all.
