  • An armed citizen is being praised for stopping a gunman at a popular Oklahoma City restaurant. Two people, including a 12-year-old girl, were shot Thursday night. Police say the suspect was killed in the parking lot. David Begnaud reports.

      Hadi Purwanto I don't trust anyone that I don't personally know. Anytime you tune in to "news" you're taking a leap of faith and assuming that someone you've never met is telling you the facts of a situation you were not at all involved in. That being said, I have much more faith in Infowars or anyone in the alternative media than I do in any MSM establishment because time after time it's been unequivocally proven that MSM lies to promote a certain agenda, whatever it is.

      It's still the law and who says this guy might not wanted to do the same thing but instead got to shoot this guy and that was enough for him. You gotta try to think every possibility and not just the one that happened. Maybe that guy was not supposed to have a weapon for any reason. Just because it worked out doesn't mean he had 100% good intentions that day.

There is always the what-if scenarios and even if you did the right thing it doesn't mean you're going to walk away with no problems.       I agree, and i'm glad that he stopped it. But keep in mind when you mention the second amendment, it doesn't qualify as a Modern Handgun, it was written in the time of muskets. Using that as an excuse for everything doesn't constitute anything but ignorance. Permits for highly accurate and deadly weapons today, must be a thing or we will lose sight of what we are as a country.

      They also didn't predict the privatization of the first amendment but that hasn't stopped one side (famed for cancel culture) from taking away people's freedom of speech if they don't agree with them

The industrial revolution was in full bloom and they knew great inventions were on the horizon. They intended for individual firearms to be on par with any held by any oppressor both foreign or domestic. They wrote our constitution not for today but for generations of tomorrows to come.

    It gives me hope to see news networks covering stories like this one. Some people may see flaws on how they reported on the incident (I have no problem with that and actually agree with some of them), but I’m just happy that stories like this are getting coverage, rather than only seeing news reports of people committing mass shootings targeting defenseless people who blame the gun more than the shooter. The public needs to know more about incidents like this if we ever want to tip the scales in favor of gun rights in the US.

      @@thejanitor3263 You can't own an automatic weapon in any state, only semiautomatic weapon, unless you pay for a special license, which is very very expensive. Last November Oklahoma now doesn't require law abiding citizens to have a CCW license and we can open carry as well as conceal carry. Now I do still have my CCW license, because most state recognize my license so I can legally carry conceal in those states, which is most state, I know the states I cant and dont recognize my license are California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, & Washington D.C. that's it. I'm sorry your state caders to non law abiding citizens and infringe on yalls constitutional rights, be safe out there.

      Yes, but citizens also need to be well-trained in the use of their weapon so that other needless tragedies need not occur, and keep it legal! I'm glad this one worked out well. Unfortunately, there are far too many trigger--happy cops that seem to be just itching to shoot the "bad guy." They are definitely shooting far too many innocent citizens, while using very poor judgement. This has to STOP!

    Important safety tip here! Any time you walk into place always look for the nearest exit in a restaurant actually the kitchen is the best place to get out! Remember everybody's going to be flooding the other doors.

      Its more a question of saturation. A society that is saturated with guns, decommissioning cannot work. However, it has worked in other nations who weren't previously saturated by weapons. The question of legality or illegality is not relevant.

      @@user-yq6ov6ow7l a convicted felon has lost his right to carry a firearm. But, a convicted felon can still carry a black powder revolver, which is not considered a firearm. But don't believe me. I'm just some random guy on the Internet. Look up Oklahoma's self defense laws. A citizen may use any means available to defend their self and their property here.
      There is a fine line between self defense while you are being attacked and repelling an attack and being prosecuted for excessive force.

      Exactly, these were not just average citizens carrying guns. One was a master sergeant in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, the other was a trained security guard following his training.

      I remember a story where there was a drive by commited and a guy standing across the street pulls out his gun and grazed the side of the car because of that bullet and another witness reporting the car was shot the police were able to track down the 2 shooters and deal with then quickly but the unnamed unknown 3rd shooter across the street ran off as soon as he fired his shot, it was gang related and the 3rd shooter was part of the shooting victims gang i believe but because someone was illegally cc’ing their gun the actual criminals didn’t get away with it and at-least one of them was shot dead by police.
