Got the regular model 2 switch in 2019 (one with the better battery) and I am still happy with it and see little to no point in upgrading just because the screen is bigger. Save your money and wait till a pro hopefully comes and just stick with what you have and remember if it is not broken do not fix it plain and simple.

yeahhhh I should've taken this advice ages ago, im a silly girl and decided to buy the switch oled even tho i had the standard and the oled ended up having a horrible screen defect (grainy green tint on greys) and the wireless chip was busted, apparently like 50% of all switch oled models have these issues, i took it straight back and got a refund lol im good with my V2 🥹

Being it my late 30's now, I decided to buy the lite because I mostly play the NES, SNES, and other side scrollers. Really gives me that gamegear style nostalgia. I believe the $100 difference between Lite and OG is justified. Just to have the option of either docking and being able to detach the joycons is great. I've tried playing Mario Kart 8 with friends and family undocked. It's not a displeasing experience but having it on the TV is much better. My wife and I love Mario Party so the two joycons are a must. Sometimes when I'm sitting at a table I detach the joycons and have the Switch sitting on the table top, getting comfortable on my chair while I use a joycon in each hand. Even lying down, if you get lost in a game it's nice to be able to put the switch down, get yourself comfortable and still be able to play without tiring your hands. OLED is much prettier but what makes me want to save my money is that the processor is exactly the same as the OG. No performance upgrade what so ever. Ethernet port is capped so wifi can probably perform better. I would kill for that sweet new stand tho lol. Now, in terms of storage it is definitely a must to get a micro SD card. 1T tho? I would say only if you Have to buy every release and/or you Only buy digital. Some games are massive but most aren't. I personally got a 400GB Sandisk Ultra. I buy mostly physical, got a few games off the eShop and I still have 322GB left on the card. I don't buy many games since it is a pretty expensive hobby. So I only get ones that Really attract my attention. I got the 400GB as precaution, just in case for some reason I can't get something physical then I at least have a good amount of space to download it. If you're like me then I can even see a 256GB sd card working out for you. Like I said, I got the 400 as a precaution. And those are my 2 Cents on that lol, hope it helps someone out there.

I did the opposite, I bought the OLED first which I still love using but I'm afraid of dropping it if I keep bringing it out doors and only save it for family trips. Not to long ago, I bought the Draiga Pokemon edition Switch lite used for $200 since it's the only lite that looks good and I'm not afraid of touching the screen and use it for Mario Maker 2 the most. I only hate the battery life and I really don't mind the 5.5 inches. I had phones in the past that was 4.7 inches in 2013. My point is get the version your going to use the most.. so far only the battery life is what is making me want to go back to my OLED and just play it tabletop while the lite I have it by my bed and play small portions of SNES Online. SNES games won't kill the lite battery, only hard demanding games and the RUclips app.

I have the OLED and Lite, I can agree that the OLED is just unmatch.
However, I have use my Lite so much that my OLED still can't replace it due to the solid body and because as a tour guide is my profession. I travel so heavy that I would say that the Lite is just perfect for me and my main games are solo games that the Lite actually far greater than the OLED due to the Tpad that it offer that the OLED as a handheld is still not my preferences.
The key to answering this video is how heavy do you play on your hand on the go?
If your some one that plays super heavy on the go on a moving vehicle, the Lite is unmatch and unrivalled at this point. The game may look better in OLED, I rather you just save that cash for the newer model that is maybe 2024 release that will rival it eventually.
Because the solid body without accessory support is by far the best is the Lite and with accessory and complete whole feels on your hand is the Lite still unmatch due to it's weight and gaming buttons.
This is just my opinion, since I'm very heavy on handheld and it fit perfectly that purpose. 😍😍😍

I bought the Splatoon OLED on drop day & passed my OG 2017 Switch on to my wife. She mainly plays Animal Crossing & Pokémon while I've dabbled in a lot more games. More storage, cool design, better battery life, etc. I'm not really a screen or graphics snob, so the better screen was nice but unneeded.
However, I've noticed since we've been playing Scarlet/Violet that the old Switch will freeze sometimes & she'll have to turn the entire console completely off (which is a pain b/c the button is a bit messed up & there's no menu option for it - just sleep mode). However, I've had bo problems with freezing so far. Just the funny graphical bugs everyone else is getting, like the camera clipping through the ground.
100000%, get the OLED if you have the choice. It'll hold up much better in the long run, since it's marginally more powerful.

I had a rough time getting the switch. I had three prior to the one I have now that I had to sell on within weeks due to circumstances at the time. It seemed like a curse and I had all but given up on the idea,
I'll say I'm not a massive nintendo fan, but I can't deny those are the most prominent handhelds in my collection. It just so happened last year that I had enough of a stable income for nothing to throw me off. I ended up getting a practically new OLED and I really didn't see the difference at first. I thought I was remembering my previous switches wrong.
I wasn't wrong, it was a completely different experience with the OLED, it makes a lot of difference to the quality of your gameplay and with the bigger screen, makes certain things far easier to see when used as a handheld - this was my biggest gripe with the original switch when the UI of some games was tiny AF.... and I have normal vision.

Actually there is a way to connect the Lite to the TV, but you have some lag. It requires a camera and some cables. Someone did a RUclips video about this setup.

I have to say, the only thing I must say about the Switch Lite is it’s a fantastic secondary switch! I wouldn’t say it’s good as a primary switch, but it’s a great secondary. I loveeee playing SNES games on my Lite, as I love having a D-pad. It’s so comfortable and it’s a great switch! I know that having an OLED and a Lite isn’t practical, but I love having both. Also the Teal color with my White OLED switch is a fire color combo

My friends all have switch oleds and think I should upgrade but I have a ps5 for home and my switch lite still works so why should I buy a £350 one just to use as handheld only? I like having a console to play games in bed before I go to sleep
And then the best graphics 4K+ when gaming on the tv
It’s almost jarring seeing normal HD on my tv when friends bring their switches and play it on my tv

My husband and both kids have their own Lites. I have the Animal Crossing edition that I got for 250. I play 90% handheld and some tabletop games with my husband and kids on occasion. I do not see a need to pay $100 more only 2 years after buying this console which is in like new condition and has no flaws. The storage space is a non-issue for me. I have a $20 SD card in it and have more than enough room. Since we have 4 consoles in our home we tend to buy PHYSICAL copies so we can share the games between all 4 consoles. This means less storage space isn't a problem at all. Sure the OLED kickstand is nice and the screen, too. But for $100 more than what this one cost for that and that alone? No. I'll spend that $350 elsewhere... like maybe on a Phoenix (or maybe Moltres) tattoo next year.
