It's incredibly sad and tragic what happened and it could of been and should of been prevented. In life, there is always an element of chance, and he and the other 16 innocent souls lost their chance at life with in 6 minutes for nothing - and their lives mattered!!! It is so very heartbreaking. So uncalled for and unfair. When a person you love passes on, when they are violated and killed for no reason - it kills everyone they know and love too- life goes on for them in the afterlife and for us here, but it will never be the same. But I believe they remain tethered to those they love so Victoria and Joquin will always be bonded.
My heart aches for her, It is a pain like no other and you wouldn't wish that even on your worst enemy
A love like that is a very very rare thing, it may have faded, but then it could have lasted for decades and decades, but it is such an unspeakable crime to have that love cut short for no reason at all...Nobody was drinking or on drugs operating a car, doing anything foolish... like one father said they were exactly where they were supposed to be...
There’s nothing like your first love. Whether they would have broken up further along the road or not.. they were in love & for someone to go through that at such a young age, my heart breaks for her.

I watched both of them and I balled my eyes out! I sent them to my mom as well and told her how amazing she worded just the exact feeling of losing someone that you can feel it through her testimony. Truly beautiful ❤

It was a tough trial for sure. She has a way with words. That's a gift from God. It's rare for most people to be given that gift. I know expressing ourselves is important in each healing process. I hope and pray she can move forward and take what she learned from life and change it into strength to improve her life and the world. May GOD comfort and bless everyone involved in that tragedy.

On March 14th, we had a walk out at our school. Not even a day later, we had a lockdown due to a kid bringing in a gun to ‘recreate parkland’ which was fortunately taken care of. I’m praying there’s change, and I hope something is done in the future

Losing someone is always sad but losing someone that you hold dear to your heart to murder is a whole different pain, my heart aches for all of thoose young kids and families who have to deal with such a horrible tragedy
I admire the students of Parkland for the strength they show in sharing their stories in the hope of inspiring us all, as the adults we need to take care of the childrens safety in schools around the world. Students when they go to school should only need to enjoy the journey of being educated and nurturing relationships with their peers without fear of being exposed to any harm. Therefore as adults its our responsibilty to protect them and not expose any other children to this trauma again.

I lost my highschool crush too, suddenly to suicide. He was only 20 years old. I was 21. Since him, I haven't ever liked another boy. Because there was never anyone like him. I miss you Javan and the brightness and sunshine you brought to my life. All of these young lives lost. Gone too soon.

I'm sorry you went through all that, i wouldn't wish that type of pain on anybody either, it's happened to me before too were i had to watch a friend of mine get their life taken away, and i was never the same after that, i know why these kids are upset, they have a right to be because yeah people have a right to defend themselves, but so do these kids, they shouldn't have to feel unsafe when they go to school. That's probably why i do most of my college courses online, as opposed to a campus. If security wouldn't have gotten so anxious and scared, he probably could have gone in there and stopped this kid before he hurt anybody, but i guess hall monitors don't really realize that there's more to hall monitoring then walking around, you have to be prepared to help save people, you can't go into the job being scared. And waiting around, that's how people get shot. To assume the shooter was outside was pretty stupid, everybody knows shooting's usually start inside. That's why they should have checked the entire campus, not just the soccer field.

I never knew any of the victims but I made it a point to learn each one during the trial. Joaquin has always stood out to me as such a beautiful soul and this entirely preventable tragedy makes me so angry. I am sick of “gun rights” being more important than childrens lives. Watching the Senator slime his way out of the facts is sickening. Kids were hunted. They were brutally shot by a weapon that should not be available. This should never happen let alone what seems to be constant shootings. The Parkland victims are now in my mind forever and they will always be more important than anyones “right” to a weapon of mass destruction. You are not forgotten Joaquin. ❤
