I was taught from Kindergarten “School is a safe place to be, you’re protected here.” Little did I know that in 5th and 7th grade I had to fear for my life multiple times, once where I saw a kid injured to the point he was throwing up blood and multiple kids on the floor. Can you imagine, running full speed out of a building, scrambling to text your mom “I might die. I love you.” And the school system I go to is JUST NOW working to stop it? It’s horrifying that I saw my friend struggling to live, and we just went on with our year.

This is so true! Someone had pulled the fire alarm today and teachers wouldn't let us evacuate. One kid (who has epilepsy) got so scared he had a seizure. At least that's what my friend told me. She was in gym at the time.

MARK A Because it was disabled as soon as police and crew had arrived to the school. It’s common sense... The school fire alarm wouldn’t sound for 20 minutes after being pulled.
So sad , I still remember this incident n the news. I hope all the kids who went through this horrible event are doing better. I’m in tears still still this day. No kids should go to school and feel unsafe

TeCh TwIns I agree because some 8 yr old kids can't even feel safe in school let alone their parents too. It is honestly the sickest thing in the world that someone would shoot up a school. Back before the 1960s everyone had self control these days it is sometimes the music, the videos, and a lot of other stuff that influences this. I do watch stuff like that sometimes but a harmless 11yr old could really do nothing.

This is why schools need to allow students to have their phones (They don’t need to use them in class but they should be allowed to have them) in my school phones need to be in lockers at all times and if they catch u with ur phone out they take it and ur parents have to pick it up AND u get lunch detention... If there was something like this to happen the same way that girl texted her mom that she loved her....Students are robbed of being able to do that or Inform parents about things like this happening

In my school we can have our phones to ourselves only if it like rings or your caught using it it will be taken away.
if you try to contact your parent during one of those tragic moments, you will make it so that the school and first responders cannot contact eachother about this.
