- This should be First Class! Come onboard we me and explore why this Business Class is kind of a secret.
Gulf Air’s Falcon Gold Business Class onboard their 787-9 is the airlines newest business class offering. And my word its amazing! Their business class features the apex suites which were originally designed for first class. Interestingly Gulf is one of the worlds oldest carriers yet is unfairly over shone by the likes of Emirates, Etihad and Qatar. Today we’ll be flying from London Heathrow over to Bahrain’s brand new billion dollar airport which opened only a matter of weeks ago.

AMAZING Gulf Air Business Class: 787-9 Apex Suites review
Review: GULF AIR 787 Business Class - TRAVEL LIKE A KING!
TRIPREPORT | Gulf Air (FALCON GOLD) | Boeing 787-9 | Bahrain - London Heathrow
Gulf Air NEW B787 and A320neo Complete Review
Don't worry about attire. It happened to me when I tried to check in at the business class counter and the steward came running asking if I was at the wrong counter. 🤣 And all this because I was dressed very relaxed ready for a 12 hour flight. People who fly a lot don't dress up, they have learnt their lessons over the years. More important are good manners, but this goes for all classes.
Wearing a suit for travel was the social norm in the 1960's, but as long as you practice personal hygiene, sweatpants and comfort clothes are perfectly acceptable for modern travel. People who complain are just looking for something to complain about
You’re absolutely right regarding what is acceptable. However, numerous studies confirm that clothing can impact an individual’s behavior and performance. Clothing also impacts how you’re treated. While I love being comfortable and believe people should be treated with respect, regardless of their attire, there is a difference. I actually learned this lesson when traveling. People were more respectful and attentive when I wore “business attire”.
@@GMAMEC We’ll said! Although comfort clothes should be acceptable, I find most of those we accompany in the lounges are dressed well. I much prefer to blend in than make a statement.
Love this APEX suite layout. Oman Air, JAL and Korean have the same seats on most of their business class configs. They are by far the best 2-2-2 business class products.
@Rafa 123 I think they've scrapped that on the newer aircraft. In their newest configuration its a pretty standard 1-2-1. Its pretty nice. Not to the same level as ANA or Qatar Qsuite but its a solid business class seat.
You deserve many more subs, you put so much effort into your vids
Really appreciate it :) thanks so much for your support
Ur more than welcome
So true!
60 is alot, don't under play him
Great video mate, I’m so glad that Gulf Air are getting a lot of airtime recently and there rebranding is fantastic. That livery on the beautiful 787-9 is just magic 🤩. 😍👏👏👏👏
It’s certainly an awesome product right! Thanks so much for watching. Love their F1 livery and their golden one - hope they get some more planes and expland to more destinations. They seem to be on the right track
@@Trektrendy definitely one of my favourite new products and a big 👏👏 to Gulf Air. Yes your right the F1 livery is pretty special, yes 🤞 🤞! I would love to see what there economy class is like. Great job looking forward to the next one. 💯
Having travelled first and business class a number of times now I tend to wear smart casual. Obviously we need to be comfortable but if we utilise the airport lounges they usually have a dress code. As I get older I’m finding I like to dress better anyway than I did in the past. BTW, love the look of those Business suites. ✈️
If I am travelling long haul I dress even more casual than you. No make up and wearing my glasses. Its all about me having a comfortable. No high heels even for short haul flights. I say dress to what you are comfortable
100% I agree. Especially if the airline doesn't provide PJ's I prefer to be in comfortable casual clothes for long-haul flights.
Very nice video indeed! I had flown Gulf Air way back in the 80s and my experience was not that good, not that bad either. But GF had very helpful cabin crew and terrific food even in Y class. Its so nice to see how GF had made itself much more competitive and aggressive in promoting its premium class. I had flown its competitor Emirates in bith J and Y classes and EK did a very fantastic job with world-class service and amenities. It seemed that GF was somewhat overshadowed by the successes of EK as well as Etihad and Qatar Airways but somehow your video proved how GF can be at a par with its competitors from the Arabian Gulf. Keep up the great job :-)
You wear whatever is comfortable and relaxing for you dont worry about the negative comments that people put. I love watching all your videos xx
Thanks so much for the support Rose :)
I'm a Brit living in the USA. I love your videos, and, thank God you know how to eat with a knife and fork and your gob shut!! Millie is a classy lady and only adds to the high standard of your videos. Cheers, keep it up!!
I can’t imagine thinking you need to dress up when flying expensive seats.
If you pay an excess amount for that seat in order to maximize comfort, what’s the point in being uncomfortable just to look good? I’ll tell you, there isn’t one.
Not to mention, the staff put up with some crazy requests (quite commonly, actually.) I can assure you, what you’re wearing is the least of their worries.
Loo Review is back and a plane with a bum gun! hahaha. found the term funny. Nice review! Maybe you should put out a video of best blankets, or best kits, or best pajamas... just thinking out loud.
Mate just wear what ever you want. Most important content you need to creat is giving us great content that is the main things, not what you wear. I love your content. Kerp up the great work mate
Tracksuit when I fly. I want to be as comfortable as possible. I even bring my home carpet slippers 🤣
Now you're talking Paul 🙌
You know you becoming famous when your jeans matters to others 😎
haha i never thought of it that way, hilarious right. Thanks for watching mate
@@Trektrendy Thanks for the quality content 👌
Hahaha
I go casual in first and business. I am all for the comfort, the reason I fly that class to begin with!
Absolutely 🙌🏼 it’s what it’s all about for a long flight, comfort :)
Can't wait till Gulf Air starts flying to the USA.
Wearing what you want is the best thing to do. Happy travels x
Great video as always - always wanted to try Gulf Air. There was a story over the weekend where the GA 787-9 was practicing for its flyby at the Bahrain GP. Seb Vettel highlighted that it was bad for the environment - Gulf Air said no problem Seb - we have some experimental biofuel that we could use!!! So cool!
Thanks so much for watching buddy. And yeah I saw wasnt that epic! Let's hope they extend their route network a bit and buy a few more of those dreamy 787-9s :)
@@Trektrendy Next time I want more rips in your jeans 😂
I miss this style of video from you, where the vast majority of the content was your in-the-moment impressions of everything, instead of glamor shots and post-production voiceover.
Great video, makes me want to give Gulf Air a go rather than rely on Qatar or Emirates. Just a shame their route network is not as good for transiting to other destinations so limits the appeal somewhat
Great product! So much privacy! 👏🏼✈️
Great video. When it comes to flying you should dress in what is comfortable for you and it is nobody else's business. I prefer to dress up if I am flying in a higher-end cabin but then again I don't get to fly as often as I wished.
Nice video, regarding travel attire when air traveling, be it tourist or business/1st classes, I wouldn't mind at all dressing casual, comfortable. If I look like a bum on first class, then be it. You're the customer man, the one paying for the airline first or business class offering, you get to choose how to dress on the trip.
You mentioned that you get comments about your casual dress. Don’t worry about it, I think you look fine. When your sitting on a plane for hours, you want to be comfortable. Your nice and tidy and you do dress up if the occasion calls for it. Eg. the Orient Express.
Been flying Gulf Air since 1980. Easily the best airline and has been for years with a constant standard that never deteriorates
Travel is stressful enough, so you may as well be as comfortable as you can, your paying for the seat so what you wear doesn't matter, just be yourself.
You really should try the food everywhere. Who cares if you don’t want to be full. You are reviewing these places and not always eating the food
I remember Gulf Air well. My family lived in Bahrain for 1.5 yrs. When we left a friend of the family Upgraded our seat to 1st class on Pan Am. We left at 1am or later....we slept upstairs. Love your videos. You should explain your love of NASA. I've never seen you talk about it.
Hey Trek! First of all being from Bahrain, I would like to thank you for flying Gulf Air, reviewing it and sharing your personal thoughts, i hope you liked our new terminal! Currently Bahrain is doing well even in this pandemic, with vaccinations and testing. Gulf Air only operates their flights to London, Pakistan and several Gulf States, and I hope that they expand their service to New York in the US soon. The price of the ticket for what is worth is way beyond the limits, especially for those transit passengers! Once again thank you for visiting bahrain, and we would be glad to have you back soon!
True that! But gulf air doesn't fly to only London in Europe, frankfurt and Paris aswell and in East pacific they fly to Manila, Bangkok and from 3rd April they are starting flights to Singapore. 😄
Thanks I’m glad you liked the video :) and I will be back onboard Gulf soon. Loved the new terminal, I have a separate video coming very soon to the channel where I explore and also fly Gulfs brand new A321 in business
Super excited about the new Singapore route, especially as it’s also operating the 787. I’ll no doubt be on this later in the year providing things open up 🤞🏼
Their 787s**. They also fly them to the Philippines, Thailand, and their upcoming destination this week, Singapore. They operate a single flight to Paris and Frankfurt on their recently added A321neo, due to the current situation and demand. The plan of Gulf Air with its rising destinations along with the new terminal, recent Israel flights and some of the highest rated non-quarantine rules (if negative on arrival) make it one of the best airlines to fly during the pandemic. Once again, thanks for flying to Bahrain, we hope you enjoyed your transit here...
7:05 hah imagine doing that on a full flight
Sounds like the clothes haters are jealous again. Wear whatever you want bro!
Fantastic job as always Will. Great stuff. I've tried the Oman Air version of that apex suite and can confirm that it is very comfortable. Shame that Etihad Guest charges a fair bit too many miles in order to redeem for Gulf Air but at least one has the option to grab a seat with their award currency
I just subscribed to your channel and I really like it. Especially that you spice it up with a sense of humor. To answer your question…I’m working with an airline and travelled myself in Business Class for vacation and I always dress up in casual Business attire. Not to fancy but also not too casual. As a customer with our airline you can literally wear what you want unless you don’t show up half naked 😂
Bum-Gun? Perfectly named!🤺🇦🇺🇬🇧
Flew GF a few years ago on their older aircraft and business seat, it was made excellent by their staff, who were attentive, friendly and a total delight to fly with, food was excellent too. Look forward to flying in the new aircraft/seat.
The panic on your face as the camera started falling was phenomenal
Awesome video Trek.Their speciality is they have one of the underated business class. They also have one of the best seating in their 787 and also they have one of the world's best retro livery .....Loved the video much ❤️...You should also try Air India business class product 👍
I know this may be a it late, but you should try out the old A330-300 (with 3 classes) on Oman air. The business class is literally IDENTICAL to first, just with a little less privacy. The seat is wide, the footrest is wide, and it is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration.
I always fly semi dressed-up and comfortable (chino,shirt/polo and jacket, all with stretch fabrics) from Uniqlo. I used to buy it in Tokyo or Paris, but nowadays they’re everywhere. It’s cheap and as comfortable as a track-suit.
7:30 Korean Air also operate that business class on most of their aircraft, including their 747-8s, 777s and 787s
Haters will pick out even the little things buddy but it’s a sign you’re doing very well! Enjoying watching you progress
My top 8 Business Class Suites seats;
1. Priestmangoode Qsuite; Qatar
2. Safran Fusio suite; ANA
3. BE Aerospace Apex suite; JAL, Korean, Oman, Gulf Air
4. Koito Diamond superwide; Singapore (previous)
5. Oman old business seats
6. Thomson Aero Vantage-XL w/ doors; Delta, Shanghai, China Eastern
7. Thomson Aero Vantage-Solo suite; JetBlue
8. Collins Aerospace Herringbone suite; British
🤓🛫🤓🛫🤓🛫🤓🛫🤓🛫🤓🛫🤓🛫🤓
And you've never been on any so good job
Regarding what people should wear when travelling in Business Class; I dress casual (with new or reasonably new looking clothes). I see no need to "dress up" for the occasion, as I have paid for my seat and should not have to follow a dress code. I think you are right to wear what you are most comfortable in and what fashion you prefer. Great videos by the way!
People who play dress up for a plane ride are sad :(
great video mate. I also like to wear whatever the fuck I want when I fly in the pointy end. A
NASA never a straight answer! why?
It reminds me of the JAL Business Suites. I wouldn't ever consider Gulf Air but after this video, I might have to give them a go!. Thanks for the info
Love Gulf Air! Super underrated. its new Bahrain Hub is also awsome
Its connectivity is a very downside in my opinion. They're longest flight is Manila-Bahrain (9 hours) they dont fly to US or Australia
Also i think Gulf Air's inflight entertainment is a downside i can count only 85 movies in the inflight entertainment
Also i dont know why scamtrax (skytrax) whould rate this 3 stars
Apex suites are the best business class seats after the enclosed suites offered by delta Qatar, ANA China eastern.
How did you manage to get an entry permit for Bahrain? As far as I know they do not permit entry for touristic purposes due to the pandemic.
Bahrain is open for tourists since September last year, Visa on arrival is also available.
If you wear a suit or format wear in business class without having an actual reason to, then you're just pretending. Business class is about being ready for the meeting the next day after you land, not being ready for the meeting while in the air.
As for the travel wear thing... I don't know, I'm a soft sell because I think Wills is sexy AF no matter what he wears.
I was a big fan of the British Pullman video attire. Both you and Millie looked expensive but not haughty. You looked tailored, but natural and comfortable.
For me personally, it's business casual with the accent on casual. Probably a comfortable trouser with a dress shirt, no tie or suit or anything. If I am wearing jeans, then I might have a blazer or even some suspenders just to dress it up a little bit, and make it *_adult_* The blazer has to be usable with just about anything else I have.
There are also ways to look classy without being uncomfortable-like the blazer, or an adult shoe like a suede loafer in a dark color of good leather. Although, if you need a trainer, Beckett Simonon has some athletic shoes done in quality deep brown and grey leather that look tatseful but are truly trainers. Also, a good quality leather carrying bag rather than a backpack is a signal of familiarity with good things in life.
In general, I just like to pay the compliment to the airline and my fellow travelers of looking good. That doesn't mean a suit, but you are going to be around these people for an extended period of time. A few bespoke touches, that make it look like you put some effort into being pleasant to be around, won't go amiss.
If you're appearance and manner look like you're trying a little, it gives a subtle signal to the crew and passengers to try a little bit harder too.
Bottom line though, and I really want to emphasize this as my most important point
Will is just plain hot.
Wow 😮 ❤ Fantastic Priduct ❤ Never Used Them, Will Definitely Give Them a Try ❤❤❤ Thanks For Sharing This ❤❤❤
I wear of who i am
My Falcon gold flight from Paris to Manila was the best flight I’ve ever had, food, service, very nice and smily crew, very clean and comfy sofa bed.m
Really!? They’re hating on your clothes??? 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
you should wear what the HELL you want to wear ,as much as you travel , you need to be confortible!!!
Thanks Bill - it's certainly my view, after-all comfort is why you want to fly a premium product in the first place
BIG= BIG QUESTION ???= TREK TRENDY ? DO YOU KEEP YOUR P.J.z SLIPPERS & ALL THE TOILET STUFF =do you take=== EM HOME ? elizabeth N.Z xox
Looking forward to flying this in November, all being well! Used your Aeroplan tip and saved about £700
What’s the tip on Aeroplan mate?
@@rasheedd1488 I bought points via Aeroplan which I then used to book a business class ticket on Gulf Air, which has recently become an Aeroplan partner. I’ve heard recently that it’s difficult to find business class redemptions on Aeroplan at the moment, so good luck!
If you're travelling business, I think you should be dressed in smart casual (at least a shirt, as you have). Your Tims aren't a crime in this class, but as it is for business people it just seems more respectful and in keeping with the environment. Leave the tracksuits and t-shirts only for economy!
As for the flight and cabin, I suddenly want to save some euroes and go to Bahrain! That cabin looks like one of the best, although that Oman seat and cabin looked a notch above!
Hey, youare paying for your journeys, your travelling, alot, would you be comfortable in a suit, shirt, tie? Travelling, needs to be done in comfort, relaxed, hygienic. Travelling, your clothes can get crumpled, abit smelly. But for luxury 1st class your ripped jeans aren't appropriate. Love your presentations, experiences.
Another great video mate and gulf air certainly looks like a nice set up :-) I have booked my BC flight on emirates 777ER STN - BKK for December as after watching your review on the new business class I wanted to try it as my normal route from AMS - BKK is A380s lol
I just started watching your channel 2 weeks ago and then watch most of the videos that you put up in the last 18 months this one just came across on RUclips and I did not even realize it was you at first. It really shows me how much you have improved, from your video editing to your narrating. Keep it up.
Please do more small luxury cruises.
I've used this Airline 3 times and I would say is not the best and not the worst, but I would rather not travel again by Gulf air.
There are ways to dress upscale AND comfortable. I usually wear my most comfortable office clothes and shoes, usually trousers and a knit top, with a jacket I rarely put on.
As far as your flights go, I cry in the USA. I would love the option to have a seat like this for a cross country flight! I started flying in the 1970s and watched the US airlines getting worse and worse, and international flights get better.
You should wear what's comfortable. There's no one (strangers) you need to impress. I like jeans with rips. I guess those leaving snarky comments are "Karens" who you'll never please anyway so "off with their heads!!!", lol.
Hey man! I'm sure other people have said this already but I'd like to say you can wear what ever the (UK accent/ bloody hell you want) 😆 I love your videos and find them to have an almost ASMR effect of me. Personally, your videos wouldn't be the same without Nasa and tims
Dissatisfied customer here. GF003 and no priority boarding. 3 hours before food served despite taking order post take-off. Food was tasty and nice wine. But no service unless you asked. Seat is excellent and blanket plus pillow adequate and what should expect from a Middle East airline.
Why would you dress up to take a flight? The more money you pay the more right you have to wear whatever the hell you want. It's not the 1930's any more. If you want to dress up, fair enough: But if I want to be relaxed then no one has any right to be sniffy about it. I've only flown better than cattle class once, to Antigua from Gatwick (business class since there was no first on that route), and I wore comfortable clothes. Didn't care what anyone thought. Screw the haters.
Imagine someone being so narrow minded to think that, after you pay a lot of money for a ticket, you should dress in a specific manner. As long as you're decent you should dress exactly as you wish. The comfier the better. Don't worry about the stuckup nobodies.
Personally, I dress for comfort and convenience. That means a T-shirt and trousers with as many pockets as possible under the assumption that I will not have access to my bag or jacket mid-flight. In cooler weather, I will wear a zip up hoodie which can be converted to a blanket or pillow as needed. If I'm flying into somewhere really cold, say Toronto in January, I'll also wear my Doctor Who scarf. Incredibly versatile and a great conversation starter.
I'm a fan From Bahrain 👋😘
No torn jeans would be my first suggestion/preference. Something other than a T-shirt. Just take it up a notch from what you'd wear in economy (where I still think torn jeans are tacky--hey, you asked! lol). I like your accent no matter what you wear though!
I love watching your videos, excellent, I personally think the you should dress comfortable. I always do.
Whatever you feel is appropriate and comfy for travel depending on how many hours you'll be seated in your seat (or lying). Uppities love to criticize others with no mind to their own (many) shortcomings, of which they are trying to be what they usu. are not.
Hey Will I work right by MSFC NASA in Huntsville you ever want any NASA clothes let me know! Also can get you a tour with you and Millie :)
Who cares how you dress. If you can afford the cost might as well also break a stereotype that wealthy people have to be in best attire al the time
I think you should dress comfortably but throw in a nice coat/blazer etc. if the need arises to dress yourself up a smidge. My hubby travels in jeans, a tee shirt, with a button down on but unbuttoned to avoid wrinkles, and carries a sports coat. That way he can button up his shirt, tuck it in, throw on his coat and he’s ready for his business meeting.
However comfort should be the goal.
If you can't dress comfortably in first class, then what's the point of buying an extra comfortable first class seat? I've flown first in cargo pants and a T-shirt, same as I'd wear anywhere. Anybody who cares is just trying to artificially inflate their sense of self worth.
I love the comments about your clobber mate. Keep it up! Love the channel and your opinions and dedication to cracking on at 35,000 feet!
How should you dress for first class travel? Just about anyway you want, as long as you are clean and presentable. Ripped jeans with major holes is not presentable. But maybe I'm just old school.
Wear what is comfortable. I travel in tracks and tee shirt (no holes)🤣 in Business Class. If been met at airport and going directly to office then I'll change at airport.
who would wipe their hand with paper if you got poop on it? So that is why you need the WATER GUN for your REAR!!! So much cleaner!!!
The answer is obvious you wear what you want you’ve paid the ticket price so clearly you can afford a suit if you wanted. Me personally I’d wear gym shorts at shirt and enjoy my flight. I know it’s a hard concept for people to get but you don’t always have to look at your finest. Who are you going to seduce in those seats? Your future wife stewardess who’s paid to pretend she truly cares?
Wearing Nasa Tshirts just reminds me of Noel Phillips and nobody wants that.. Also its an AirBridge
I don't think you need to dress up for flying anymore. Comfort is a priority BUT I just hate torn jeans. No one hates you mate, you've a brilliant personality. It's just the jeans lollllll
Yes you should wear a 3 piece suit and an overcoat talk very loudly about your stock options and your crypto. Not to mention telling the FA that your flying commercial because your private jet is getting Maintenance.
You paid for your ticket, wear whatever is comfortable. Any other comments against that don't know what they are talking about and most likely have never travelled first before... point is if it is within the airlines rules and you are comfortable no other opinions matter :)
If not travelling with colleague then I wear anything that suits me best.
Let's say it is a overnight flight, I will change to my PJs as soon as I board.
I don't give a sh*t how I look. Whoever met me on the flight probably never meet me again for the rest of my life... so why do I need to care.
I would dress in comfortable clothes its just a plane ride. Also seeing that the seat would be comfortable I'd like to add to the relaxation by wearing comforting clothes.
literally just changed my flight after watching the video.
Wear what’s comfortable 100%. Travelling for long hours in a suit and tight polished shoes? I don’t think so
I think you should wear what you want… Just because it’s business class doesn’t mean you have to wear certain clothes. That’s just ridiculous.
To my shock
Not even surprise
I found Gulf Air Falcon Class first rate
Comparable in comfort to other Middle East First Class and delightful service
If you prefer to have a freshly cooked superb filet steak to caviar and blinis the food will suit you
From start to finish the Gulf crew were friendly informal and helpful
On the plane and ground and lounge staff.
The entertainment is relatively limited and that's my only quibble
Plus you have to pay for WiFi
I went with Gulf because I had little option
I would happily travel with them from choice.
My daughters loved the flight.
As far as clothing goes, I would wear what's comfortable. I certainly don't suggest renting formal wear to fly.
Your dress attire is fine. Better than most folks flying.
Comfort is the way to go especially on long hauls. The only time I do dress up is if I’m flying with my friend on his pass in business. Mainly because it is airline policy (so no shorts, shirts need to have a collar and no sandals).
I just flew British Airways first class. I wore joggers to be comfortable because it was a night flight. I’m not trying to impress anyone with how I dress
I enjoyed that all the tips and and very clear with your comments. holes in jeans...mate of mine has pair joke jeans which has a pretend bum hanging out, you need some.....now for another shirts in or out ?
why on earth some would dress up for a flight of 8+ hours? Flying in this clases is meant to be comfortable, not a nuisance, even in economy I would encourage people to be as comfortable as possible, people are nuts
Why would people give you hate comments about your travel attire? That's so weird! Basically, it's no one's business what you're wearing as long as it's civilized.
