UPDATE 20 January, Response from Gulf Air I've had another frank and unprompted call from the A/CCO and his team. This was not a "we fixed everything, it's all better now!" call, but rather just a deeper dive into the issues at hand. As we've just passed through New Years (and where I am now, just gearing up for Lunar New Year), this is clearly not the most productive time of the year, but I do have to say I'm encouraged. I would remind my audience that Gulf Air originally reached out to me via email 2 days after this video was published- long before its views took off, I'm not sure who it needs to be said to, but this responsiveness (regardless of the tone of the video or the size of the airline) is decidedly uncommon. While I'm not holding my breath for any specific outcome, it's very clear to me that the message has been heard quite loud and clear and there is a team actively working on root causing it piece by piece. I look forward to keeping in touch with them and learning of any adjustments that may come in the future. UPDATE 30 December, Response from Gulf Air As I have mentioned in many videos in the past, I think Service Recovery is a difficult but worthwhile process that far too many companies have lost touch with in this day and age. I'm a firm believer that even some of the worst customer service experiences can be turned around. A few days after I published this video, I received an email from Gulf Air Guest Support. Attached to it was a fairly run of the mill letter that acknowledged the short comings without going into extensive detail. As you would expect, the letter assured me that customer care is a focus of the company and it asked for a contact number from me to have a further conversation. A couple of days later, I received a call from Dhaz Hunjan, the Chief Commercial Officer at Gulf Air. The conversation was exceedingly pleasant and was much more frank and honest than I was expecting, which I appreciate. I was told they just wanted to touch base before the holidays and that after their investigation into the flight details, they'll be in touch again in the new year, which I welcomed. The only thing I can say for sure that will not come out of this is a purely sponsored 'review' follow up video- you know how I feel about those. But besides that, I am as open as they are and would consider making another video (not a review) and/or flying them again in the context of service recovery, social media impact on airlines, how the airlines deal with content creators, etc. At this point these aren't ideas as much as they are thoughts- and it's all dependent of course on the next steps that Gulf Air takes. But I have to admit, reaching out as quickly as they did and then addressing the problems as frankly as they did... this response is going as well as one could expect and I'm curious as to what dialogue will follow. I'll keep y'all posted.
To be honest, even after the first reaction on their part, I am still appalled about flying in business class on a dirty plane AND rude and bad service. That is simply NEVER EVER acceptable. In my opinion, it makes the promised product non-existent. Who would after all pay for a dirty and obnoxious business-class flight? That means that they should refund you 100%, and NOT offer a complimentary future flight.
"Wasn´t allowed to film out of the window because of military reasons"- That part actually seems about right. I've heard this before as well, from local Thai people and being reminded of it by flight attendants.
Wow and this is from a Gulf carrier, to be honest he probably didn't want anything that they might have been doing on camera because they are doing something they shouldn't do. It sounds like he may be reprimanded. Kindness goes a long way.
I was a cabin crew member with Gulf Air for almost 12 years in the 70s & 80s - almost 9 years of which were as the Senior Cabin Crew Member (Flight Service Supervisor) and I must say such an in-flight service disaster would never have happened in those days. Very disappointing and shameful.
I remember the early 80's when Gulf Air was THE premier airline to the Gulf. Operated with an L1011, their "Golden Falcon" service from Heathrow to Bahrain was classy and unmatched.
I would fly between Oman and India on Gulf Air in the 90s, when it was jointly owned by Oman, Bahrain, Qatar abd Abu Dhabi. Loved the colourful livery and the swooping Golden Eagle on the tail ❤
No excuse for being disrespectful and rude! I remember in the early 90’s their cabin crew was the envy of all other airline crews because they were so luxurious, exotic and stayed in the nicest hotels during layovers. How different things are now when I see this review 😮 Thank you for taking one for the team so we can avoid them 😅 Wishing you a very merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏼
Hi Denise, I have worked for Gulf Air from 1980-1997 in which I was a Flight Service Supervisor(FSS) for the last 8 years. Our food was excellent and our crew members were great to fly with! It is a shame to hear that it might have changed. We are all human beings and perhaps this purser did not have his day for some reason.
Way back 2014 a flight attendant of Gulf Air just accidentally poured the hot tea on my lap …and she was shocked she just said “oh no are you ok?” At first i told her nothing to worry and ill be fine ,since i was thinking that she was really nervous that time .. but the bad thing is she never apologize, never gave me any blanket to wipe my wet stinky pants or none of the crew got a brains to check me out… i was waiting for them what to do in such situation like that.. but until the plane arrived to bahrain i havent heard anything from them..will never ride Gulf air again very disappointing…
I flew Virgin Atlantic in economy in Feb '23 and dropped some coffee on myself (accidentally bumped the tray table with my knee). Totally my fault, felt like a fool. The cabin crew still serving the rows behind me came and apologized to me (not her fault). I then got a replacement pair of jeans from my carry-on and went to the galley for more napkins. The second flight attendant apologized to me (she wasn't even near the coffee spillage). She then told me to wait a second and took out one of their thick unused garbage bags and gave it to me for my coffee stained pants so that the rest of my carry-on didn't smell of coffee. Duly changed, I returned to my seat when the head of the entire cabin came to ask me if I was okay and hadn't been burned. I joked that the only burn was on my ego. She then returned with a cup of coffee for me, pretended to wobble as she handed it over, giggled with me and went back to the front of the plane. This is one of my best ever experiences of service on a plane and I was at the back of economy in a near full flight. I will always keep Virgin in my list of choices simply because of this one experience.
As someone from Bahrain I'm deeply disappointed and I apologize on their behalf. It's not the first time I've heard about the hostile behavior of the crew they certainly need to work on that. I'm a frequent flyer with gulf air and I'm shocked as I watch this video. It's such a shame, I would advise you to submit your complaint to the airline.
That’s very kind but it’s certainly not your fault and I don’t think it reflects Bahraini Hospitality in the slightest. If GF are trying as hard as they advertise to improve, I’d hope they have a social media team that would be seeking out trip reports like this one and passing them upwards. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
I absolutely love how this video has been articulated. Like, even after this horrible experience, the little bits of humor that you add just elevate this whole video! Definitely going to look out for more videos!
My dad used to work for Gulf Air (as a flight engineer) during the golden era of Gulf Air. Back then, Gulf Air was the pride of the Middle East, and I was very proud that my dad worked for them. The airline was really good, not only to their customers but also to their staff with generous benefits, work schedule, etc., etc. But it slowly shifted after Emirates. I remember the downward spiral beginning with Emirates, then Qatar Airways, and the final pull by Etihad. (I even knew who you were talking about when you mentioned Hogan.) I wanted to take Gulf Air this last time I traveled, for old memory's sake, but decided not to after seeing the high price and negative reviews. :) As you made your 93-second history, I was able to say in my mind, 'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt' and it bought to mind a lot of good memories! Thanks for the video.
I don't know how it is now but Seoul Gimpo used to have repeated in-flight announcements on no filming for military reasons. It was illegal and once could be arrested for espionage. There are many No Filming locations like that in China as well. But I've never heard anything of that nature in Thailand.
Hey man, sorry to hear about being treated that bad...I understand privacy is important but also we (travellers) benefit a lot from the work of youtubers like yourself...thanks for that and keep up the good work!
Nice video. Here my take. Having retired at age 51 not needing to work I fly a lot . Flying business class for me only was a 50/50 success experience. Stopped using it and decided to treat myself when getting to destinations with the savings. So I use planes to get to my destination and accept discomfort of a few hours in coach. Then have hundreds in savings to enjoy for days on my trip. Made the stupid flight secondary and necessary evil to start my vacation. Remember a corporate paid trip in business class isn’t the same as spending your own money for trip . That is a different decision to spend your own money for this service .
Cant believe Gulf Air was the Emirates of the late 90s Early 20s. It used to be so prestigious and so advanced that it developed the point to hub to point system
Just want you to know that this is priceless info for ppl. I take every bit of it to heart and have a strict list of companies that I will NOT USE EVER. Flying in any class is excruciatingly expensive and I refuse to be treated like a criminal or like I don't have the right to cleanliness. Again thanks for the suffering
I'm genuinely shocked at this review. Three years ago I did LHR-BAH-BKK and back with Gulf Air in economy and was pleasantly surprised at how good the service was.
@@tfft Just a grumpy person who wants to pull everything to pieces. You probably put those hairs there and brought the used headphones from a prevous flight. Disgraceful....
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
LHR-BAH is always good. Good airplane, nice food, excellent cabin crew. They operate this sector at a loss actually. For reference. please check their 'cash cow' flights to the subcontinent. The food is inedible, the cabin crew will teach you what 'rude' really is.
I will be flying Gulf air from Manila to Bahrain for the first time on Business Class in a week’s time. I purposely choose this airline this time around as a way to expand my travelling experience. I hope and pray it will be a pleasant experience and not a nightmare as you described it. Coz’ if it turns out to be the same as yours, they will never see me fly again with them and many of my friends and acquaintances. Airlines often don’t realize that one unhappy customer leads to lost businesses down the road. You have, for example, 400,000 viewers, even half of that believe what you say, that’s a staggering 200,000 of lost revenue.
I mean, yes you are correct, but it's helpful to note that there's a good chance that 90% of viewers did not have any intention of ever flying Gulf Air to begin with... so it makes the 'loss' quite a bit more narrow in focus. Thanks for watching 🩴
Your videos are all relatable. A 100% accurate reviews. I have seen all your videos and realised that I can finally rely on a person on RUclips who is not doing for fame, but for raw awareness to the views I wish you All the best and would be happy to see with 1mil soon.
The purser's behavior and disrespect are inexcusable AND should result in a formal complaint on your behalf! These tickets do not come cheap. The least you should expect is civility (if friendliness is impossible), decent food, the usual amenities, and a clean pillow and throw. As they did not provide this, you should ask for compensation and more! This air of misplaced superiority and condescending aggression should be discussed at the highest level at Gulf Air. Sending a reference to your vlog to H.E. Mr. Al Zayani will do the trick!!!
I believe an airline (or any business) that is interested in improving themselves, will monitor and seek out trip reports like these. We shall see if I get an email in the next weeks. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
I think the purser knew that the amenities on the plane were lacking (headphones, pillow, blanket and PJs), and knew this would be an embarrassment, so decided to go down the "threaten and terrify" road by turning off your camera and giving you crap. If you collected the deficiencies on camera, there would be hard proof against him, and the investigation that's currently happening would take place. He just dug his hole even deeper.
I feel so sad after seeing this video. I am an ex cabin crew of Gulf Air, like 15 years ago & I loved my job. Ofcourse our priority was to help passengers have a safe and comfortable flight which many crew members like me made sure to do so on every flight for which we also received appreciation letters & the best part was seeing the smiles on the faces of our onboard guests. We used to even check all amenities before boarding. It is very sad to see that the crew, the aircraft & the food was not pleasing to you. I still remember our passengers used to requests if there was more food because they liked the food & the service.
That was the experience I was hoping for going into this flight- but it seems cost cutting and lack of training have had their effects. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Excellent video (as always) and thanks for the brutally honest review !. Credit to you for continuing to video the in-flight experience despite the extremely rude and hostile purser. I hope you filed a complaint with Gulf regarding your total flight experience and specifically mentioning the purser by name. Sorry you had a truly miserable flight...but it was a great video. Thanks and have a Merry Christmas !
At the end of the day, my work day started as I stepped on board and I certainly wasn’t going to miss a day of work 😅 Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas 🙏🏻🎄

Came back last week from BKK to London via Bahrain. I was in economy and didn't have any issues, not with the crew and everything was clean. It was a better experience than many others with a big plus as the legroom is 32" which makes a huge difference for long flights.
I flew Business Class on Gulf Air from Karachi to London, via Bahrain. That was a few years ago; it was such a good airline then and the staff and crew were amazing. Sad to see it has declined.
my first Gulf Air flight, mid 70s, the 'Five star Tristar' service - tremendous. Seen the decline when other states set up their own airlines and stopped flying Gulf Air. Glad to see that they are once again trying to improve and let's hope that they take your experience and act on it. Especially the purser's attitude, after all you are paying his wages! The dirty cutlery, pillow and blankets - you should have complained directly to the purser. Never mind 'stop filming' - start 'Customer service'
I was very much appalled by the behavior of the purser! His rude attitude and tune (as u described it, a parent scolding a child!) Oh God I hope he got fired and was made an example of for other fellow pursers out there! I’ve had my share of dealing with rude pursers and I can totally relate when you said you just couldn’t wait to get outta that flight. Bless you. Thank you for the sincere and utterly honest review 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Im taking that airline on my way back home from, and I normally like to video of the plane and now I'm scared if I will be allowed to record or take photos.
I recently travelled with Gulf Air from Islamabad to London Heathrow, my stay in Bahrain was 16 hours they give me 5 star hotel stay, transit visa, travel and three times food ❣️❣️❣️
Man, i remember asking you for hotels/flights to the Middle East. Currently in Bahrain right now and I’m ashamed with how poorly Gulf Air treated you. Definitely going to avoid them whenever I can
I’m fairly picky about what airlines I choose to do business with. I mostly travel internationally from the US if I ever have to fly so it’d be a kick in the teeth having a hostile staff, poor service, and a dirty cabin overall after shelling thousands of dollars just for an economy ticket. This was a business class ticket and the service was this poor, it’s just jarring
Man it sucks when you paid so much money for the entire business class experience and received terrible service on board. In my opinion crew service is one of the most important (if not THE MOST IMPORTANT) things to consider before splurging on business class. I have dealt with rude flight attendant before (in business class as well) during my holiday and it totally ruined my entire trip. Hope you get a good follow-up response from Gulf Air! Thanks for sharing
I can only say - I flew four sectors on GF in the last two weeks. BKK-BAH-FRA and return. My experiences were good. I had no problems what so ever. You can pick any airline in this world and if things go wrong you will find problems. I was very ok with them and treated well in J Class with my black status alongside. No complaints. Thanks for your honest report!
The Purser needs to be fired. Because of your video, I just canceled 2 business class tickets as I can’t believe how DIRTY business class was. Unacceptable.
I have seen pursers being uncomfortable with filming and asking to stop, but the way he took the phone and stopped recording is jarring to say the least and set the tone. Smart of you for not making a fuss, this guy looks like someone who would have tried to get you detained in Manama just for the power trip.
Yes, I'm shocked (well not really, it's the internet) at how many people suggested I should have argued with the guy lol. Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
I was only once able to fly Business Class because I got an upgrade as my sister knew someone at Air France. I remember they drew the curtains immediately after take off and the service was incredible. I always wished I would strike it rich one day as I got to see what a huge difference in service. Everything was immaculate. Never noticed dirty silverware and i notice things like that as I am a germphobe. I had a hard time in India but I do love Indian food. I didn't eat at any unfamiliar places. I regret now as I want to explore some more. Yes, it is shocking to be treated so badly in business class!! I notice my flight crew in business class were a cut above the rest of the crew in economy. How can an Airline not know this?
I have traveled on Gulf Air when I was a college student as it was cheap. It was like a bus. What shocked me was that the Airline made two stopovers that was not on their itinerary. The pilot then made an announcement that we were going to make yet another stop over. The whole plane revolted!!! So he couldn't make that stop. But one good thing I have to say was the food and the free drinks. The food had to be the best food I have ever eaten on a plane. The aromas of the dinner was incredible!! It was Biryani. The first time I had ever eaten and the best dish in my life! That was 27 years ago and I have never forgotten it. They offered free alcohol and served it continuously through out the flight. I didn't drink any by the passenger next to me drank whiskey, like a fish. He could barely stand up and reeked of alcohol by the time we landed. I guess they tried to bribe everyone because of all the extra stopovers. I was so exhausted as it make for a long international flight even though most of the stops were in the middle east. It was a nightmare flight. But I have traveled to India to eat as much Biryani as I could. But that first memory of that meal will always live with me. I did reach out to the travel agent and told him of my nightmare experience. The gimmick they count on is that it is a hundred or two less than the other Airlines so they know most folk will book with them. But I rather pay a little more and be treated well especially on those long international flights. ps...yes, you are right, that dish was definitely not Biryani. It is sad that they have fallen so low. I was going to travel on Gulf Air at the end of this year, but now I will have to find another carrier. Thanks for letting us know as I don't want to disappointed at the beginning of my flight. I might look at how you rated Emirates as it might be my next option.
we flew Bangkok London via BAH in Feb this year , and have to say was wonderful in business class- what a shame . we loved it and had none of these issues ,
sorry to hear about your experience. I flew with them a few months ago, also business, and had a great experience myself. consistent service is hard to find these days. 😮
never again, I had the worst experience with them. The staff literally was treating me like shit and even threatened me and challenging me to tell me he will make sure I will not get on the flight.
I am surprised about how bad your experience was. We flew from Manila to Frankfurt with Gulf Air in BC in Oktober, and it was a very good experience. I definitely prefer them over Emirates on that route since the EK BC is super outdated on most of their 777. We will fly back to Manila in a few weeks, and I truly hope that the experience will be as good as in October
I am sure your experience was good but that is not to say we are all treated equally by flight attendants. Case in point, my husband is white and I am a beautiful black woman😄 Unfortunately, there have been times when my husband has had to check the attitude of some (not all) of the flight attendants on my behalf😊!
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
Thanks Kevin for your great videos. I am learning so much from your honest opinions and which airlines such as Gulf Air to keep away from. Air travels costs so much especially in Business, and we the passenger deserve exceptional service at all times. I do not know how such grumpy and disrespectful cabin crew especially a cabin manager can keep their job.
I'd be curious if they in fact did keep their jobs in this case as Gulf Air has been in regular contact with me since the publishing and safe to say that "everyone" in Bahrain has seen the video.
Gulf Air could have been Emirates years ago! They were amazing during the 80s and 90s as in previous comments. The issue here relates to training and standardisation since I had similar experiences with Qatar Airways and British Airways too, but realised it was not their typical standard and just very bad flight stewards or stewardesses. I think sometimes it depends on who is doing the training or any updates and the management. Pity they don’t fly the A330s since they were comfortable in economy versus the cramped 787 or 777 cabins
thanx for sharing this review, I am never gonna take gulf air for sure....keep up the good work and keep publishing honest reviews ✌🤘....also, u should have published the flight number, date, and name of the crew publicly, it's important for them to learn a lesson
First of your reviews I have watched and you got me. Subscribed! Very thorough and you certainly showed evidence of your (in this case) gripes. Looking forward to more.
So without the incident that occured, it is interesting to say that the over quality is subpar, or the fact tha this flight was a bad flight experience. I had the same thing happened to me in SQ flight from SYD > SG where the service ,food was extremely rushed.
Used to fly the same leg then continued from BAH to Rome. My experience was mixed but again it very depends on the crew so quality control in the airline is really the thing that is missing.
Firstly thank you so much for your candid views. These views, help us, to choose the right airline for our own flight experience. You provide much fine detail, so that we can see, exactly what is going on behind the name. When I was employed at LHR, back in the late 80's, and watched the Gulf Air Tristar's pushback, I heard that Gulf Air was indeed a very good airline to fly with. Their customer service and in-flight catering of the very highest standard. Alot of family members who to India via Bahrain, were full of compliments for the airline. But as someone stated here, and of course you did in your video, the airline has started to go downhill. Keep up the good work. We need more open videos, like this to make a good choice. Yes it does depend on our very own experiences, but by watching videos like this, it gives us a head start, as to what to expect. Thank you
Great video as usual because you always say what you see honestly and clearly. That' s a great help for all travellers even if on this ocasión they always tried to stop you filming. Thanks to honest you tubers like you we have a real idea what's going on in different flying companies we"ve never flown. Keep on that way please. You are doing fine even if they don't lay a red carpet when they see you at the entrance of the plane because they always say " everything is fantastic"(don"t want to mention name/s).
Gulf air could be so much more. The Dreamliner and A321 Falcon Gold hard products are genuinely very tempting. However, it is the soft product that lets them down. The cabin crew are poorly trained and if you get a bad one, they make even Etihad crew seem warm and friendly. The wine in business is a very poor selection and the crew have no idea what they are serving. They are also slow and unresponsive. On my most recent flight I asked one of the crew why one of the lavatory doors had been locked all flight, she had clearly forgot to unlock it after we reached cruising altitude and just unlocked it and walked off with a miserable face. Flying back from Europe to Asia (6 of us in Business) they took over 5 months and more than 10 emails to credit all of our miles to my family account - this is a material issue because it equates to nearly a return trip from BKK to LDN. The airport in Bahrain is new but the service terrible, they genuinely do not like visitors.
I work for Gulfair for almost 23 years and I’m a purser this will not happen on my flight if every crew is briefed about customer service and how to deliver high quality service I’m so sorry this thing happen
My video following this one (BAH-IST) I think shows a very different side of GF- much more of the hospitality and service I was expecting. Just an FYI I will keep the pinned comment posted with updates from the GF response as I think it’s important to share the full story. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year 🎉
That is one of the kind bad indeed. I have had economic class flights from SIN to FRA via BAH this year. Solid product in general (although only reasonably food) and the flight attendants were lovely enough to bring me amenity kit of higher cabin as I requested an eye mask. The A321LR service was nothing to shout out but still fast and efficient. I think the new BAH was a nice terminal but obviously staff members are not trained to use the new security machines. From your video, I'd assume GF is still a fairly inconsistent carrier (with some providing lovely services and some just complete disasters). I guess I would jump on a good deal on Apex suites if available, but not really intentionally flying on it haha. Thanks for the amazing review as always!!
Thanks for the upload. I’m not likely to ever use this airline but it’s always good to know how the different companies perform. Regarding the A.F. lounge it certainly is a lot better than the Amex one they use at São Paulo which has to be the most dreary and overcrowded I’ve ever (almost) used. I say almost because on 2 occasions now I’ve just turned around and walked out it’s so bad and won’t even attempt to use it again.
You should see the Centurion Lounge in the domestic terminal in Delhi, makes SP look like the height of luxury. 18 seats, 30 staff, no tables but the food is all table service 🤣
I flew to BKK with Gulf Air in Dec 2022 and from previous experiences I would agree with you, I complained to GA on numerous occasions to the CEO directly. My experience in Dec was a real surprise when I arrived at the the new BAH airport lounge and was blown away by the offering, excellent food, beverages, and exceptional service and my favourite by some distance. The plane from BAH to BKK had the best business classes seats and in my opinion better than Emirates which is my usual. Give them a go, you will be surprised. The plane in your video isnt the same as the new plane I took from BAH. I dont work for GA or have any affiliation.
We're looking at flights right now and Gulf came up with best prices for single stop flights. Remembering some friends recently used them I gave my pal a ring..."Don't even think of it, terrible experience. The staff treat you like an inconvenience."
I have happily watched many of your videos knowing you are honest, fair, objective and not a drama queen screaming for attention like some other travel reviewers. I have also seen a number of other fairly recent reviews showing video on Gulf Air and many videos from the windows of aircraft at BKK. with no sign of an over zealous flight attendant laying down the law as they invent it. I would definitely contact the airline and register your experiences with them. They need to know. Most improved airline according to Skytrax. The site where airlines pay to win an award.
This is unexpected of Gulf Air, as you rightly said we look forward for Gulf Air to be good. I think there is a world of difference to the services offered to the flights to Europe than to Asia which is kind of similar of other carriers but not as much. I hope Gulf Air is consistent all across, an Airline with tremendous history we just expect more.
I'm an expat who works in Bahrain, but home is the Philippines, so I've flown business class with both Gulf and Emirates from Bahrain to Manila. In comparing the 2, I prefer Gulf to Emirates. I do agree the male attendants who fly for Gulf come off as condescending, I find the condition of the aircraft equipment (I.e. seats and amenities) to be just a step above for Gulf over Emirates. Though this could be due to the actual aircraft age and route. As for convenience, Gulf is the only carrier in Bahrain that flys direct to MNL, with all others have extensive layovers. I've never had a problem with the food, and I believe the issues you ran into with food quality is more an issue with the contract provider in Bangkok than the actual airlines itself. I may be wrong, but I doubt Gulf has a dedicated Chef and culinary staff preparing meals in Bangkok for Gulf Air flights. Overall good review though, and did learn some nice-to- know info from your video
Sure, the catering comes from Bangkok (I hope it didn't come from Bahrain lol) but I've had plenty of fantastic meals from catering in Bangkok, so I can't really say it's catering's fault. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I AGREE WITH YOU ON THE FOODS WHICH ARE PREPARED IN BANGKOK. EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT LIKES GULF AIR FOODS FROM THEIR DIFFERENT DESTINATION. EMIRATES CABIN ARE MUCH NICER.
I totally agree! I flew Gulf in Economy last year, and it was my worst flight experience ever. Poor food, lackluster entertainment service, and 70 minutes before landing the crew collected headphones and blankets. I’ve never seen anything like it! And my checked baggage was damaged. Despite providing all the requested documents for reimbursement, it’s been almost 9 months since they accepted my claim, and I still haven’t received a refund. Never again!
Many thanks for sharing your experience. Some points you raised would have been difficult to do anything about e.g. purser and their attitude to onboard filming, but personally, I would made the crew aware of the dirty pillow, blanket and cutlery and requested replacements. I would also have been tempted to request the meal service be sped-up if, like you, I had planned to sleep.
I’d agree with you if it was one, two or a few issues. But at some point I think we just tipped the scales and there was not much that could have been done to redeem the flight, frustrating as it may be. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I'm very shocked too, especially after my very positive experience back in May. I thought the service was absolutely fantastic. Perhaps you just got a bad crew. Not sure why the meal took 4 hours but it sure wasn't that way when I flew. On a side note, there were bathroom odours leaking out of the bathrooms in front of row 1 that made sitting in 1A quite unpleasant. I would definitely choose either row 2 or 4 next time. Also, they had XL PJs on both of my flights. I was even offered them on the FRA-BAH day flight, so I ended up with two pairs.
I’m sorry you didn’t experience the best out of Gulf Air.. but as we all know that not everyday is a perfect day, please don’t let this once experience define the whole Gulf Air experience. I hope you can fly again with Gulf Air and see the amazing and true experience and hospitality they can deliver to the customers. Keep up the good content!
I really hope for your sake that Gulf Air sees this video and can escalate things to be addressed about the service atrocities you faced… simply inexcusable. They have unfortunately become extremely inconsistent with the service. I have flown with them on three different occasions and I have experienced everything from really amazing service to absolutely awful service on those 3 flights.
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
Thank you for your honest and in depth review. I loved your occasional humorous responses. You’ve done the travelling public a huge service.. I’ve not seen such an appalling business class.
I fly Gulf Air all the time and never had a bad experience.. you must have been very unlucky i think. Anyway.. Keep traveling, and keep sharing. All the best
I don’t often submit complaints because I find form letters as responses insulting and only help to increase my anger or dissatisfaction so really, my only recourse is to not give them my money. Either way I don’t think they’d care. In course i’d give it a shot.
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
You speak well of the LKM lounge prior to your flight however I and my wife would never fly KLM ever again. As during the war in Ukraine 2014 the Donetsk airport had been destroyed which was to be our destination. For some reason KLM refused to accept that there would be no flights to Donetsk and would not return our fares if we cancelled even though the airport was by then non existent and when speaking to the representatives they informed us they had not heard otherwise even though it had been on national news.
My very 1st comment on your channel even though I have watched many videos especially your excellent hotel reviews. I'm absolutely shocked and flabbergasted at the poor quality of the Gulf Air product overall. If it's this bad in business class how bad is it in economy class?? 😱 Thanks for another brilliant upload
I cannot get over that Arabic coffee cup! I would have refused to eat anything after that. Getting sick on board, 35.000 feet above is the last thing I need. Thank you for your review and wishing you Happy Holidays!
I am really sorry about the experience you had. This will be a concern for those who want to try this airline. Anyway, thank you for your review, and Merry Christmas! From the fan from Thailand🎄
I travelled a few years ago from Dubai to Istanbul with my wife. We were issued two sets of boarding passes, including those form Dubai to Bahrain and Bahrain to Istanbul. Dubai to Bahrain flight was ok but when we switched planes in Bahrain, we found out that they had already issued boarding passes from Bahrain to Istanbul for same seat numbers to someone else who had boarded from Bahrain. I protested to the cabin crew and the male perser instead of being apologetic or trying to resolve the issue, shouted at me and threatened with offloading me. My wife was absolutely distressed so I decided not to further the confrontation and we were about to take separate seats from Bahrain to Istanbul when two kind gentlemen felt sorry for us and vacated their seats for us. This was the worst experience of my over 2 decades of air travels and I have never traveled Gulf Air since.
I have strong suspicions that the purser knew that the catering on the flight was a disaster and wanted to do everything possible to avoid it being filmed for review. Its also quite possible that he is aware of action being taken against crew in the past for bad reviews. Of course none of this excuses in anyway the way he treated you.
@@tfft Also good man, love your flight reviews, some of the most polished ones out there. If your ever flying international in and out of Melbourne, Australia be sure to include some ramp footage, I might get to feature in the review 🤣
Your experience is an impact of a management personals change who have no class/level/hospitality background and a result of an experienced crew unfair lay offs during covid. James Hogen put GF on a map of one of the best airlines during his service. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I concur with your assessment of Gulf Airlines. I have flown with on Gulf Airlines roughly 20-25 times over the years. On my recent return flight from the Philippines to Bahrain earlier this month I was asked if I had alcohol in a gatorade bottle that I had purchased near our boarding gate simply because I requested a cup of ice because my gatorade had gotten warm. I found that to be very disrespectful. Also the onboard meals are absolutely horrendous to say the least. Plus our flight was delayed by 4 hours, then we sat on the plane with no explanation from the staff and no aircon. I will never flight Gulf Airlines again.
I must restate my position on middle east airlines. Not going to use them. To be even more honest, El Al is excellent like Lufthansa is excellent. On a technical basis but soft product...yikes. I had the most unpleasant purser (LAX-TLV) who accused me of not properly paying for the upgrade from economy to business. She forced me into premium economy which made no sense as I would have thought she'd demand me go back to my originally planned seat. These power trip pursers ruin the airline reputation faster than a speeding TGV. I feel for you young man.
Just found this channel earlier and already loving your high quality cinematography and your witty commenting style. Looking forward to more videos from you! sending love and support ❤❤
Recently I traveled with Gulf Airlines. They run the flight very smoothly but some of their cabin crews are not welcoming and rude. I asked for a cup of coffee after my meal but the cabin crew said she served it during the meal so she can’t serve the coffee to me again. I was surprised to see how unprofessional she was! I had a long flight and I was waiting just to see whether she serves coffee to me or not. She didn’t even bother to come. They were reluctant to offer water too. Even I had to ask for a blanket twice from them though I was traveling alone with an infant. Main course was nice but side dishes were bad and undercooked.
The last time I flew with Gulf Air was during the pandemic, when I had to go Muscat to London return, with an aircraft change in Bahrain on both flights. I flew economy, and i have to say that the flights themselves were perfectly fine. On arrival in Oman, however, I was denied entry because I had not flown non-stop from the UK, and the Gulf Air ground staff were worse than useless. Having taken me to the hotel at Muscat Airport, they appeared to feel that their work was done. Had it not been for my Omani family going up the chain of command to a Major-General from the Royal Oman Police, I might have been stuck at the airport for days. As it was, I was allowed to enter the Sultanate and went straight into the Quarantine that i had already booked - but that is another story. I have not flown with Gulf Air since.
Annoying interactions like the one you had with this rude Gulf Air purser are why I am hesitant to film in airplanes/airports/in public areas in general. Especially in a foreign country whose laws I am not the most familiar with. Even as someone who is not going to film anything, the dirty utensils and pillow/blanket are absolutely unacceptable. Looks like I'll be avoiding Gulf Air... Great review though, as usual.
I had a similar situation recently. Flight attendant stopped me when she saw me videoing the outside of the plane. He did come over afterwards and politely explained to me the reason why it’s not allowed. He initially said it’s the law and also for privacy. He was very apologetic. He Handled it well.
You should be a soap-opera script-writer, Kevin, because you sure know how to get someone tuning-in for the next episode. Nice to see 20K imminent. P.S. Hate to nitpick but bee-oh-ay-cee.
I am from bahrain and i always prefer to fly with gulf air .. it is a shame that you had this experience which i found it weird to be honest. I flew hundred times and many of them are on business class and i didnt find such things. Maybe you were unlucky with this flight but in general i do believe it is a decent airline. They are not emirates of course but they still have a good potential. On behalf of bahrainis i would like to apologize for any inconvineince you had and hopefully gulf air can make it up for you with another good flight as they usually do.
Yea he was unlucky and it was a one off, all instigated when they took a dislike to the filming. I have flown GA business class dozens of times and found the whole experience to be consistently excellent. Flying with them today again too actually!
Yuk Yuk Yuk- sounds like my flights I do not have much luck and I do not have a camera to upset anybody. But you soldiered on and got the job done for us. Thank you.🙏👍
I flew Gulf Air years ago. Despite the warnings of on the spot fines, passengers were constantly smoking in the toilets. You could smell it throughout the plane and because it was so common flight attendants could do little about it. Will never fly with them again.
UPDATE 20 January, Response from Gulf Air
I've had another frank and unprompted call from the A/CCO and his team.
UPDATE 30 December, Response from Gulf Air
As I have mentioned in many videos in the past, I think Service Recovery is a difficult but worthwhile process that far too many companies have lost touch with in this day and age.
Wow, this update came out right when I was watching the vid LOL
To be honest, even after the first reaction on their part, I am still appalled about flying in business class on a dirty plane AND rude and bad service. That is simply NEVER EVER acceptable. In my opinion, it makes the promised product non-existent. Who would after all pay for a dirty and obnoxious business-class flight? That means that they should refund you 100%, and NOT offer a complimentary future flight.
"Wasn´t allowed to film out of the window because of military reasons"- That part actually seems about right. I've heard this before as well, from local Thai people and being reminded of it by flight attendants.
You may have heard it, but there is no such law in Thailand about filming at civilian airport. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year 🍾
Wow and this is from a Gulf carrier, to be honest he probably didn't want anything that they might have been doing on camera because they are doing something they shouldn't do.
The good ‘ol days! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I remember the early 80's when Gulf Air was THE premier airline to the Gulf. Operated with an L1011, their "Golden Falcon" service from Heathrow to Bahrain was classy and unmatched.
you will have known my step father then - and the man who took his job once he retired.
I would fly between Oman and India on Gulf Air in the 90s, when it was jointly owned by Oman, Bahrain, Qatar abd Abu Dhabi. Loved the colourful livery and the swooping Golden Eagle on the tail ❤
I flew from London to Bahrain- Dubai in 1977 so maybe we were on the same flight🙂
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well and thank you as always for the support 🎄🙏🏻
@@tfft , may I suggest try Philippine Airlines in your future flights. It is considered Asia's first airline to cross the Pacific.
@joeynombres777 I've flown PR many times in the past and have two flights booked with them this spring. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Philippines is the worst just like this airline
Way back 2014 a flight attendant of Gulf Air just accidentally poured the hot tea on my lap …and she was shocked she just said “oh no are you ok?” At first i told her nothing to worry and ill be fine ,since i was thinking that she was really nervous that time .. but the bad thing is she never apologize, never gave me any blanket to wipe my wet stinky pants or none of the crew got a brains to check me out… i was waiting for them what to do in such situation like that.. but until the plane arrived to bahrain i havent heard anything from them..will never ride Gulf air again very disappointing…
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
She asked if ur ok because if ur not maybe you need a tissue
The upper management is too cheap!
Gulfair is a third class carrier with little or no concern for passengers not now but since a long long time ago.
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
@@tfft can’t wait to read that!
I absolutely love how this video has been articulated. Like, even after this horrible experience, the little bits of humor that you add just elevate this whole video! Definitely going to look out for more videos!
Lots more to come! Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
My dad used to work for Gulf Air (as a flight engineer) during the golden era of Gulf Air. (I even knew who you were talking about when you mentioned Hogan.)
I wanted to take Gulf Air this last time I traveled, for old memory's sake, but decided not to after seeing the high price and negative reviews. :) As you made your 93-second history, I was able to say in my mind, 'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt' and it bought to mind a lot of good memories! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Bruh. The audacity of the dude to touch your property and turn off the recording. Smh.
I know right 😮
I don't know how it is now but Seoul Gimpo used to have repeated in-flight announcements on no filming for military reasons.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🙏
Cant believe Gulf Air was the Emirates of the late 90s Early 20s. It used to be so prestigious and so advanced that it developed the point to hub to point system
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
Just want you to know that this is priceless info for ppl. I take every bit of it to heart and have a strict list of companies that I will NOT USE EVER. Flying in any class is excruciatingly expensive and I refuse to be treated like a criminal or like I don't have the right to cleanliness. Again thanks for the suffering
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year 🍾
I'm genuinely shocked at this review. Three years ago I did LHR-BAH-BKK and back with Gulf Air in economy and was pleasantly surprised at how good the service was.
I too, was shocked 😅 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Just a grumpy person who wants to pull everything to pieces. You probably put those hairs there and brought the used headphones from a prevous flight. Disgraceful....
@@mindwalk2007 No, he is not a grumpy person! His report is very accurate.
I have seen all your videos and realised that I can finally rely on a person on RUclips who is not doing for fame, but for raw awareness to the views
I wish you All the best and would be happy to see with 1mil soon.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
The purser's behavior and disrespect are inexcusable AND should result in a formal complaint on your behalf!
It does we call them ticket hunters
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
@@tfft Thanks. I do not see the pinned comment though. I do not even know what a "pinned comment" is. Happy New Year to you too!!!
Pinned comment is the highest (literally at the top) comment on the video.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
It also depends on from which cster or caters the arikines usesx yo to get the he food supplies
Are u serious!?if anyone touched my stuff?but I guess I clearly understood why you didn’t film or record …What horrible flight crew!!!

I love that you didn't stop filming anyways. Nobody has the right to touch your smartphone or camera.

Came back last week from BKK to London via Bahrain. I was in economy and didn't have any issues, not with the crew and everything was clean. It was a better experience than many others with a big plus as the legroom is 32" which makes a huge difference for long flights.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I flew Business Class on Gulf Air from Karachi to London, via Bahrain. That was a few years ago; it was such a good airline then and the staff and crew were amazing. Sad to see it has declined.
Certainly was sad to see! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
my first Gulf Air flight, mid 70s, the 'Five star Tristar' service - tremendous.
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
I was very much appalled by the behavior of the purser!
Thanks very much and Happy New Year 🍾
Im taking that airline on my way back home from, and I normally like to video of the plane and now I'm scared if I will be allowed to record or take photos.
Good luck!
As an Indian and a biryani enthusiast, I take great offense in the fact that they are calling the rice and curry dish "biryani."
Haha 😅 Thanks for watching 🩴
I recently travelled with Gulf Air from Islamabad to London Heathrow, my stay in Bahrain was 16 hours they give me 5 star hotel stay, transit visa, travel and three times food ❣️❣️❣️
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
How did you get that stay? Did you ask for the hotel or they themselves gave it?
Man, i remember asking you for hotels/flights to the Middle East. Currently in Bahrain right now and I’m ashamed with how poorly Gulf Air treated you. Definitely going to avoid them whenever I can
Don’t worry, I don’t blame you 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I'm going to be in Bahrain sometime in January 2023. :D
Can check the pinned comment on this video for updates about the response from Gulf Air. Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
I can only say - I flew four sectors on GF in the last two weeks. BKK-BAH-FRA and return. My experiences were good. I had no problems what so ever. You can pick any airline in this world and if things go wrong you will find problems. I was very ok with them and treated well in J Class with my black status alongside. No complaints.
Thanks for your honest report!
Certainly every airline has their good and bad days. But all I can do is report what happens to me! Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
The Purser needs to be fired. Because of your video, I just canceled 2 business class tickets as I can’t believe how DIRTY business class was. Unacceptable.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Thanks for sharing ✈️
we flew Bangkok London via BAH in Feb this year , and have to say was wonderful in business class- what a shame . we loved it and had none of these issues ,

sorry to hear about your experience. I flew with them a few months ago, also business, and had a great experience myself. consistent service is hard to find these days. 😮
Inconsistency is one thing, that’s to be expected- but two of these crew were from a different planet all together 😅 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
never again, I had the worst experience with them. The staff literally was treating me like shit and even threatened me and challenging me to tell me he will make sure I will not get on the flight.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Details ?
So wht did u do actly?
I am surprised about how bad your experience was. We flew from Manila to Frankfurt with Gulf Air in BC in Oktober, and it was a very good experience. I definitely prefer them over Emirates on that route since the EK BC is super outdated on most of their 777. We will fly back to Manila in a few weeks, and I truly hope that the experience will be as good as in October
Good luck! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Impartial and honest review Kevin. I love watching these kind of reviews. I hope your onward Gulf flight wasnt that bad!
There’s a video :)
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🙏
thanx for sharing this review, I am never gonna take gulf air for sure....keep up the good work and keep publishing honest reviews ✌🤘....also, u should have published the flight number, date, and name of the crew publicly, it's important for them to learn a lesson
They know the flight, you can check the pinned comment. Thanks for watching 🩴
First of your reviews I have watched and you got me. Subscribed! Very thorough and you certainly showed evidence of your (in this case) gripes. Looking forward to more.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
So without the incident that occured, it is interesting to say that the over quality is subpar, or the fact tha this flight was a bad flight experience. I had the same thing happened to me in SQ flight from SYD > SG where the service ,food was extremely rushed.
Thanks for watching 🩴
Used to fly the same leg then continued from BAH to Rome. My experience was mixed but again it very depends on the crew so quality control in the airline is really the thing that is missing.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thank you
Appreciate that! Thanks for sharing ✈️
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
The plane in the video is the only plane that they fly to Bangkok 😉 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
What's that got to do with dirty blankets, dirty pillows and bad food.
We're looking at flights right now and Gulf came up with best prices for single stop flights. Remembering some friends recently used them I gave my pal a ring..."Don't even think of it, terrible experience. The staff treat you like an inconvenience."
Being treated like an inconvenience would have even a massive upgrade on this flight 😅 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
This is unexpected of Gulf Air, as you rightly said we look forward for Gulf Air to be good. I think there is a world of difference to the services offered to the flights to Europe than to Asia which is kind of similar of other carriers but not as much. I hope Gulf Air is consistent all across, an Airline with tremendous history we just expect more.
According to like 1000 comments on this video, it seems in fact it was very much expected haha. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I flew from Cyprus to Manila in Business on Gulf Air. It was fabulous. No complaints and no short comings. The best part was the price. Thank You
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
So glad that you made this video and shared your experience...Been flying gulfair since a while and sorry to mention its a whole lotta disaster 😕
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
This video was honest and Brutal
Btw what camera do you use? I love how clear crisp your videos are. especially how they are edited!! 🎉🎉🎉
iPhone 14PM and 13PM. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Wow, wasn’t expecting this. A written detailed complaint with picture evidence is required.
This video will have more impact than a letter ever would these days. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
What an experience … I will say, though, that the “storm’s brewing - and there are clouds outside” line was the best. Well done 😂 😂😂
Thanks for watching 🩴
Many thanks for sharing your experience. Some points you raised would have been difficult to do anything about e.g. purser and their attitude to onboard filming, but personally, I would made the crew aware of the dirty pillow, blanket and cutlery and requested replacements. I would also have been tempted to request the meal service be sped-up if, like you, I had planned to sleep.
I’d agree with you if it was one, two or a few issues. But at some point I think we just tipped the scales and there was not much that could have been done to redeem the flight, frustrating as it may be. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I’m sorry you didn’t experience the best out of Gulf Air.. but as we all know that not everyday is a perfect day, please don’t let this once experience define the whole Gulf Air experience. I hope you can fly again with Gulf Air and see the amazing and true experience and hospitality they can deliver to the customers. Keep up the good content!
Thanks for sharing ✈️
I really hope for your sake that Gulf Air sees this video and can escalate things to be addressed about the service atrocities you faced… simply inexcusable. They have unfortunately become extremely inconsistent with the service. I have flown with them on three different occasions and I have experienced everything from really amazing service to absolutely awful service on those 3 flights.
A strong leader (purser) is absolutely key to consistency. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
To call them atrocities is a huge overstatement
Just want to mention that Gulf Air has reached out to me and I've provided an update in the pinned comment on this video. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
@@tfft hey mate, there appears to be no pinned comment, Is this an issue on my end or did you delete it?
Not sure how, but it became unpinned… but is now pinned again.
Thank you for your honest and in depth review. I loved your occasional humorous responses. You’ve done the travelling public a huge service.. I’ve not seen such an appalling business class.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Gulf air lost there image since they dropped the inflight chief at business class, the food choices, timing and presentation is completely wrong
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I really enjoy your style of narration and video structure. My new favourite travel channel. Keep it up mate!
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I fly Gulf Air all the time and never had a bad experience.. you must have been very unlucky i think. Anyway.. Keep traveling, and keep sharing. All the best
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
10:30 Surely this happens to plugs, but seeing this bend simply lying on the floor gives me a real uneasy feeling.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I don’t often submit complaints because I find form letters as responses insulting and only help to increase my anger or dissatisfaction so really, my only recourse is to not give them my money. Either way I don’t think they’d care. In course i’d give it a shot.
I also don’t think letters and the like do much of anything these days- so I consider this video to be my open ‘letter’ 😅 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🙏
My very 1st comment on your channel even though I have watched many videos especially your excellent hotel reviews. I'm absolutely shocked and flabbergasted at the poor quality of the Gulf Air product overall. If it's this bad in business class how bad is it in economy class?? 😱
Thanks for another brilliant upload
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I cannot get over that Arabic coffee cup! I would have refused to eat anything after that. Getting sick on board, 35.000 feet above is the last thing I need. Thank you for your review and wishing you Happy Holidays!
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I am really sorry about the experience you had. This will be a concern for those who want to try this airline. Anyway, thank you for your review, and Merry Christmas! From the fan from Thailand🎄
Still worth a try if you're up for a bit of an adventure :) Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
I would have given a 20/100. The 20 points that i gave were for the russian stewardess and the chicken "biryani" LOOKED good.
Oh the Biryani was horrible. The rice was good and had the flavor of “yellow”… the rest was near inedible.
@The Flip Flop Traveller i know, i know😞
Sorry for your experience and love your honest reviews as always.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I have strong suspicions that the purser knew that the catering on the flight was a disaster and wanted to do everything possible to avoid it being filmed for review. Its also quite possible that he is aware of action being taken against crew in the past for bad reviews.
Of course none of this excuses in anyway the way he treated you.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Also good man, love your flight reviews, some of the most polished ones out there. If your ever flying international in and out of Melbourne, Australia be sure to include some ramp footage, I might get to feature in the review 🤣
Excellent review as always! I’ve never flown Gulf Air and after watching this video I never will! Cheers Kev
Might be a wise decision ;) Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Your experience is an impact of a management personals change who have no class/level/hospitality background and a result of an experienced crew unfair lay offs during covid. James Hogen put GF on a map of one of the best airlines during his service. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I must restate my position on middle east airlines. Not going to use them.
To be even more honest, El Al is excellent like Lufthansa is excellent. On a technical basis but soft product...yikes. I had the most unpleasant purser (LAX-TLV) who accused me of not properly paying for the upgrade from economy to business. She forced me into premium economy which made no sense as I would have thought she'd demand me go back to my originally planned seat. These power trip pursers ruin the airline reputation faster than a speeding TGV. I feel for you young man.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Just found this channel earlier and already loving your high quality cinematography and your witty commenting style. Looking forward to more videos from you! sending love and support ❤❤
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Would it be fair to say that while Saudia improved the most in the past 2-3 years, Gulf air declined the most? Btw yet another great video.
This was my first flight with Gulf Air, so I have no idea what they were like 2-3 years ago. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Annoying interactions like the one you had with this rude Gulf Air purser are why I am hesitant to film in airplanes/airports/in public areas in general. Especially in a foreign country whose laws I am not the most familiar with. Even as someone who is not going to film anything, the dirty utensils and pillow/blanket are absolutely unacceptable. Looks like I'll be avoiding Gulf Air... Great review though, as usual.
Luckily everyone these days is filming something lol- so I generally blend in when I'm handheld. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I had a similar situation recently. Flight attendant stopped me when she saw me videoing the outside of the plane. He did come over afterwards and politely explained to me the reason why it’s not allowed. He initially said it’s the law and also for privacy. He was very apologetic. He Handled it well.
Yes, handled it well considering she made up the policy on the spot 😂
You should be a soap-opera script-writer, Kevin, because you sure know how to get someone tuning-in for the next episode.
Nice to see 20K imminent.
P.S. Hate to nitpick but bee-oh-ay-cee.
But ‘Bo-ack’ has such a nice ring to it 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Can’t believe I haven’t found you sooner😂. Great video I hope you continue creating content into the new year for me to enjoy 👍
Some things are worth waiting for 😉 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I am from bahrain and i always prefer to fly with gulf air .. it is a shame that you had this experience which i found it weird to be honest. I flew hundred times and many of them are on business class and i didnt find such things. Maybe you were unlucky with this flight but in general i do believe it is a decent airline. They are not emirates of course but they still have a good potential.
On behalf of bahrainis i would like to apologize for any inconvineince you had and hopefully gulf air can make it up for you with another good flight as they usually do.
No need for your to apologize but I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thank you.🙏👍
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I think the new Belin airport also has those check in and security waiting time boards
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I flew Gulf Air years ago. Despite the warnings of on the spot fines, passengers were constantly smoking in the toilets. You could smell it throughout the plane and because it was so common flight attendants could do little about it. Will never fly with them again.
Thanks for watching & Happy New Year 🎉
Youre a very good reviewer. You notice small things, like damage and wear and tear.
I reckon all reviewers notice it… it’s just a matter of which ones mention it 😅
@The Flip Flop Traveller i just say this because, back when i would fly business class/ stay in nice hotels, i wouldnt look out for stuff like you do.
