I flew Etihad in Business Class few months ago and they have lots of big approvement than 4 years ago. Looks like Etihad is moving forward.

@@outdoorsummiteer399 I’m not an employee. Emirates and Qatar are both better. The last time I flew Etihad they were great.
I flew this same route back in September and I was extremely impressed with their business class product. The only downside was the 2:00am departure time.
Agree about the timing… but half the time I barely know where I am let alone what time it is, so it matters a bit less to me haha.

They’ve really cut back on the Aqua Di Parma amenity kit. It was thee best thing about Eithad before and I always felt they beat their competitors in the gulf in that regard. Now it’s just a mare sample, before you have full sizes.

Thanks for a great review Kevin ...... I flew Geneva manila in June 2023 with them and their seats are ,as you say, a major minus. Seat 7H on a 787-9 from Abu Dhabi to Manila was without air in the seat back cushion and boy did I have rough ride.. its like a tile floor to lie on when no air is in these seatbacks... I really hope they will find a better cushioning solution next upgrade.. and next time I go with them I look forward to their new terminal facilities l... The business lounge overcrowding in terminal 3 was no fun last time...

The biggest bad investment from Etihad was one they made in Jet Airways. I'm glad Etihad quickly made a course correction, did what made business sense and are coming back strongly. They showed great business acumen.

Very interesting review. I am glad Etihad is improving but I think the Armani Casa tray looks like if you are in a canteen. I don’t mean the food , just the tray and china that don’t seem to be what you would expect in Business Class.

Bit weird that you used a daytime thumbnail (just my kind of obsession) but excellent video as always, I think this was your best overall airplane seat tour yet! But how could you pass on Lamb Biryani? 😅 We now try different airlines each year to get to Europe from Thailand and I wanted to try Etihad and see the new AUH terminal, but because we can't compromise a 2 layover trip I don't think it will happen cause I'm not flying onwards on Wizz Air for 6 hours just for that. I've had a not so fun 3 hour delay at FCO and then 2 hour baggage claim wait at 2am with them before. Hope you enjoy the holidays relaxed with family. I assume FLIPFLOPMAS last time was a bit stressful. Merry Christmas🎄

I was station at ubon Thailand in 1969-1970. And I had to go through BKK Airport. Back than the airport bldg wasn't has big as a 380 . You couldn't park one inside.

Wonderful video as always - I am currently in Thailand and flew Etihad business from Oslo via Ams + AUH to BKK.
You mentioned things are changing, well one thing is the new lounge Etihad uses in Bangkok. They now use the Coral Lounge rather than the miracle.
There was some drama on my flights here with the majority of transiting passengers from Amsterdam to Bangkok being offloaded in Abu Dhabi's beautiful new terminal and delayed due to an aircraft 'downgrade'. My new BP was not there, the App informed me the operating aircraft was now a 787-10 (I originally booked in September and it was a 787-9, then it changed to 787-10, and then in November it became a 777-300). So this aircraft 'downgrade' the staff were telling all the passengers about, was in fact a number of seats downgrade and an aircraft upgrade. They soon discovered to their astonishment that I was not offloaded and let me carry on through transit security and catch the flight, while the other passengers had 12 hours more to wait to get on the next flight to Bangkok. To be fair, no passenger really kicked up a fuss and seemed to just accept their fate (I think everyone expected some kind of Christmas travel disrruption anyway given the Munich and Lufthansa meltdown and numerous KLM meltdowns in November and early December.

Hi Kevin. I am probably being dumb, but I don't fully understand what you mean by "shallow" in relation to the seat.
I'm referring to the depth of the seat cushion. When sitting, the (cushion) measurement from the inside of your knee to the seat back.

Glad the crew were nice. I flew AUH to BRU on their 787-9 and the crew were indifferent - not sure if it was because it was a nice flight or that I'd just done Etihad First which was delightful. The food was amazing though.

Very interesting review since Etihad business class has never been on my radar. Based on this hardware product, I would still prefer the Qsuite. It just looks and feels more private and luxurious. Even though I realise how hit or miss their service can be nowadays. However, I will be very interested when the new business class cabin will be introduced! A very interesting point you made about the influence of the purser on the performance of the cabin crew. By actively being in the cabin and participating in the service, creates an immense amount of goodwill and motivates the crew to perform at their highest level. At least it always helped me, keeping the crew in good spirits and working as a team.Thank you and look forward to your experience in first class on Etihad!
(As you know surely haha) it makes all of the difference in the world. I suppose I've had some decent flights where the purser wasn't so present and active, but I've NEVER had a bad flight when the Purser was on point! Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏼
I am going to start flying on Etihad business class later this year ('24). Now that Etihad has added my city to their departure/arrival option. I will be traveling on Qatar business class (Qsuite) in a couple of weeks. 😋

I flew Etihad 787-9 and 787-10 in business last summer. It is a random question, but why do the -10 have shoulder seatbelts, whereas the -9 don't?
It's not specific to the -9 or -10, the (very slightly) updated version of the seat as shoulder belts, where as the older version has airbag lap belts. Both serve the same purpose, but I'm guessing they got complaints about the airbag comfort.

There are so many small details about the flight, I wonder how do you remember them with 3-6 months delay🙄🤔. In Amarvilas video you mentioned you normally don't take notes. Maybe you brainstorm before writing the script haha😂, I maybe wrong.

I had a pretty bad experience on that exact route with etihad on the beginning of the year. The crew were nowhere to be seen. They dont respond to the cabin crew button the entire flight. The gave us One bottle of water the entire flight. The only time they show up was for the meals. Service was pretty bad

Flown all three major middle eastern airlines recently in business I can confirm the service and food is a step up on etihad compared to the other overrated higher priced competitors. While the seat is a step down to the others except emirates 777 which is garbage. It by far the better option all considering in my opinion

Hey Kevin, I have been watching your reviews for a while, and I really enjoyed this one! Etihad is my favorite airline, and I am glad that they met the Flip Flop standard of excellence :). Out of curiosity - why do you call Bangkok's airport Suvarnabhum and not Suvarnabhumi?

Funny that I've only ever seen the AdP products in the First Class bathrooms. Have never seen a decent product in any Etihad Business Class bathroom. I suppose there were lots of thiefs on my flights lol. Thanks for watching 🩴
I like your anonymous review format. The guys who make themselves the start of the show (Sam Chui, Josh Cahill, Noel Phillips etc) do themselves and the product a disservice.
While Qatar Airways were wrong in banning Josh after his accurate & fair review, it would never have happened had his review been anonymous.

New to the channel and looking at your Christmas flight schedule, unless you are posting a backlog of material are you constantly flying? Great detail in the video at 6'4" would I have a problem with this business class seat design?
Welcome to the channel! I'm on the road 6 months a year, the other 6 months for editing. My videos generally come out 3-6 months after filming, for a variety of reasons. If you take a look at my Community tab on the channel, you'll see everything coming up. The community feed is always much closer to 'real time' but never exact so the hotels don't catch me 😅

My experience of business class from auh to Lhr was bad, the crew asked me if I was going to eat food? No etiquettes, who asks the guest if they weregoing to have food?
Seriously? It’s very common question that I’m asked all the time on many airlines.
I disagree , the question should be what would you like to eat? Theres’s a difference! Why am I paying for business class if I’m not going to be served any food? Just because the crew is lazy!!

I just wrapped up a 3 night stay at Capella Bangkok, and I have to say the service changed since your video (I would go back if I were you and restore it!) They memorized my name, dietry restrictions, etc. The only downside was the weird weird weird design you pointed out where I could see into the jacuzzi area of another suite...and there were some intimate moments @@tfft
not impressed about the thickness of the seats, akso their softness probably, on long flight, this the main fact that we can love.

Absolutely rubbish airline since James Hogan was fired. As a previous Gold tier flyer who used to fly first and business exclusively with Etihad (for my entire 6-7 person family so spending approx 30-50k USD on a trip from Asia to Europe) I will never fly with them again after the way i was treated.
Many would agree Etihad might not still be around had it not been for getting rid of Hogan lol. The past five years were basically just cleaning up his mess and returning to profitability... a wise choice I'd say haha.
Last December I had a flight eith them. Worse airline I ever traveled on. Also the crew seems not to want to be there at all. They look like municipality employees. Literally. Avoid.
