Great video! I'm so sick of the standard negative comments about nowhere to park it, there are plenty of ways if you have the will. My main piece of advice about buying raw land...ignore what the listing ad says about the zoning. 90% chance the listing is wrong! The lot I bought, the Realtor hadn't even seen it, she just took a random photo of trees off of the main road! Call the county assessor's office and give them the tax map id#, they will be happy to tell you the zoning and in layman's terms exactly what you can do with the property and steps to build etc. It can vary even with the same zoning code depending on exactly where it is located.
It takes a few minutes and in my land search probably called 4 different county assessor's offices and they were all very nice and helpful!

I'm glad you covered some of the full-time parking. I'm 56 and hope to get started in 3 to 4 years..I'm not interested in moving my home around a lot but will travel by car/plane once retired..
If I get one person requesting a tiny home parking space on my double lot in Anoka, Minnesota. I'd make it happen in a week.

I LOVED this video. It makes my dream of buying land and building a tiny house for my daughter more real. I’m blessed to fall into the category of looking for my own land (or a tiny home community would work.) I just love tiny houses and believe they are such a wise investment for young people. Owning your own place instead of paying rent is a no brainer to me.

Another way to buy land cheap is through tax lien sales. You can't do anything with the property for one year but after that it's yours.

My RV renovation sits in the backyard next to the garden. Once I’m finished working on it, the plan is to manifest a beautiful new property to plant my tiny homestead on. 😊

We have a beautiful 10 acres we bought in the Ozark mountains up on a high ridge and we just started gardens and since we are retired we are looking for a tiny home dweller who might be looking for long term parking at a monthly rate’we have electric and water and beautiful trees. There is no zoning problems but there are high winds and several below freezing months so you must tie the tinyhome down here. We are not sure how to advertise for this site

@@msvideotime I forget what this is about, but parking for tiny houses is the biggest hurdle and the only hurdle. If you can't find a place to legally park, like here at Tiny Estates, or advertised in the video, there's no point in building one.

Code enforcement was called on my RV which crushed my dream before I got started. Where I live in Florida for It can be in the backyardck yard but I couldn't access the yard with the size rv I purchased.

I am wanting to leave my living situation and build a tiny home, but the biggest issue living in Illinois is where to park it. I have considered moving to Michigan which does have some areas that allow tiny homes. But this would put my about five hours away from my kids and grandbabies. I so much appreciate the information you shared here!!! It has given me some ideas for how this may work for my situation.

We are very close to purchasing a tiny home, but the land/parking aspect has been incredibly stressful. If you park in someone’s yard where it’s not permitted, what happens if you get caught? What do you put your address down as? This is kinda overwhelming for us…

When looking for rural property look for places that already have the infrastructure. Sometimes I run across listings. Say, the owners were preparing to build & already had the well drilled, the septic, electricity.

Great info! All the details are so helpful. It seems your next step is to o$fer your service and amazing in depth knowledge on getting going with a tiny, from the very beginning to hanging curtains on the finished home. It seems someone in the tiny community did something like this but it was for the build, not all the "how tos" of each step. To have "handrails " for the duration of each huge step would be such a comfort. Learning of options available at every turn would be great, from such experienced people as you both are in this arena of life.

I'm surprised u didn't mention "Tiny House Listings". Lists everything 4 Sale from Buses, Tiny Houses, RVs, u name it! It also now lists Land 4 Sale and Tiny House Parking for rent. He also makes occasional content for videos that are instructional in nature or showcase a particular Home 4 Sale. He may be competition for your channel, but it's also a helpful resource u can provide people. I sub to both your channels and don't think they're that similar in nature personally. Besides, I think there's room for everyone in this limited access/info arena! 😊

In your craigslist ad, you say that you need water and electricity but... what do you do with your drain water? And sewage? Do you have a composting toilet?

Out East there are not too may options...mostly out west in U.S. and Canada....so frustrating.....I would love to build a big-tiny. But a parking spot is the defining problem....

That search site did not work. For location I was able to select United States, but the city choices did not include CA, and when I went to select a state, CHINA would come up and only China! - any other info on finding a tiny house community in which to live?

I was thinking to buy a lot with a run down manufactured home and pay to have it moved away before moving the tiny house in.
Looking for community I can only rent, live on low SS, not down south, Colorado maybe, I'm in Minnesota with grandkids so not too far, I could fly for a few hundred to get home, I need nature for away and could do without snow, fifty all winter would be like spring to me, sick of fifty below wind-chill. Just want to try, only need small space, she shed, my back is bad, losing mobility, but lots of love and life left. I'm a terrific grandmother, gardener, green thumb, 420 friendly,cbd, Cook, need to keep moving but it hurts, so need nature, solitude, for my healing, my Chihuahua, and brown fatcat are my loves. Making biohazard out of ur grounds water is insane and criminal...burn it ( the military does) and turn it into two good things, "fuel and fertilizer"...😁

I think it's b.s. about code enforcement when someone OWNS their property and pays property taxes! As long as you're not building a night club or crackhouse, I don't understand the need to control people SO much in this way.. Rant done....

Can't you just park it like a camper isn't it the same as a camper essentially like I could park it in a parking lot I can park it in my friend's house my grandma's house my my mom's house basically you can park it anywhere you can park a car you just need somebody to let you stay wherever you want to stay I would never be paying no $800 a month for some f****** lot rent that's crazy but I've also heard people paying $70 a month which is way reasonable I guess it just depends on where you live
