    now put the cup 2 in that yaris and see what that 2 seconds difference become :) after 5-6 laps at a longer track, typical use in track days, the yaris will probably be ahead

    • @hayashishark7378
      @hayashishark7378 Год назад +2

      It would, one thing that is misleading when raving on about very heavy fast cars, like the M4, is that barely anyone talks what that does on the components. It's capable as long as the tires and brakes are fresh, but they stay that way not for long. Very normal example of the Nordschleife, where people actually come to use these things. If you drive fast, M3/M4 stock tires and brakes are done after only a couple of laps. Yes, 2 laps and your brakes are gone. Something light, as GR Yaris, can go at least 15.

      @massimilianozeni1848 Год назад

      @@IR-xy3ij I don t know how long the item you mentioned could last but usually Toyota are extremely well designed and built to last even under stress. Let s say I m sure you can add in that cost and still having it much cheaper than that BMW:) only in tires it would cost you a fortune for every track day. Personally I have an S2000 so I d agree that simple and light is the best option for track days

    • @IR-xy3ij
      @IR-xy3ij Год назад

      @@massimilianozeni1848 S2000 is a much better track car than gr yaris. In a lot of ways gr yaris sucks for track use, from the high center of gravity to the extremely short wheelbase and narrow track width and fenders. I think the car itself is heavily overrated, because it's neither fast on a straight line nor in the corners, and on top of that it has overheating problems. I wouldn't be surprised if even a stock camaro can corner faster than it, while being much faster everywhere else with better cooling and cost about the same amount.

    The fact the price of the M3/4 has gone up by 60% in a little over 10 years is frightening. It pretty much industry wide up at this high performance category too. C6 RS6 was £80k all in in 2008 and now it's almost £120k.

    • @oppos727
      @oppos727 3 года назад +7

      The F80 M3’s base MSRP was $62,925 in 2013. That’s $73,558 in today’s money.
      The E90 M3’s base MSRP was $56,275 in 2008. That’s $71,768 in today’s money.
      The G80 M3’s base price is $69,900. Bear in mind that all of these prices don’t factor in the cost of an automated transmission to level the playing field.
      Global inflation is the scary thing to note here. Manufacturers are providing-on paper at least-more for less nowadays, especially when you factor in standard convenience and safety features on top of their objective performance and crash capabilities. Granted, they’re more bloated, arguably too refined for enthusiasts, and less “pure” as a result, but the overall offering for the stand-alone dollar hasn’t diminished.
      I think the optimistic way to look at things is to soak in all of the sub-Halo performance car offerings that we can purchase now. If you’re not looking to beat down a car on a track and just want something that you can throw around aggressively on a back road, we’ve got more and better choices for our money than ever before.

    • @its_EZ
      @its_EZ 3 года назад

    • @creatineenjoyer7345

      @@its_EZ yep, the inflation over that period was around 30% which is less than the 60% increase in price, however, the new m4 is miles better than the e92 m3 so its kinda fair i guess. Also today you can get a cheaper car that will beat the e92 m3 on track like a gr yaris

      More power, more dynamism = more cost to develop.

      The job of a coupe is to look good & drive well, this fails completely on the looks department.
      The Yaris is a homologation special, it's job is to be fast, looks are secondary.

Get an amg merc e63, M4, Gtr, all second hand but are far more pleasing to own , appreciate and look at.
