he can do 300 i bet. Also depends how long you have to do the roll. I can do 16th notes at 260 at least with my feet (let alone hands) but only for a few seconds LOL I can barely play a whole song at 200 . I bet this guy can do 240 all day. Hands or feet. I think Heretic Anthem is only 220. Try to work up to playing that at least. I'm still working on it.
Did you know that Ringo Starr cannot play doubles and he has made more of an impact on the drumming world than you ever have..and has more platinum and gold records than you will ever have..A -' hole
@@MisterK-YT that would be a marching percussion award. Basically. Where rudiments are the basis and key to everything. Which all of the great players play great from a rudimental standpoint and that is what separates them as icons.
@@MisterK-YTnot close. That man is speaking of a marching percussion based award. Where rudiments are the basis to everything. Which they are anyway because that is what separates the ICONS of drumming from everyone else.
He uses wrists when slow but then goes into fingers and open/close tecnique when going fast. If you just try to play it the same when going fast, you're going to crash
He never really goes into hand or foot technique on these exercise videos, which sort of misses the point. I can brute out 16th note paradiddles at 220-240 with wrists only but anything beyond that is a physical brick wall for me. At that point (for me) another technique is required - regardless of the amount of practice there is physics based barrier to progression.
I know people say this all this all the time, but man, El Estapraio is so unbelievably good at drums, its almost intimidating watching him do even the most basic things. Doing this exercise at 100 BPM is super tricky for me, but watching him do 240 effortlessly, my jaw just dropped. Absolutely incredible.
Let's all take a moment to appreciate the Internet for being a thing, so we can discover amazing talent and personality like El Estepario, we might otherwise have not.
+ Don't forget to use rebound for doubles cause no matter how hard or long you try, only wrists like he demonstrates slowly here will give you no results for high speed.
@@MisterK-YT I think they just mean when doing the double strokes you need to use the rebound or bounce of the stick off the drum head from the first stroke of the double. Instead of trying to force or "pull" the stick up you let the drum do the work for you. That way you are just pushing the stick down twice and letting the drum do the 'upstroke' in between. Using the rebound is key for doing most anything with speed on the drums/cymbals.
Holy crap dude! You are definitely The Groovefather that's for sure. Thank you for that lesson, it immediately helped me! It also led me to your video on putting Clave beats with your HiHats into Blast Beat patterns. Wow. Between those two, I'll be busy for a while. Thank you!
@johan0795 something that helped me was to work on rudiments with a left hand and right foot, or left foot and right hand. Then left hand and foot or right hand and foot. Basically, make your brain cross train. any sticking of a pattern on any limb. Keep quarter notes on any other limb. :)

100 bpm: I got this,

240x4=960 strokes per min
His double strokes at 240 are impressive 😅
😂😭

El Estepario has invited Drumeo in his show. 😂
Its all about $$$

Your determination is LEGENDARY
What's a rudimental drummer? Like, the dudes who drum on buckets on the street?
There is no point on making this award

i don't really see the open close technique

Fingerings technique for make a Speed..I agree with that 👍👍
@@nickrails actually I never paid attention to that, that comes naturally with speed

It's a real pleasure to see Estepario blow up to this extent!
Favorite drummer
Drumeo you should bring him and challenge to learn a song. (Metal, funk and latin) :)
El Estepario should bring Drumeo and challenge them to a song he can't play.
That jump from 100 to 240 slaps you in the face :D
This production value. pogchamp
excelente ejercicio, lo aprendi hace años con el dvd de tommy igoe Great Hands for a Lifetime!
wow this is the first vid of him I have seen where he doesn't spark up, I'm impressed.
Dude isn't human 🤯

Adding a weight like that will help too. It tightens the head and makes for better rebound.

Can you explain that again (I'm not a drummer, but I'm curious to understand what you meant)

nah play through the head, faster cleaner singles means cleaner doubles. yeah some rebound is need d but really it should be like the third focus
That escalation reminded of the 'Let's draw an owl together' meme.
We start with drawing two circles then we draw the rest of the fucking owl.
"now those were the 3 basics"
I could keep up with the 2 (I'm not a drummer i play guitar) but that last one the MACHINE GUN is wild
I've been putting weights on my snare recently as well and I love the sound it gives it and the feel you get from the sticks when you hit is🤌🏻🤌🏻
More rebound?
Fucking amazing drummer

I second that
"Tinder".. Genius!

Anyone else close their eyes and couldn't tell when he switched? 🎉

I've always wanted a drum kit as a guitarist, maybe someday......🤔
Beast!
Master of Groove!
Groovefather!
Sensacional 👏👏👏
😮 incredible
Drumeo.... PLEASE get Dave Abbruzzese on this show!!!!
Damn the edits are clean
240x4=960 strokes per min 😮
Slowing down that snare in the beginning of the video made it sound like a war zone.
Genio Estepario
Hi awesome lesson! I think that maybe he practices with" the book of movements vol 1" Double Binary motor System
EL is Amazing!!✌️🇺🇲
El Estepario, how do you practice to keep your sticks from moving up? I have to keep adjusting my sticks.
Hold tighter btw thumb and 1st finger
Can we please get 240 on a floor tom? 🤯🤯🤯
Practice that exercise if you want that biceps 💪
for idk reason, i find i'm faster with doubles, and paradiddles, than my single stroke rolls. been that way for quite a few years
Would really like to this guy drum any of Flo's song with cryotopsy note for note ,,, if he dares ....
Surely you guys have a drummer (who's never heard) listen to "Tomorrow Never Knows" by The Beatles. Would be very intresting to see how its intepreted
This guy is as sick if not sicker than sleep token ll
sick video,
can you do something reggae related in any of the video types you do
Now do the same exercise with the feet, then use hands and feet, alternating.
One of the most hard things to me has been alternating singles and dobles between the hands and the feet 😢

Finally 🙏
I'm not a drummer. I love drums but I'm more sound than pound inclined but is left and right supposed to sound the same? Cause it doesn't.
You need to get Jimmy Chamberlin on here! 😄
2:58 “okay so those were the basic demonstrations of this exercise”
What drum pad is that?
Good stuff💪🏻💪🏻⭐️
Don't phunk with my heart BEP for Chad Smith.
Learned this exercise from tommy igoe
GOATED!!!!!
If you keep dreaming, and saving, you’ll soon have enough money to finish your wall 😊
Him very good! But nose ring must go!
Dude you skipped the most important part... how the technik should be like after 190 bpm?
Cool but id rather hear from austin archy when it comes to speed.
Didn’t know Oscar Isaac was so good at the drums.
*rapid fires
“Those were the basics”
Ahhhh! He has four arms he’s an alien 4:50
2:58 Machine
Can’t do with the background music at a different BPM than his first demonstration lol
2:57 *Died shot with the Machine gun*
Hey video editor, at 2:58 you recorded on fast forward 😂
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Basic demonstration, sure.
THE TINDEEER! JAJAJAJAJAJAAAA!
Jajaja ya hasta el dice 'el estepariou' jajajaja
build your arm muscle first
no quiet in my tempo 😅
Throw in a paradiddle too
It was Joe Morello, who offered to add a bar of paradidles to this "Tinder" exercise. You can see it at drummerworld

that's not fast enough, I speed it up again by touching and holding the phone screen 2x >>
Mike Mangini can do all that with just one hand.
Pretty pretty please have a drummer listen to/play Hand of Doom by Black Sabbath for the first time.
Sure bro, they are just going to throw a shitty ass seven minute song out there because someone on RUclips asked.
