      Only people riding standard-ish Harleys will find this sort of thing useful. I put the XIEDs on my 2010 Streetbob and whilst the effect was positive I wouldn't say that it added any real power gains. To get a real performance Harley then the AFR is gonna be around 12.5 to 13 : 1, all the weaker AFR's will not make a lot of difference.Loud pipes go hand-in-hand with these AFRs and two-into-one exhausts just stifle the engine above 4500rpm.
      Unfortunately to get real power gains involves a lot of parts and engine modifications and money to do this. I stopped counting right away because even if I hadn't had a fair bit of cash to spend, I think I would have questioned the financial costs in comparison to the potential power gains.
      If you want more power AND insist on keeping it Harley then it'll cost so it is a good idea to buy a low milage used bike (CVO engined twin cams are better to 'hot-rod' as the engine has much better heads for a start) and remove all the chrome doo-dads to sell, save a good bit extra and then rebuild the engine with more capacity, compression, port the heads ,add a cam, get the crank welded etc etc and you can get a bike with 50+% gains.... my Streetbob now has over 130 bhp and torque (with a carb as I junked the EFI) and is an absolute blast to ride though it did eat the tranny main bearing!
      Remember though that the standard suspension, tyres and brakes need upgrading as well.

    Just added these on my 2010 Roadglide. I’ve had this bike going on 30k+ miles. Along with these, I’ve done the external breather, converted to factory dual header, drilled CVO mufflers, modified Air box. This was absolutely the best mod I’ve made to the rideability of my bike. Smoother, more torque through out power band, cooler & better throttle response. Set mine at 50% for now. Exceedingly happy. I am not planning cam changes or head work, so this was the answer for my bike.

      If you install the XiED it richens the Air Fuel Ratio from 14.6:1 to 13.8:1 in closed loop mode.
      If you install the ViED it richens the Air Fuel Ratio from14.6:1 to a range of 14.3-13.9:1 in closed loop mode. The V is for Variable because you can change the ratio. This Variable Fuel management upgrade allows you to fine-tune the air fuel mixture with a small screwdriver.

      It is not necessary for them to be set equally. If your bike is running warm and/or you ride in hot temps, it is not a bad idea to have the rear cylinder a little richer (more toward the 100% setting) than the front. • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  3 года назад +1

      The way the XIED and VIED work is to add xyz % of fuel to the existing map. Harley has a good tune in there....it is just too lean across the board (because of the EPA). So these add to the existing tune, making it not too lean. This all happens in closed loop. It also sends the corrections to the LTFT tables to adjust open loop.
      When you have higher throttle and load, the tune will go much richer (down into the 11's & 12's) as it should.
      There is another video coming out in the next couple of weeks where we talk about Closed and Open Loop and some of the details of how all that works.

I still get some decel pop even though I have it enriched a little more with V&H tweaking the map, they also have a feature on their device that is represented by a firecracker that enriches it some that is also flashed on the bike. Do you think this device would work with this flashed map in order to dial in the fuel mixture a little better or should I flash back to a stock setup, take the FP3 completely out of the equation and see how this device works on the problem? thx

    • @DKCustomProducts

      The VIED will work with the FP3 and richen it up even more.

      I don't know. We've never done that. We've never had an alarm run down the battery. If a bike is going to sit longer than 1 week it is plugged into a battery tender. You may have something else going on with your battery and parasitic drain.
      If it is sitting for more than a week or so without running (by running I mean at least a half hour of riding between starts) then a tender is a good idea, regardless of whether it has an alarm system.

    Hey Guys... would this replace my V&H FuelPak?? I have stock bike with open air kit and Rinehart true duals on 2006 FI Road King. What difference would VIED make vs FuelPak? Is this plug N play like the fuelPak?? Thanks, Charlie

    Great videos and product line. I want to give you my support. What do you have for a 2017 FatBoy S with the SE 110ci. It has the stock Screaming Eagle Ventilator Air Intake and Vance & Hines Twin Slash 3-inch Slip-Ons.
    I plan on upgrading to a 117ci, full exhaust, and cams next year, so I will need a $500 tuner and dyno then, but right now, I just want to make the bike run right.
    It is running lean as hell and popping on decel.
    Thank you.

      @@DKCustomProducts I ordered the FL-VIED kit. I didn’t order the breather kit, because my bike has a back plate that I never seen before. Instead of venting through the screws into the intake, the plate has small holes through the plate that feed from the mounting stand offs from behind the plate. I never seen that before.
      I guess I could just replace the screws with standard venting screws, and then modify the plate to install the breather filter. But at that point I’ll just install a new high flow air cleaner.
      Thanks again. Can’t wait to install my FL-VIED and have my 110 running right.

    I bought a used 2016 FLTRU. I just bought A power vision. I have factory 02 sensors. Vance & Hines power duals With twin slash cut Mufflers. The pipes do not have 18mm bungs. I believe it has a stock Cam. And a screaming Eagle air cleaner With breather bypass. Would This product will be Advantageous And/or compatible?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  3 года назад

      The Power Vision uses the narrow band sensors that are 12mm. You would only need the 18mm if you were to add the Target Tune module, because it uses wide band sensors.
      Your power duals should have the 12mm bungs for the narrow band sensors, so you are good to go.

      @@DKCustomProducts It seems from what I read that even with the power vision, The narrow band sensors can't Enrich the fuel Enough accurately. I thought maybe Your Product Might get my fuel mixture into the 13's

    • @DKCustomProducts

      @@fredflint1797 You can see some details on the Power Vision at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/dynojet-power-vision-flash-tuner-w-auto-tune-dk-pv-cmp-pkg.htm
      With this Power Vision you can get your AFR to where ever you want. 13's in closed loop is not a problem at all.
      Now, if you are having a Dealership tune with the Power Vision, many of them will not tune it outside of the EPA mandates...but that is not a function of the Power Vision, but of the person using the Power Vision. The PV has no restrictions built into it.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  3 года назад

      @@fredflint1797 In closed loop, where the narrow band sensors are used, that is a low load, low throttle area of the tune. Getting the AFR down too low is not preferable...doable, yes, beneficial? I can't think of how. When you go into open loop the table in the PV tune take over (there is no o2 sensor feedback in open loop) and you can set those wherever you want. Also, those tables are affected by the Long Term Fuel Trim (or as HD calls it "adaptive learning")
      If you want complete control, and I have this on my Sporty and it is amazing, use the Power Vision with the Target Tune. You can see it at the link below. Part of the Target Tune are wide band sensors, so you will need the 18mm bungs. The TT lets you set the AFR wherever you want in open and closed loop and it constantly adjusts to stay "on target".
      When I installed this my power GREATLY increased AND my MPG did also.

    Hey there so I have a question for you guys. I have a 2015 ultra limited with python slip ons. I like a loud bike so I’m thinking Of taking the baffles and packing right out of my slip ons. Would it be ok to run no baffles if I install the xied on my bike. I still have stock air breather to. So if I open that up and had no baffles would I then have a problem?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад

      You will be fine tune wise with the FL-ViED's or FL-XiED's tune wise.
      Removing the baffles will create a bit of a dip in your low and mid range torque, but that is easily fixed by installing the Thunder Torque Inserts™. You will still be loud, and just a bit deeper tone. You will have more power than you have now.
