Dawn guys me from down under again first little ride today xied on 08 rocker c wow easy install no fault codes and instantly noticed smooth throttle at lower revs and just more torque well feels that way couldn't be happier
I have a 2013 103 inch FLHP. I installed Screaming Eagle Street Cannons and rode it that way for a year. It had sluggish throttle response so I decided to buy the FL VIED. Once installed and after a few hours of riding in variable conditions it made a noticeable difference. A few weeks later I then installed an Arlen Ness Big Sucker Intake and adjusted the VIED to accommodate the increased airflow. Another noticeable improvement. The bike has better throttle response, runs cooler and even sounds better. You cannot beat the price, simplicity and benefits from the VIED.
Got my new 587 air cleaner, my breather bolts, and my vied’s installed on my 2o2o iron 883 and been running them for about 100 miles so far and WOW! What a difference! It’s like a different bike! No kidding. I didn’t notice a lot at first but the more I rode the bike the more everything started coming to life. Now it’s very noticeable! I set my adjustment on 50% and haven’t touched it since. I saved enough $$ on a tuner to get some pipes which will be next. Still running stock pipes for now. The difference is so good I actually debated not replacing the pipes! But these things work! They work great! If you’re just doing a stage 1 save yourself the $$ on an expensive tuner and get these instead. They are amazing! Thank you DK Customs!
Thanks for the clear and concise explanation of the products. Small correction; the SERT (32109-08B)and SEPT’s (32109-08A) are not EPA compliant (hence the court case), however the SEST’s 4100000C (2007-2020) and 41001141 (2021-2024) are EPA compliant.
Yes, the newer SE Tuner is EPA compliant. Here's a video on the subject with a Harley-Davidson Store Manager- ruclips.net/video/wQ6EzilYjiI/видео.html The nice thing is that you can use the the X/ViED on them with the EPA compliant tuner on OEM and Stage I bikes. Thanks for commenting! MB
Great info.. I installed xied on '17 softail bc I didn't want to have to buy a tuner. Cut end off pipes and removed guts and with these products installed it was vey good. Excellent products. I'm still running their air cleaner'

They will improve your low and mid range power even more. www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-258-model-family-dk-tti-258.htm
I bought one of your xied units. I like it but I should have gotten the vied because I also have the 606 air cleaner. As you know this will add to the lean condition of the bike. I was unaware how much until I started to ride more as the weather got warmer (Canada). I also have a set of S&S pipes on my bike as well (2008 Road Glide). The xied and the stage 1 components work well together, but I wish I had bought the variable enrichment device as the bike is still a bit too lean (and hot) for my liking. Great video gents!
Glad you are enjoying, and we appreciate your business. With the XIED you should be down around 13.8, even with your mods. Warm weather always is a bugaboo with the EFI Harleys. Yes. It will take some riding without the ViED's installed, but the ECM is constantly updating the adaptive fuel tables, and running it for 50-100 miles without them will change the adaptive fuel tables (aka LTFT for Long Term Fuel Trim) to coincide with the non-ViED closed loop feedback. Here is a good video on how the ECM works and adapts, the LTFT is specifically addressed, starting at the 13:45 mark, but the entire video is worth watching. ruclips.net/video/0vbTkRvFa80/видео.html
This is remarkable! Almost too good to be true! I just ordered the 587 and the vied for my new sportster that’s still under warranty. Can’t wait. So glad I found your channel before I spent $1500+ on a SE stage 1 that the service guy admitted to me wouldn’t do anything noticeable for my performance. Thanks guys!

Another awesome video, looks like my next purchase will be the VIED, only questions are, how much does it cost, and how do you make adjustments or they automatic ? In advance Thank you guys !!!
The XiED is not variable so you can not change it. The ViED does have variables and can be adjusted. You would use a Jeweler’s screwdriver to make adjustments to the VIED, there is a small screw in the center of the device that you will turn. I saw these installed on a Sportster that was having electrical issues... the guy diagnosing the demons was scratching his head as to what they were. LOL
D&K, can you be more specific of "when" the system switched from closed loop to open loop? is it based on throttle position or engine speed? I dont particularly run my bike at low RPM's (i dont lug my bike around at slow engine speeds other than slow maneuvers). I do most of my riding arund 3200-4200 RPM, but on the highway (my daily commute includes 10 miles of interstate riding) I normally cruise at 90-100 mph on 6th gear. Would someone that rides this way still benefit from a VIED? or is the VIED only works for closed loop mode? I am riding an '07 FXSTC TC96, curently has slip-ons, Crankcase breather, and VIED set to 50% Thank you again for te amazing products.
There is a video linked below that goes into good detail on how the ECM works, and the differences between closed and open loop. Yes, everything that happens in closed loop (partly because of the VIED) affects what happens in open loop. So you are getting open loop benefit from your ViED's. When watching the video linked below, you will see there are MANY variables that the ECM is reading that will switch the bike from open to closed and closed to open. The main things are throttle position and load. 3500 rpm with light throttle can be in closed loop. 3500 with a load (requiring more throttle) is likely open loop. ruclips.net/video/0vbTkRvFa80/видео.html
I have pipes being built for my 2021 48 by Kinetic, They are basically drag pipes with no ballfes. I have a screaming eagle intake. With the VIED work for me? Local shop says I have to get a dyna tune. $$$. Can you please help. Thank you
I am sorry I did miss-read the comment! We do have the XL-VIED that will work with your bike. You can see it at this link - www.dkcustomproducts.com/xl-vied-fuel-enrichment-harley-efi-plug-n-play-2014-up-sportster-dk-xlvied-14-nr.htm You should be aware that on 2018 and up Sportsters they function just as well, increasing the fuel for better running, less lean condition. But they do throw a CEL and some codes. This does not impair the function at all, but it is annoying that the CEL is lit and the codes are logged. @@DKCustomProducts ….I only just have the stock cam but the header pipes the exhaust slip on’s and the air filter I got after market plus I’m still under warranty since it’s still new .
I have a few questions. If installed on a 2007 heritage Softail with a 96B engine. Would there be any improvement in off idle torque? Would it hurt the fuel economy? The bike is pure stock. The bike is not ridden hard. In fact it has never been at wide open throttle. The bike has less than 7500 miles on it.
Yes, there will absolutely be an improvement in off idle torque. The early years of the EFI Twin Cam (2007 was the first across the board) were particularly prone to hesitation and weak off idle acceleration. These shine the most in the department. These actually improve MPG, because the engine is running more efficiently at the proper AFR. HOWEVER, that improvement is seen ONLY if you ride the same as you do now. Almost everyone likes the extra power, so they play with it...twisting the throttle a bit more than they used to. This will result in a reduction of MPG.
I just bought the 828 high flow with catch can for my 2021 tri glide , it currently has the screaming Eagle tuner , was thinking about power vision or V & H FP 3 tuner , not sure the best way to go , other than stage 1 with bassani head pipes and 4 inch V & H
The FP3 is not available for the 2021's yet. Latest word is that they will be ready in December. I prefer the Power Vision anyway, and it is now available for the 2021's. They are more robust than the FP3. www.dkcustomproducts.com/dynojet-power-vision-flash-tuner-w-auto-tune-dk-pv-cmp-pkg.htm Make sure to put some TTI's in the V&H muffs in order to get max performance out of them.
But if you install this on a new Street Glide can it be identified by the ECU when Harley dealership hooks it up to their computer like a non Harley tuner would and be TAGGED?
You can't install this on a new Street Glide, they are only made for Street Glides thru the year 2016. And, no, on a 2016 and earlier the ECM, nor the dealership computer, can tell that it is there. Here is a video you may find interesting about ECM's, how they work, how they adapt. ruclips.net/video/0vbTkRvFa80/видео.html
Good informational vid. I have a 2006 Dyna Wide Glide. I noticed when doing my research on the ViED, and looking at the install instructions, that for 2007-17 Dynas it recommends 75% (13.8:1) as the max, but for the ‘06 it recommends a max of 12% (14.3:1). Why is this? Also, would it be dangerous if I kicked it up to maybe 25% (14.2:1) on the 2006? Is there maybe an exact setting you guys have found that works well for this particular bike? I have a Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1, stock headers with Python slip-ons (standard baffles), and a stock ECM tune. I just ordered the ViED, so I’d appreciate some insight on this.
In 2007 HD went much leaner on all the bikes, not just in the tune, but in valve overlap and other engine design, that is why the 2006 does not get as much extra fuel. Every bike is different........it will not damage your bike in anyway to go richer. There is no exact setting, The settings suggested in the instructions are simply starting point recommendations... Each bike is a bit different, each person rides a bit differently, and needs/desires are different with each person. @@DKCustomProducts Thanks for the insight. On the ‘06 Dyna the ViEDs aren’t required to be grounded correct? Do I just leave them dangling or wrap them in electrical tape or what?

I have a 2021 sporty with Vance and Hines big radius pipes Arlen ness big sucker and power vision stage 1 Tune which one would I get and would it be beneficial for my setup
It depends on what year your Tri Glide is and what year the dealer tuned it. In recent years dealerships have only been able to tune to EPA standards, prior to 2018 a Dealership could do a good tune.
I bought a 2013 road king with 103 twin cam that had a stage one on it with screamin eagle tuner last year. Haven’t changed anything since I bought it. Would I have to put the tune back to stock or could I just install your product on top of the tune that’s on it as is and go? I have no idea what the tune is like on it now. Flying blind I guess you could say
You can run these as you sit with the tune you have on it. You can also put it back to stock and run these. Either way you will see a good improvement. They operate dynamically, so you are good either way.
On a stock bike or a Stage I bike, these will get similar idea AFR as an FP3. If there are any mods to the bike beyond an air cleaner or free flowing exhaust, the FP3 will be better.
Gents, would you recommend one of these air/fuel mix products for a '18 107" M8 that is getting an S&S 456 cam upgrade? I am in the process of installing the cam package, but I do have a modified air cleaner. I have not invested in a tuner, as I was given to understand that it was a waste of $$ unless I increased displacement. My riding is mostly in town and short highway; what would you recommend? Thanks much!
Hi Charles, There are no X/ViED products made for the M8 engine. Even if there were, these products only richen the AFR. When changing a cam, a full tuner is needed, because there also needs to be changes made to timing. On an OEM or Stage I M8, no tune is needed, but any changes in cam, compression, displacement, these all need a full tuner, like a PV, which you can see at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/dynojet-power-vision-flash-tuner-w-auto-tune-dk-pv-cmp-pkg.htm
We do not know. It is being worked on, but it is still a long ways off, and because of the changes made to the ECM on these models, it could be that the price will be much closer to a Power Vision or an FP3. I would run one of those, you can see them at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/efi-tuners-c74-261.htm
How does the 60~90 minute thing work? It only needs to do it once, so does it just learn via small internal chip? and once the chip has a set reading it handles everything on it's own? How do these work? These seem more complex than I thought. Also when will 2018+ Softail VIED becoming out? It'll take a while probably right?
We have a video coming out in the next few weeks with an in depth look at how the ECM works and how these products work in concert with the Harley ECM. In the meantime, the 60-90 minute learning period is something that happens in the Harley ECM as a result of the info fed to it by the XIED/VIED products. All you have to do is plug them in. The IED's and ECM handle everything else on their own. Unfortunately it is months off on having these for the M8's.

If you are on a Sportster or Twin Cam and still running the OEM tune, yes. They are too lean from the factory and with the intake and slip ons, you are even leaner. These will fix that.
LOL, yeah, we have a guy who is working on it. We can talk about them, test them, install them, ship them, answer questions about them, but we do not design/engineer them. He is hard at it. Just got a progress report from him last week.
@@Wizzbane Unfortunately not. Even though it is not in the news as much, supply chain issues are just as bad, or worse, than they were a year ago. We, and other companies, are having a hard time just getting parts (chips being one of the items) for what we already make, let alone putting a new demand on limited supplies.
Whats your opinion on those coil packs that fit onto the spark plugs ? Therefore no need for leads ! www.holley.com/products/marine_and_powersports/motorcycle/motorcycle_ignition/motorcycle_ignition_coils/parts/140411BI
Good question. We looked at these pretty closely a while back. Twin Cam's from 07 and up have an ION Sensing System to prevent pinging (pre detonation) and for that to work it is important to have properly functioning spark plug wires (with the correct resistance). We could never get a straight answer from the coil pack Manufacturers whether the coil packs worked properly with the Harley Ion Sensing. For that reason, we never explored them further.

Will the changes made in the adaptive fuel table revert back to stock settings if the VIED is removed?

Great video guys! .. so if I get this for my 2010 sporty , I plug in and leave it on for good? Thanks In Advance.
Yes, it is constantly working in concert with the ECM, dynamically keeping your AFR in a much better range.

LOL
😂
D&K, can you be more specific of "when" the system switched from closed loop to open loop? is it based on throttle position or engine speed? I dont particularly run my bike at low RPM's (i dont lug my bike around at slow engine speeds other than slow maneuvers). I do most of my riding arund 3200-4200 RPM, but on the highway (my daily commute includes 10 miles of interstate riding) I normally cruise at 90-100 mph on 6th gear.
Would someone that rides this way still benefit from a VIED? or is the VIED only works for closed loop mode?
I am riding an '07 FXSTC TC96, curently has slip-ons, Crankcase breather, and VIED set to 50%
Thank you again for te amazing products.

You should be aware that on 2018 and up Sportsters they function just as well, increasing the fuel for better running, less lean condition. But they do throw a CEL and some codes. This does not impair the function at all, but it is annoying that the CEL is lit and the codes are logged.

Is either model more efficient than the other for completely stock with only high output filter?
Yes. It depends on what model and what year you have. Below is a chart that shows fitment. To know which is best for which bike, you would need to read the descriptions...or just let us know what bike you have and we can let you know which one is most efficient for that model and year.

2015 HD RGS, Stock (under HD warranty) except for some 4.5" Cobra Neighbor Haters/no baffle and still has the Cat.
Looking to get your Torque inserts (not sure how far in from the end of the pipe (NH) to put them/no hole from old baffle), and also looking to get your XIED as a combo.
I'm sure this may help my lean condition and not really a fan of the seat of your pants adjustments on the VIED so I think its best just to get the plug-n-play and and not worry about it.
No plans for cams at this point, maybe in the future and with the exhaust I have now, what DK air cleaner do you recommend in this configuration?
Also, what DK air cleaner backing plate to keep my OEM cover IF I wanted to (not sure about going with this but the information will help).

Hello at DK Customs.I hope you can help me with some info I Have a 2021 M8 softail Slim which has 4 o2 sensors (2 on the header pipes and 2 on the mufflers.) I have a few questions.
They are more robust than the FP3.
www.dkcustomproducts.com/dynojet-power-vision-flash-tuner-w-auto-tune-dk-pv-cmp-pkg.htm
Make sure to put some TTI's in the V&H muffs in order to get max performance out of them.
Here is a link for further information on the subject- www.dkcustomproducts.com/overview-of-efi-optionsxied-piggy-back-flash-tuners-dyno-ov-efi-opt.htm
@@DKCustomProducts Thanks for the insight. On the ‘06 Dyna the ViEDs aren’t required to be grounded correct? Do I just leave them dangling or wrap them in electrical tape or what?

I would say it is pretty easy. You can see the instructions for the ViED at this link and the last two pages are more about the variables - www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/wysiwyg/vied_new.pdf

I have a 2021 sporty with Vance and Hines big radius pipes Arlen ness big sucker and power vision stage 1 Tune which one would I get and would it be beneficial for my setup
You already have a Power Vision? If so, that is all you need, you do not need an XIED product. The Power Vision is a great tuner.
@@DKCustomProducts thanks so much yes I do have it
My Harley dealer tuned my Tri Glide to my stage I mods. Will a XIED still be of benefit to me?
It depends on what year your Tri Glide is and what year the dealer tuned it. In recent years dealerships have only been able to tune to EPA standards, prior to 2018 a Dealership could do a good tune.
are these available for M8s ?
Not yet, we are working on it, they should be before the end of the year.
Do these get a similar AFR as an FP3? Trying to stay on a budget, but if the FP3 is much better I’d be willing to spend the extra $. Thanks!
On a stock bike or a Stage I bike, these will get similar idea AFR as an FP3. If there are any mods to the bike beyond an air cleaner or free flowing exhaust, the FP3 will be better.
@@DKCustomProducts Appreciate it
Gents, would you recommend one of these air/fuel mix products for a '18 107" M8 that is getting an S&S 456 cam upgrade? I am in the process of installing the cam package, but I do have a modified air cleaner. I have not invested in a tuner, as I was given to understand that it was a waste of $$ unless I increased displacement. My riding is mostly in town and short highway; what would you recommend? Thanks much!
Hi Charles,
There are no X/ViED products made for the M8 engine.
@@DKCustomProducts OK! Im glad I asked; I'll go see what the link you sent has to say. Appreciate your help.
when will these be available for 2018 M8s
We do not know. It is being worked on, but it is still a long ways off, and because of the changes made to the ECM on these models, it could be that the price will be much closer to a Power Vision or an FP3.
I would run one of those, you can see them at this link-
