Your channel is perfect now that I’m focused on improving my Ollie’s and street skating. I learn something every time dude. 👍
🙌 Love that I can help however I can!!! Now that I finally have an indoor ramp and space to skate at the house, I hope to share more as I find tips. Hope the weather’s treating you well! Looking verryyyyy cold over that way. We're about to get 4-6" of pure snow 🫠
That’s such a great tip, opening or closing the hips in addition to the shoulders. I’m only just starting to use my hips more in my skating and it makes a big difference. 👊👍
Thanks! Been really geeking out over movements, positioning, and just overall how things work. Funny-when I was younger, I never gave it a thought, but now it’s like the key to unlocking new tricks and evolving current ones.
Great advise and smooth looking Fs and BS 180’s. Can relate to the end of the vid… 🤣
Hope your well 👊🏻
Thanks, Simon! Hope you're doing great and back to riding! I've got the last part of the video dialed in pretty solid by now 😂
@ 🤣 your absolutely smashing it!! (Tricks not falling that it)
I’ve not managed to get out and actually skate for 5 weeks but i feel almost ready and taking the plunge in the morning.
I kinda hyped myself up watching my ‘best of 24’ vid and remembered I used to skate 🤣 then seeing you flying around was the last straw!!! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
A tip for everyone that I've only heard on ONE video out of the many tutorials: You're not ollying into fakie, you're ollying into switch. That comes with a change of how you balance on your feet
Now for something I see you doing. For FS, you're looking where you're going to land. For BS, you're looking where you're taking off. So on FS, you're turning your head to spot the landing, and for BS, you're not turning your head ahead of your shoulders, so I think it's causing a lag in your turning (that and BS just feels weird turning to the blindside)
That's a super good tip and a great way to reframe, especially since we should be trying out switch 😎. For my looking and not looking, I've been really focusing on spotting the landing for both. This one is a struggle for me-sometimes I do it, sometimes I don’t. But you can definitely see the differences, even on landed ones, between when I’m spotting my landing and when I’m not.
Interesting thing-when I started doing them, I used to always look directly at the board. As I got more comfortable, I’ve been able to try and spot the landing. However, if I look at my board now, I don’t even come close to landing it. So strange how all of that works. Thanks for the feedback!!!
Looking good mate, love the ones to Fakie on the hip.
Thank you!!! Been loving the hips lately, super fun...as long as they aren't to steep 😂
It is crazy to me how much skateboarding is body positioning, thanks for the tips brother
Anytime, man-I'll keep sharing more useful stuff as I find it. So many different little positions and foot placements. That's why we always gotta try different ones until it clicks, ya know.
🤙🏼
FS18 such a nice feeling trick when you get them, I need to try on a hip next yours look 🔥!
Super rewarding trick. I used to be so good at them and could get them high. For some reason, this time around, I do way better with the BS ones. I've been loving the hip and bank to flat-it gives so much confidence. I think it's because you're essentially giving your ollie a boost. Highly recommend it! If not the hip, definitely try the bank to flat.
You gotta teach me how to backside 180 man. Mine are fucking AWFUL!!
Im down! Once the snow is all gone again and it's above 28 we definitely getting a session in!
Bs 180... I've never comfortably done one.. struggle every time. Can't wait for warm and dry
I don't know what happened, but for some reason, these just started to click. The FS ones are now my weak ones, which is strange since I had them good back in the day. I hear yea on the warm and dry, we're about to get 4 to 6" of snow, and it's been frigid. Finally making progress on getting basement area setup, thanks for the inspiration!!
@OldBrokenSkater nothing beats time on the board, helps bring it all together... I didn't front shove for years now they're on halfway lock
Been chasing the front shoves, love when you did them to 5050. It looks soooo steezy!
I find frontside 180 so awkward, some good tips here. I reckon you'll be adding a kickflip to those backside 180's soon dude! 🛹🤘👍
The frontside 180s are super awkward, which is strange since I could do them so crispy back when I was younger. Really, really want to add flips to these, but I gotta keep doing mobility-type exercises to bring my knees a bit higher. I’ve tried a few here and there and need like 2 more inches of height. Need those young knees again 😂
