As much as I want an OLED monitor, I can wait to get to the price/perf sweet spot. Already nice to see 1440p fast IPS/Mini-Led panels plummeting in price
Thank you for calling out the DP 2.1 issue I work in IT and would have likely gotten duped by that just due to not thinking about the looseness of the current spec!
Incredible stand, I would love to see more monitors have something so clean with a small footprint. I put all mine on arms anyway, but still. Glad to have gone with the PG27AQDP at this point, aside from the fact that it's was the first of this panel to be put out
Love to see just the full honest review. Always a GOATED video. I was on the fence on which monitor, but I think my ASUS 240hz OLED should hold me over for a few more years. 👍
It's great that the 24" mode runs at native resolution, I have a 360hz MSI OLED and it runs at the same 1440p resolution when you run the 24" modes... It just downscales the image, absolutely ridiculous.
Quick tip on Call of Duty: ( don’t limit ur fps from inside the game because it will end up giving u less fps keep it unlimited and if u want to cap it use Nvidia Control panel to cap the wanted fps before lunching the game
Dude, great review. 480hz oled makes me wish they had a black frame insertion mode. 5:43 This isn't always true. They are some monitor with 400hz+ refresh rate that do have BFI at that same rate. Not to mention some TVs like the LGC1 does have true BFI at the max 120hz/fps.
BFI sucks on OLED, due to limiting brightness even further (50% less) and it is almost pointless as OLED has instant motion response. Motion clarity is vastly better than LCD to begin with.
Fantastic review!!!! Thanks for doing this one so quickly and so thoroughly. I had high hopes for this monitor, but ultimately, it's a no-go for me. I'm still favoring the Asus PG32UCDM as my Black Friday target buy... if the deal is right. Keep up the great work!
I really wanted to try this..but after seeing all the negatives plus the matte screen Sony needs to get their act together..their Bravia tv's are amazing...Still love my modded 55 X930E with 0 issues since 2017 but these INZONE monitors have a long way to go...still sticking with the 27 LG GL-850 till next year's model...I'll watch and wait
Never mentioned in these monitor reviews, as fps is the only gaming genre to exist, but I bought the Asus one for rhythm games. Caps out at over 480fps easily, and oled being great for them, dsc is quite a large issue though.
Just bought the MSI 32" 4K 240hz monitor about 3 weeks ago...This thing is beautiful and insane! I'm good for years to come 👍🏽 2:49 - So that's what the cause is - THANKS 🙏🏽
Good review man, I just recently have started to prefer OLED after buying a Samsung G9 last year. The color difference is incredible! I wish this monitor had slightly more bang for your buck especially at that $1100 dollar mark. Compared to the less expensive options from other brands, it's hard to justify the price tag with that 1 year warranty like you stated
The explanation about DSC is *very useful information.* Combined with weak warranty coverage means this monitor is a no from me. I am looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings.
Loved the review, I am still on 1440p IPS 170hz and have been considering making the jump to OLED, heard good things about it, I do want to stay at 1440p would love to up to my FPS if possible so im likely going to buy the Asus monitor when I can.
The one point of display port 2.1 is to reduce how much dsc compression you're getting. With 1.4 you're now getting 3:1 at this level rather than the 2:1 people are used to with lower spec monitors. You're much more likely to be able to notice this even if it's still unlikely. With dp2.1 that drops to 2:1 again
jesus christ finally a reviewer giving some attention to BFI.... we need bright BFI solutions... motion resolution is why a lot of us fell in love with gaming back when we were on CRT
Oleds are not crazy bright to begin with outside of specular highlights and how BFI works you basically cut your perceived brightness in half so without much much brighter oleds you simply are not going to get brighter BFI solutions.
Excellent review. Talked through everything so well. I’ve ordered the PG32UCDM since I was disappointed in the aggressive AG coating of the PG32UCDP, it was too hazy/grainy for me to do any work on.. text on a white background was way worse than expected. Great review being upfront about DP 2.1. This OLED looks super clean, HDMI 2.1, great refresh rate, good nits but the price is a deal breaker for most people which includes me. @@eduardomartin8510I haven’t noticed any VRR flicker and I am pretty observant. I also don’t use HDR since I’m always in fps pro+ mode. I don’t get much lower than 240fps in any game, is there flicker at much lower FPS?

Have to give props for a clean looking bezel and stand. But this is obviously a different team that creates firmware compared to TV division. That tracking is horrible, but should be able to be fixed in an update, same with vrr flicker. Somebody in QA isn't doing their job, or they don't think anyone will notice and too lazy to fix.
