    As someone who owns this monitor I love it and it meets all of my needs perfectly. I only use it in 4K 240 and have only tried the 1080p480 to give it a shot. The 240hz OLED is still a HUGE leap from 144hz IPS MPRT.
    It should be noted that im a productivity/power user first and content consumption is a second. All my setup have at least 3 panels with one in vertical. Eventually this will be in a setup flanks by a pair of LG DualUp's which for creation are just about perfect. Currently its flanked by two PG278Q's which it just puts to shame.
    I really need to look further into the calibration stuff. If you could pass any info you have on that would be appreciated.

    The 360Hz FO27Q3 has the same fuzzy image issue as this LG 32GS95UE, and it's limited to 240hz with VRR in the 24'' mode. The ASUS PG27AQN 360Hz IPS doesn't have that fuzzy image issue since it runs at 2368x1332 instead of 1080p, but that mode has serious reliability issues. A lot of games like Fortnite, Apex, and Valorant don't work in that mode. Basically, this entire dual mode thing is a mess.

    • @hyperfuse7319
      @hyperfuse7319 Месяц назад

      yea it fit my use case as well and i purchased it. I work from home full time and i use the 4k 240hz for work and video content. i dont game on HDR games so HDR is only use if i wanna watch HDR youtube videos. Night time, i am a sweaty cs2 player. the 480hz fhd is really good. Yes FHD on desktop looks ugly but when in game in cs2, FHD looks really fine, no issues at all. I know some will say 32 inch is too big for competitive, but to me me, after a few hours, it does look ok and my eyes are accustomed. All i need to do was the centralise my Radar HUD to make it more centralise and 32inch or 24 inch does not matter since the radar is near central in my peripheral view, thats all that matters.
      The 480hz is really darn smooth. i just had to higher anti aliasing video settings and FHD cs2 looks sharp as well. no issues with any blur image.
      The only ugly mess is when u are in desktop. So for me, whenever i am in desktop, i flick back the switch to 4k, once i am going in the game, i flick it to 480hz FHD. Serves my purpose very very well! Loving it. I do own other QD oled monitors from Alienware before, namely the AW3423DWF ( used for a year) , changed to AW2725DF (360hz qd oled) but find 27 inch too small for productivity work. Changed to AW3225QF but my fps in cs2 takes a hit that i didnt like it. Now to the LG 32GS95ue and it really serve me well for game and for 4k work. :)
      The only downside is, if it was glossy, it will be way better. But i do like the easy maintenance of Matte. i can easily wipe away smudges.
      This monitor was like made for people like me who...play more on esports games yet still wanna use a single monitor for productivity work. If one is a AAA game player instead of esports, then you will be better off using the Alienware AW3225QF or the other QD oled 4k 240hz variants like MSI or Gigabyte since QD oled has a slight advantage in terms of color vibrance. Do note we can also higher the nvidia vibrance to make the matte 32GS95UE to have that same punchy colors of a QD oled.

    Man....I just love your videos so much. Your on screen presence is just amazing.

  • @Skylancer727
    @Skylancer727 6 месяцев назад +4

    I say you're crazy. The matte effects of every matte display I've ever seen are very obvious. Whenever you look at anything of a single sold color it looks like you have film grain on, and even without that effect it makes it look like your image is a piece of paper rather than look through a window.
    I remember when went to a training program for work I brought a $1500 gaming laptop with a matte display, and then realized the ones they supplied there had glossy displays. Even though mine was higher frame rate, brighter, and higher res, it just looked less clear to the eye than the displays on the cheap laptops. Really wish I had the choice more often.
    Even my brother's first question after I built his computer was "why does the screen look dirty?" Even him with a bad eye could immediately tell the difference.

    • @willwunsche6940
      @willwunsche6940 29 дней назад

      I wonder if different people focus on displays differently. For me I slightly prefer glossy displays because they make the display feel like it has a bit more depth and "3d-ness" on top of the contrast and clarity benefits. That said I tried out this monitor for a couple weeks and the semi-matte coating wasn't too bad versus other ones, the monitor weirdly looked more glossy when looking at it from a side angle

    Your conclusion is entirely valid with all the caveats, but I see it a little more simply. For me at least, this the perfect "best of both worlds" monitor where it's entirely valid as a competitive FPS monitor, and a HUGE step above any monitors focused solely on competitive FPS in content consumption, which I feel tends to be glossed over in reviews outside of HDR segments in video games. This is perfect monitor for someone who plays competitive FPS (and can push the frames) and wants something with better colors than a TN/IPS panel at a larger screen size and higher resolutions for when they're consuming video content. Especially if they would find it inconvenient or can't afford, either 2 high end monitors that are more purpose built, or deditcated gaming/productivity/home theater setups.

A friend had 27" 1080p monitor and it looked horrendous in many games, desktop is not even worth mentioning it, so pixelated. 24/25" 1080 in some games is too a bit low, for instance in warzone2 it is noticeable between an 27" 1440p and my 1080p 25" acer nitro v2, so 1080p at 32" would not be doable for me. But I am waiting for the 480hz oleds to arrive. Hat two 240hz 1440p woleds and it was too restrictive with 240hz in pretty much all fps games I play.
    But how was the dirty gray issues? my two woleds were so bad I could not use them as a computer monitor when windows dark mode was on.

    I notice a PWM flicker at 5:13 and it's even more pronounced at 480 Hz. has this been an issue using the monitor? because this can cause a lot of eyestrain.

    Your videos are just awesome, nicely information dense, and talks about the pro's and con's of every spec. I did have one question about the whole emulation modes on all the current monitors that support it. It seems these companies are somewhat brainless, or they just will not bite a certain bullet.. But if we don't personally care about how much of a resize occurs to the display image. Can't we run the native output resolution (and not use the nonsensical pixel scaling values they thought made sense for 27 and 24 inches), but instead simply go into Nvidia Control panel, set display scaling device to GPU (instead of the display), and then in the resolution option disable Scaling entirely. When I do this on current monitors, if I lower my resolution, my monitor uses only the pixels natively 1:1. Sure I get a smaller display viewing (with 4 sided black borders obviously), but it gets rid of having to care about integer scaling at all (as long as the resolution output is less than the native of my display).

    So basically it sounds like the Dual Mode is taking the 32" 1080P image and just shrinking it down to the designated area rather than actually rendering a 1080P image in the designated area using just the pixels a 24" or 27" would have. Whilst a cool idea that's kinda sad.

    have you tried setting a custom refresh rate in the nvidia control panel for your 360hz game ? ?

  • @klaidasrunele
    @klaidasrunele 6 месяцев назад

    Are you sure games don't benefit from a higher refresh rate monitor despite being a lower frame rate? I mean the panel is spending less time on the frame and should be able to clear it faster?

    • @badseedtech
      @badseedtech  6 месяцев назад +2

      No, Im not *sure*. Its an argument thats been going around in high-refresh circles. But based on my understanding of sample and hold, I personally feel like there IS a benefit bc each frame is spending less time on screen - even if the occasional frame has to be doubled. I actually said that in the Zowie video and people went nuts in the comments lil
      Its also why motion blur using strobing becomes less necessary at higher refresh.
      Like you can easily tell in a screenshot if its enabled or not, but when those frames are coming at me at like 400-500 per second, I cant even tell if dyac is on or not.

    • @klaidasrunele
      @klaidasrunele 6 месяцев назад

      @badseedtech Cool. If it is possible I think it would be useful if you make a video investigating this or at least comment on it further. AS with OLED displays I *think* I want to see BFI for smoother video, but If higher refresh rates can achieve the same effect or at least something comparible, it doesn't matter too much. I think this is important as we are seeing some BFI monitors but they half the refresh rate compared to it not on, so would be useful to know if BFI>Higher refresh rate or not.

    @BadSeen Tech 24" and 27" modes aren't good by design. You have only a certain amount of pixels, in this case at 32" it is 3840x2160 or 8.294.400 pixels.
    If you use 1080p at 32" it is a perfect 4:1 ratio, 4 pixels become 1. But once you use a smaller size of 24" or 27", that perfect ratio is gone, since pixels don't physically shift. You then get half pixels when the monitor is trying to cram 1,3 pixels into 4 for example, making edges blurry and such. That is also why you should not use 1440p on a 4k monitor.
    In short, it is not the monitors fault, but a physical limitation in ALL monitors except!!! CRTs.

  • @houssamalucad753

    Little question, can you play 24" mode at 1440p if your reduce the refresh rate to 240hz?
