- The Worst PSVR2 GT7 Exclusive Feature - It's Horrible! In this video we are looking at the PSVR2 exclusive replay feature in GT7. This is a special replay that can only be viewed on PSVR2 but is it any good? Will have a look at what it shows you and I will give me opinion on what I think about it. For this, we will be racing in Daily Race B at Laguna Seca in PSVR2. This is a GT4 car race and 5 laps.

What VR replay does quite well, is show the camber, and elevation of the tracks in a way you do not see from the on board view, or any other view, this is one sim that gives the player a real "track walk" view
The sense of speed is also different
It may not be perfect, but it's a feature I appreciate
nice take actually.
👍
Helicopter view would be awesome
iRacing has it, and there are a ton of other views too. It's actually awesome watching replays in VR there.
It probably won’t add much to gaming but I would rather sit in the car in VR during a pit then having the replay mode, I think it would add a little immersion seeing the crew chiefs moving around
iRacing does it. You actually have to drive down pit road and follow pit road speed. You need to drive it right into your pit box, and you see your pit crew do their thing. It's pretty cool.
How about sitting in stands, standing on bridges, helicopter.
Yup
I use the VR Replay. It's basic but what I do is get out of the sim rig and stand up. Same with VR Showroom. Much better experience. Feels like your there and you can walk around a bit if you have the space.
I don't see any double rear projection stuff though. Don't know what that is about.
Also, the tracks with fireworks are really cool in VR Replay. Worth a look.
Interesting, you don't see the double image of the cars. Especially if you move your head when they are driving by. It's very noticeable.
I think its a kind of distortion@@thecasualracinggamer
No I don't see it. I see motion blur which simulates what your eyes do in real life with fast moving objects but I don't recall seeing double.
Maybe I've watched 2 or 3 times a VR replay. And then stopped doing that. Sure VR needs a update
It sure does!
They definitely should be updating the psvr2 frequently, especially seeing that its more expensive than the ps5 they owe to player.
I want the same dynamic camera angles from the normal replay but in VR. Cannot be that hard 🤔
iRacing has so many awesome replay angles. All the flat screen ones are available in VR. You can get lost in just watching it.
crowd / grandstand view would be pretty cool........I agree needs an uplift.
iRacing offers all those views and lots more. It's very entertaining to just watch replays in VR. GT7s VR replay is just a lazy approach taken by PD.
You're right, this week's daily race is awesome. group 4 cars in Laguna works so well.
Yeah!
Love this Race B this week at Laguna and agree so much fun in group 4 cars. Have not used the VR replay, but I do record and save every race I an in to see what happened and what times I am running. Have been racing in TC 1 with weak TSB, and brake balance at 3 or 4 when I put on the larger rims. Will try no TC and switch to default on TSB. Would like to see in your races where you qualified with the time vs the other racers in the race. More info helps.😊
Sorry, I usually share that info, but the video wasn't really going to be about the race itself, although I ended up getting into that too. 😄
If they fix the issues, the VR Replay will be awesome. And the fly by position is the best angle!!
I do use it sometimes, it’s fun for 5 minutes and then I get tired as it’s too close, I’d love to step back a bit
Stand when using it. Makes it a tad better to be able to rotated 180. Feels just like a gimmic. Its a good speedy feeling watching it but it sure needs an upgrade.
Ive been loving Laguna Seca this week,. Top 3 every race, 3 pole positions, fastest lap & went up a class.
Oh nice!
I think Polyphony put all their effort into the racing experience which is fantastic especially in VR. The user interface and general experience no one loved and so it is terrible. Like constantly clicking back and forth to buy parts, configure the car, see all it’s stats and so on.
Yes, a lot of tedious clicking to get to things.
Doesn’t bother me. I take the headset off after the race if I want to watch the replay. Gives my eyes a break before another race.
It's more about why they have it there when it's so bad. LOL
@@thecasualracinggamer , I’ve watched a few and thought it was pretty cool.
I’m still in the novelty stage though 😂
Only just bought a sim rig and VR. I’m blown away by it. I played the original GT in my late teens, early twenties and then didn’t go back to trial mountain until I was in a cockpit in VR. Crazy shit 😂 Felt all nostalgic remembering the old days and how tech has moved on so much. Maybe I’m getting old but this shit is f’king awesome now!
I get what you mean though. They could have done better with little bits here and there 👍
I agree with you totally with the reply.
🙏
They should have at least put you in the corner worker stations for >some < reality..who the heck would be literally standing on the edge of the track. It was kinda cool to check it out once or twice but haven't looked at replay in forever now.
Yeah, here is a great view of a car coming right at you. 😄
they basically are simulating, being in the stands. while i prefer, the way driveclub did it letting you siting the pass seat etc. i guess it doesnt bother me, as it now a feature i used alot even when i played driveclub. i dont see a double image when i have done it, maybe some people are more sensitive to it.
Except you are not in the stands, your on the track. It would be better if you were actually in the stands.
The key takeaway is how we have seen zero updates to VR on the game that is at the top of many PSVR2 owners rankings of the best games. Having said that I dont think the VR replay is as terrible as you are presenting it. Its not great by any means and many of the comments and suggestions here would vastly improve it. But it does have value becaue it can provide the needed break that some users will require if they are new to the game and experiencing motion sickness. Knowing where you have just been teleported to and where to look comes with becoming more experienced with the tracks and the corners. But if you stand up and physically turn your body while watching at least 2 minutes of the replay, that will work wonders for those that are experiencing motion sickness. You can train your body to be less vulnerable to motion sickness and VR replay is one of the techniques that can assist with that.
Hmmm, I think the double image is terrible for someone who gets motion sick from VR. 😀
@@thecasualracinggamer As someone extremely sensitive to motion sickness, I was determined to overcome it in VR. What you're describing is similar to issues in VR porn when subjects get too close to the camera, creating a double image. This breaks immersion but doesn't cause severe nausea like motion sickness. Instead, it can actually help prevent motion sickness by reminding the brain you're not in this scene and you are standing still. Motion sickness occurs when your eyes, ears, and brain are tricked into believing you're moving more than you actually are. Having breaks between races and experiencing moments that break immersion can benefit those sensitive to motion sickness.
I work at the track often and what you see in VR is pretty accurate unfortunately.
I hope you don't stand on the track when they are racing. LOL
lol ngl lie, having been to a few races it does feel like that. i knew thats what they were going for when i saw it. i do think it should have the other views too though.
@@thecasualracinggamer I’ve lost count of how many fingers have touched cars ;)
looking for sth 😂😂😂
the body and cockpit size is much more disturbing in vr2.
you feel a bit like a 7 year old in toy land.
thx for vr2 amyways... awedome ❤❤❤❤❤❤
VR replay should be in-car. Select a car and watch other racers techniques and mistakes in VR.
Yup, would be great if you can see people's hot lap replays in VR cockpit view.
i never tried vr replay 😂
You ain't missing much. LOL
Its not even an obvious feature. I bet there's tonnes of VR users that dont even know it exists. definitely a feature they gave up on, but left there for whatever reason. It can be cool to view crashes though.
Yup. Seems very incomplete. Also, not being able to hear the engine sounds in the VR replay is a head scratcher that I forget to mention in the video.
I have same problem
Yeah the PSVR2 replay was a fail. They can just delete this from existence. Racing and showroom is the only thing we need VR
Yup, no point. It's unusable, especially with the double image on top of it.
I assumed the reason why the angles they put you at are so ridiculous and bad in VR replay is that they're trying to hide or mask how bad the reprojection is. If you analyze the angles they plop you into, it seems like they are trying to avoid having cars fly by you across the screen which would really show how bad the reprojection is. But the angles they put you in are like they're trying to break your neck by having you crane around backwards to see anything good. I agree it's pretty bad. The worst part about the VR implementation is there's no delta timer in time trials (edit, and no leader-boards in races), and there's no reason they can't do it except Kaz doing incomprehensible Kaz things just "because".
I hate it hahaha
😄
I never like this guys opinions, they're mostly unfounded.
Couldn't agree more! Although, now that I think about it. Isn't that what opinions are? 🤔

VR graphics are 💩, The technology is not there yet!!
I think we are finally at the lowest level of greatness and away from gimmick.
