You don't know much about Eddie if you think he would be happy for anyone lifting over 500kg. He LOVES being the only man to do it and gets real defensive when anyone brings up the possibility of someone doing 501kg. Especially when people bring up that Eddie wore a lifting suit
After Thor won WSM "to me the strongest man is the one who lifted the most off the ground"
When asked about the suit and Thor lifting raw "Thor probably worse lifting suspenders"

@@godMach1ne Open your eyes, 480kg raw! Eddie used a suit and figure 8 straps, was an awesome lift but looked like he almost died doing it. Looked like Thor had more in the tank, he wasn't bleeding through his eyes or nose nor was he laying on the floor half conscious. I believe soon the only thing legendary about Eddie's lift is that he was the first to do it.

@bigdaddyharlow Hall's heaviest lift without a suit on the elephant bar was 465. A suit makes a big difference, in all the classic powerlifting events, i.e. deadlift, squats and the bench press. Additionally, Hall has trained for powerlifting most of his career, Hafthor has not even trained six months total for powerlifting but has almost broken the powerlifting total for squats, deadlift, and bench press in his first event. Hall almost died due to his being morbidly obese and especially after pulling the 500. Hafthor on the other hand looks healthy and strong still. I have no problem with Hall. What he did was great. But what Hafthor is bringing to the sport is also fantastic. Unfortunately Hall retired after his first strong man win, which is disappointing. Would have been great to see the increased competition, but I don't think Hall would have been able to keep up health-wise.
