We have far right media, and then we have centrist media as measured by Rupert Murdoch, which is basically just slightly less far right media.
We've got Michael West, check him out, he the best
Michael West, The Guardian Australia. Also The Conversation has some interesting articles, but Michelle Gratton usually repeats the governments talking points. TC today includes water injustice, plastic and albatross kills, city design and climate change etc. Wider range of topics and longer articles than the mainstream media. CSIRO blog is also worth looking at.
I mean the Illawarra Mercury is more Labor leaning but is usually unbiased.
In Australia, apart from friendlyjordies, there is The West Report and thejuicemedia. Those three are all the ones I know of.

I agree with you about a lot Jordies and man that entire show was stacked against Albo. And i also understand the need to boost positive messaging, foster unity and counter the Murdoch bullshit. But i am concerned by Labor's shift to the right, ditching most of their environmental policy to reach yobbos in mining towns. And would it kill them to pick a leader with even a little charisma. Neither side has done that probably since Hawke but surely someone in the Labor party can turn a phrase or give a rousing speech. I do not doubt Albo's credentials and if he gets in i'm sure he will be a fine prime minister i just wish he had a bit more stage presence.

I was an avid Q & A watcher when Tony Jones presented it. Sometimes he annoyed me, but is was enjoyable, stimulating and informative enough for me to keep watching. I found Jones was generally knowledgeable on the issues, witty, fair and respectful to panel and audience. After he left Q & A went downhill, and every time I watched it I found I got angry; bad for my health, so I stopped watching it a couple of years ago. On ABC I think Media Watch is still worth watching. It was a breath of fresh air to find fiendlyjordies, and through him thewestreport. I separately discovered thejuice media. I highly recommend The Juice Media. Their honest government ads are savage satire, and they've done some interesting interviews. Australia needs more of this kind of independent media.

I was one of the first 100 people to watch the re-upload of the Q&A episode recently with Jim Molan about the Australian bushfires. Molan was put on the spot while being asked about global warming saying that evidence and facts didn't matter in his opinion regarding the scientific consonance that global warming was impacting Australia, he couldn't be sure. Hamish Macdonald blocked the uproar from the crowd after his response and allowed/defended Molan for his right to ignore facts on a national tv show.
