A huge thank you to our patrons who continue to support satire in this country. You guys are truly amazing / friendlyjordies
As one of your oldest fans (I mean that literally, I'm 48) all I can say is keep up the great work. You know that there's something seriously wrong with Australian journalism when a young ex-male model with a few cheap wigs can provide a more insightful commentary on current affairs than most of the major news networks!!!
Jordie’s an ex-male? Now I get why he has so many wigs. Good stuff!

Pigs ass.. Koch is a shill, put there for maximum propaganda value...
That's why they hide him on Sunrise
He’s a complete fucking dick.
Unfortunately it's wrapped up in other garbage that makes up the rest of him...and those are the bits people remember most.
Lols this aged well. That uncomfortable feeling when you promised a surplus and delivered a recession. After years of criticizing the ALP for stimulating the economy during the GFC the LNP Muppets are stimulating the economy for no other reason than six years of economic mismanagement. Smh. 😂😂😂😂
Also the selective funding for marginal seats - absolutely brilliant hahaha
As an ex carl stefanovic fan, id like to personally thankyou for opening my eyes to the bald beauty that is kochie, how could i be so blind, listening to your podcast has turned my world on its head and after deep and thoughtful reflection ive realized that the Koch is indeed the saviour of our time.

@Jurassic Punk hardly mate, jordies is a labour voter and the recommendations put forth by the royal commision will most likely come into place when (not if) they come into power. My dad is a mortgage broker so it is an issue that I care about deeply.
Jurassic Punk what makes you think I haven’t got an understanding of the Royal Commission? What’s wrong with wanting more information? Or do you just think that every jordies fan eats up everything he has to say without doing any of their own research? As I said, this is an issue that affects my family, and as a jordies fan, I’d like to hear what he has to say on the issue.
Great work as always, so satisfying to see you call out politicians on their bs while also highlighting one of the few effective journalists still out there
Jordie, you're right on the money with infrastructure spending. I live in CQ, and we've conveniently had a lot more roadworks going on because ScoMo knows that CQ is basically 90% Labor voters and he wants to get in the good books.
Awesome man, really appreciate the research and hard work you put into these videos and making it funny to boot. Cheers

The whole country does. Our obsession with home speculation driven by debt and replacing real industries with financial services has led to massive underinvestment in almost all useful activities.

Wow actual content on morning TV, I'm impressed.
Not sure if you’re aware of the current state of affairs in the NT at the moment but it’d be really interesting to hear your thoughts on this 👍 Here in the NT it’s basically the twilight zone/ opposite land where a large portion of financial mismanagement can be attributed to the ALP (specifically under Gunner). Also I know you’ve commented briefly about the royal commission into youth detention in the NT (under the CLP), so you’re aware of some issues we face here. Re: youth detention I know you were trying to illustrate a point against the CLP at a federal level however the net effect of the popular opinions of those who don’t live in the NT as well as the royal commission outcomes have basically given a green light for underage criminals to run amok, especially since Gunners weak youth diversion program has been implemented, particularly in Darwin and Palmerston.I gather from most of your content that the NT doesn’t factor too much into your research so it would be interesting to hear what you find out from your side of things. Maybe even look into who donates to the NT ALP? Keep up the good work mate, love your videos 👍
Just wanted to mark this video as the origin of the iconic outro's current version
Newfound respect for Kochie... Still don't watch morning tv though
You just reminded me of a very lovely bit of pork barrelling, courtesy of the Minister for Youthful Grinning, Larry Anthony. Towards the end of his tenure as the Member for Richmond, he secured funding for a mobile men's shed that acted as a place for men to not only meet but also get info on medical + other community + government services, and to advocate for stuff such as anger management, being better partners + fathers, and so forth.
When Justine Elliott was elected as the Member for Richmond, that funding was cut posthaste.
[I am also reminded of how, whenever Nodding Nevvie woke up + got some State funding for Tweed Heads, Larry would take public credit + the opportunity for a photo opportunity + a free kick at Nev....]
"Avoided the recession" ... yep, now we have a housing bubble / affordability crisis, interest rates stuck at emergency stimulus levels, no wage growth, and almost the highest level of private debt in the world. We didn't avoid the recession, we've just delayed it.
Absolutely right , while all the Multi National Companies suck the country dry by paying little to no company tax.

Creating the opportunity for boat smugglers to operate.
@@barneyrubble9661 The conditions for the creation of opportunity for boat smugglers to operate is to literally own a coast and have money.
@@td23asus Yes and the Labor party created those conditions. Why did we get so many boats ?
@@barneyrubble9661 The Pink Batts scheme, as you're calling it, is investment into literal jobs (note that creating a scheme that will create jobs can be attributed to the government that creates it), at a time where the GFC was threatening high unemployment. The worst thing to do in a recession like that is to stop spending money. Labor went the opposite, and invested into housing projects, things that are always in demand, and serve as one of our economic indicators. The stimulus package was designed to boost consumer spending, which worked. The Insulation scheme was designed to boost investment spending, which worked.
As for boat smugglers, those created those conditions is the turmoil in the Middle East. People are being displaced because terrorist groups are running rife thanks to Western interference in the area. And guess which PM of Australia took us to Iraq and helped create THOSE conditions? I'll give you a hint: it was a PM that was turfed out of his own seat in 2007.
I actually have some respect for Kochie now. I always used to think he was so pedestrian when it came to politics.

are you a Port fan? what do you think of Koch and KT now in 2019? they did so much to revive our club and I personally love them for it, but I see a lot of discontent still, are they too accepting of mediocrity in your opinion? I personally hate the style of footy we play but they continue to back the coach rather staunchly.
@@OrchidEleven Yeah I am a port fan actually. Hard question but I think Koch is doing his part still but Kenny has this year to get into the finals or he's gone. We have some great young prospects especially in defense and I think that will give a good platform for success. Our main problem last year was forwardline entry, not having a dominating key forward and executing a gameplan that requires one. my prediction mediocrity once again but at least a finals campaign. is that enough? For Kens job probably. But yeah kochies still wheeling and dealing getting those sponsorships and helping expand the game into china, although the US would be a better market imo

Still feel robbed by labor and the greens for losing Kev, best pm we ever had.
except he was the first too fold and say sorry on our behalf for something we had nothing too do with, and then opened the flood gates for our taxes to evaporate faster then what they already did too something that they should never go too.
Gillard got alot things through parliament, something Rudd sort of didn't quite manage to do and yet we still gave her the boot because businesses didn't want to pay a tax that might have helped cut carbon a bit and was funding both an education package and the disability scheme - stuff our country REALLY NEEDS. When that tax fell through Sco Mo did what he could to prevent both those getting funding (the schools barely saw anything from the Gonski package) and the disability assistance is so difficult to obtain, many who require it either go without because they fail application repeatedly or don't bother as the extra money isn't enough to help pay for wheelchairs or facilities they require. Yeah.. As voters we kinda fucked that up for ourselves (especially when most these days throw their vote away to micro parties that offer them nothing in regards to running a country)
"voice that makes me think is my refrigerator running" I lost it there hahaha
Friendly Jordies... Do me a favour... Could you source... Please...... It takes me forever to find your sources.

Hi Friendlyjordies I recently turned 18 this year which means I will be voting soon. By watching your videos for the last year or so it seems like Labor have better policies and legislation. However before making my decision on who to vote for I would still like to do my own research. If you have any advice or tips on how I should go about this it would be much appreciated.
Searching terms in the news tab f google from trusted sources like the Conversation, Sydney Morning Herald etc. If you're at uni as well using your library database subscription to check out economic statistical predictions etc is brilliant, although a lot of it is public access re predictions by think tanks
Do a bunch of reading. Go to a public library (state library is probably best) or if you've got friends in uni get them to slip you a copy of the reader for a politics course. That should point you in the direction of some decent material. If you use social media you can join groups for each political party, look at the things they say about each other, and the things they say they will do for the country, then compare what they say about each other, and to the public, with actual facts.
Liberal taking credit for natural trends in job growth is a good example used in the video, as is the general premise that they are 'fixing labors mess' when labor got us through the GFC.
If you're interested in looking at specific policies that MPs are for or against, take a look at They Vote For You. If you're looking for a broad representation of what each party votes for (remembering that some can go against what their party believes), you can pick a random MP or Senator from a party and look at the policies they support and oppose.
If you want to know the policies of a party, I'd look at their website, and try and pick out the stuff that isn't "THIS PARTY WANTS TO DO THIS". Particularly with smaller parties, they tend to have lists of policies they hold, so you can gather an idea of what they're about.
In general though in terms of majors, Labor are the worker's party, Liberals are the business party, and Nationals are the country party. Whether you believe these parties do their jobs is really something you have to come to yourself. But those are the aims of each party.
Being someone who sits still on the useless highway from Gold Coast to Brisbane each morning, that giant waterside isn’t such a bad idea.
Spoiler: Libs won

Labor and liberal are two sides of the same coin. The same thing is happening in most democracies. Also socialism doesn't work in the long run.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Scandinavian countries are not socialist. They are market economies with a social democracy on top. In many cases they have less regulation on the market than in Australia and on top of this most haven't participated in wealth destroying useless wars. Socialism is the workers owning the means of production.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Socialism is a watered down version of communism. Both systems do not support the right to private property and believe in collective ownership. On top of this both ideologies believe that a centralised power is needed for the transition to the end goal which always ends up with as you say a dictatorship.
As for Trump I rarely watch his speeches anymore. I admit I really thought he would be a better president than the last. For months now I've seen he has followed the same foreign policy of interventionism that every president follows. He's talking about takeing down the venezualen regime, he has bombed Syria, supported Israel's claim to Jerusalem, moved more troops into the middle east than Obama, supported a weapons deal to the Soudis. The Soudi Arabian government are some of the worst humans rights abusers in the modern day. Also CNN just reported that some us weapons shipped to the Soudis are now in the hands of Al qaeda.
