Those supposed low CFM guns aren't really that low as you've found. They're slightly lower than a Kiwami4 as an example...maybe 1 cfm lower or so, but they need extra pressure to atomize well and wind up creating more overspray than a regular transtech, RP, or compliant gun to the point they aren't as good as claimed. I have an older model R500 version. It's collecting dust. It's almost like an engine...there's no replacement for displacement.
Yea I see that. Man them guns have me fogged up in there. I be thinking dam this is what people want to use at home to do this on the side in their garage they're going to have some pissed off neighbors. Booth looks like a car came in with a blown head gasket 💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
@thetriggerman954 most don't realize what they can get away with on a regular gun that's simply turned down when using a residential style compressor, or just use a good detail gun on a really small compressor. LVLP on the super cheap level is almost a gimmick
@@bosshawg7427 agreed, I would say the lph 400 would be great for those guys. Operates at 20 psi and atomizes great plus no fog. It's a gem in my opinion
try a tekna prolite. then you will find a CFM hog is. that sucker takes some air. but sprays really nice. IMO not much nicer than the vevor though. It will spray a higher volume for production completes though.
I just make sure I spray enough base over it. Not really a big deal. If it's something really nice and I wasn't even less of an edge I'll use 3M transition tape.
What clear coat is hard like European cars? I got my car painted and the clear coat is so soft even after 6 months of letting the paint rest. A simple wipe with a microfiber cloth leaves marks

@@dollabillbrunson8107unfortunately, the R500 gets rebadged every so often and comes out as another hit, or miss as you see. At some point, it becomes time to just to step up to a better gun overall and skip the LVLP fantasy. In reality, it doesn't exist. You can turn a powerful gun down, but you can't turn a weaker gun up without some sacrifices (more overspray, wasted paint, uneven fan, etc). I've tried for years. If you want a gun that sips paint and air, you'll need something on the level of a LPH400 or a beefy detail gun (small jobs).

@dollabillbrunson8107 I'm definitely no pro. I'm the same as you, but I've found it more detrimental in choice of spray gun since a good exhaust in a homemade booth isn't easy and a lot of pro guns eat CFM like yesterday's lunch. The R500 is ok... just very slow. The EuroHE103 I've found to be a decent step up. It doesn't chew threw air and can lay down a wet coat pretty nice without exceeding 20psi. Overspray is quite low. I haven’t use my aeropro 610 yet. I’ve been using the tcp global guns with good results. So do you suggest making the 610 a primer gun? Lol…it looks too nice to use primer in it!
That's what I thought too lol but go ahead and try it. And let me know what you think. I can't really use it for painting professionally but it make work for some.
@@thetriggerman954 Not for nothing, I just found out that the tcp global guns are aeropro’s. TCP global are just hvlp, but the parts are aeropro. Smh
@@bosshawg7427 I'm not a professional, I'm a DMOC (Do my own car) type of guy. I guess imma play like roy Rogers and slooooww doown! If I get into the collision and restoration field, I will definitely step up.
I think I found it cheapest at JBTools.
I have this gun and it's great. You need to try that R500 LVLP gun. You won't be disappointed
I have videos on the R500 🥳
O ok love that gun. Another one that I have is the Cobalt SGY-AIR176NB. I painted my Silverado with that a week ago, and it layed down smoothly
@@carlosulmer8360 cobalt? Like the Lowe's brand? Or maybe that's kobalt with a K
thanks for your video's bought the 802 hade a problem with an air cap seal was compensated for it emailed rongpang maker of the gun they don't sell that seal separately , bought new air cap all the seals glands and springs for 30 dollars delivered in a week , hard to beat the price and service very happy , have a great day

As always top notch work!!! Spray on trig!!!

I need a mini gun, can you recommend one. Ty
My favorite is the Iwata lph 80 I have it in the 1.2 tip. Astro makes a few decent ones if you on a budget. I have a few SATA jet minis as well. And I have the Devilbiss Sri mini. But my personal fav is the Iwata it's a little over 2 cfm
That'll work. Ty
@@tedc9306 more than welcome 💪🏼
Lately I have been using a SprayIr gun. it is an R500 knock off and ,,for me at least it creates a lot less over spray...
Never heard of it. Gonna have to look that up
@@thetriggerman954 Actually it was a misspell, it is the SprayIt R500
@@douglasbird5246 ohh I've heard of that gun. I heard all positive things. I think UPK uses that gun too.
Trigger, are you using the HPLV version?? Thanks for these videos man. And you are correct, these youmg fellas are too soft. Too much influence to steer them that way.
Yea man guys painting cars wearing women's underwear 👙🩱 and yes brother it's an HVLP spray gun. Link should be In the description so you can read on it
You made Eastwood 1.3 air cap sell out everywhere bro. Waiting for the restock.😅
Man stop playing. Yea right. ?? 🤔
Top shelf, going to buy another one
Can't beat the price 🤷🏽♂️
Amazon $7999 it’s always been like that for a while ,Beautiful job love the videos ,funny
Cool, thanks brother 💪🏼
I bought the gun. It’s a nice machine but I feel like it puts out too much material compared to other guns
It does put out a lot. I spray it at 2.5 turns out. Just adjust the fluid knob that's what it's for.
Haha, you are wrong. There is a gun out there for$24.dlrs that had the gun body of an iwata, and a sata fluid tip design!
Geesh $24 does it spray ok? That's crazy 🤣
Opinion on 1k sealer?
I think 1K sealer is less effective as 2K sealer but at the same time 1k sealer is better than nothing at all. I have both in my booth they both serve their purposes. If you're not doing a show car or painting a paint job that you want to last for 35 years I think the 1k sealer is just fine.

Some of them other fools will just stick the upside down in lacquer thinner and let it sit. That's why they need a rebuild kit. I only clean the area that the product is going through. That area is made for solvent based materials. All the seals and everything else will have to be replaced if you introduce them to thinner. I have never had to buy a rebuild kit for any gun.
Amen brother. I've never bought one either. But I have soaked complete guns in gun stripper and nothing ever happens. You have to be pretty reckless to ruin a spray gun and need a rebuild kit.
The follow up videos are the best. I just order their 3 gun set. Pretty stoked about starting my paint journey
Thank you man. I'll be sure to include more follow up vids. Do you have this gun? Or just getting the 3 gun set? This one is a beast.

Nice triggerman
Looks good to me but i wouldn't get away in my workshop i, i would have to cut and buff . On my serious paint i use my Fuji guns which i keep clean . I've bought cheap chinese guns and there good but they always end up a primer gun . Great work Triggerman big respect boom boom
What would you have to cut and buff? This is more than acceptable for any insurance work, I've been on progressive direct, Geico ARX accounts is hardly any dirt no excessive orange peel. So what would you actually be wet sanding and buffing? Or does your shop just like to have glass show car finishes on every paint job? Like custom work? You probably have that car show look on every car. 😅 we do simple insurance work my man.
@@thetriggerman954 I work in a small 2cars workshop and do trade work week to week they accept what i produce . From time to time i get the odd Ferrari or Aston Martin in because off my reputation as a good painter (?) . I'm old school and try my best at every job and get frustrated when its not right.

@@bosshawg7427 shake your hand and kick you in the nuts at the same time 😂 I'm learning to love this RUclips thing.
It's not the gun, some colors are just to transparent, some transparent colors usually require a silly 6 to 7 coats to avoid that on primer spots.
Lol I know that 😅. It's part of an ongoing back and forth we had in the channel for a while. I know a spray gun doesn't determine base coverage.
