    If anyone painting at home is reading this.. go buy a hygrometer! I ran to Lowes to get a digital clock/hygrometer combo to stick in the booth after watching this. 😂 The temp inside the carport was definitely higher. Having a clock to keep up with flash times without pulling out your phone is handy as well. This is a must-have item and cheap.
    Thanks Trigga!

      @@sphdg man so many different things can cause that it would be hard to pin point without being there. Fried up on the base? Over old paint? Sealed it? Primed it? What I've seen the most is when the old paint has been sanded through and it's not primed or sealed. I have a new prepper and she sometimes sands through the old paint and leaves it. And I call her over to show her you have to prime this or it will wrinkle on me. We have can primer for little spots so that I don't have to seal it. And 98% of the time it works fine. I'm going to add that to my list right now. I have a list of videos ideas I have to make I'll definitely do it.

      If the color is actually darker then you may need a lighter alternate. So 3 opinions, #1 go with a lighter alternate, #2 drop a little silver into your base, or #3 turn up your pressure on the last coat of base. Hope that helps man. I cant even begin to say how I understand this. Guess that's how it is when you spray in warm climates. @thetriggerman954 yea man it's a drying system. The booth is open on the end too no doors. The down draft is so strong that I can paint 4 bumpers different colors next to each other. So basically when I lay a coat down there are 3 buttons with different drying times. So spray. Hit button. Clean my wet on wet gun. Come back hit it again. Dry. Drop coat. Wash guns. Slam clear and done. It's incredibly fast but you gotta be too lol. I'll send some footage thru this week.

    • @thetriggerman954
      @thetriggerman954  9 месяцев назад +1

      No stupid questions here my man. Everything is basically the same procedure just on a smaller scale. Are you asking about like a erally small repair? Even on the smallest jobs you still want to use a bigger tip 1.2 for those metallics. The small tips will give a slight difference in color. I think that's what you mean. Let me know if that's what you mean, if not give me more details and try to get a video up on it next week.

      @@thetriggerman954 thanks trigger . Yes a really small repair when using a 1.0 or 1.2 tip. When blending I tend to feather the trigger and puff it about, I presume that will be laying it down dry ? Giving a different appearance ?
      I colour matched a paint (Ford moondust silver on my vehicle, did the spray out card before starting any work, the sample looks really light compared to the paint on the vehicle . So I got some paint chips from a local paint shop to take a look at other shades, none seem to match. Wasn’t sure if my spray out card wasn’t sprayed wet enough for the metallics to sit right, giving it a lighter shade ?. Will clear coat darken the paint a little ? . Hope I’m making sense here, new to the game so I might sound like I’m taking bollocks .

      @@lockstocky2800 yea man when using a 1.0 or smaller it will always appear lighter you'd need at least a 1.2 and lower pressure if it's that small of a repair. And use a much slower reducer.

    Some waterborne silvers go dark if you put it wet on first round, except those that are meant for 1 pass visit like axalta. That's not the case with solvent i see 🤔

      So every silver is meant to spray a different way? Like each silver paint code has a certain wetness to spray with water base? 🤔 haven't heard that one before. Interesting 🤔

    • @Mika-zg7pq
      @Mika-zg7pq 10 месяцев назад

      @@thetriggerman954 I meant like example PPG if u put it really wet on first pass it certainly is darker. Glasurit 90 line is like solvent so that does not go dark if I put it really wet on first round. Waterbornes are certainly more complicated with light silvers,even pressure matters how dark or light it goes excluding few brands

      @@Mika-zg7pq yea pressure matters how dark and light with solvents as well. But ok I get what you're saying now. Yea man every paint manufacturer has their data sheets how how they want you to spray. My friends spray water base and the only thing I ever hear them complain about is the time it takes to dry / flash even with fans. So glad I haven't had to switch to that stuff.

      @@Mika-zg7pq so with the PPG let's say you put it on wet on your first coat... so even after a second and 3rd coat and drop coat that 1 coat of paint will change the color through all of the other 3 layers of paint over it? 🤔

    That said I think people are struggling with even passes. 3rdly nobody gonna understand painting until you do it. Research is important though and you’re helping people. You cover reality and that’s just as important as the arithmetic side of it all.
    Some paint reps are full of shit and some feel like they have to stick to their books and that’s fair I guess.
