Second round added a splash of slow reducer. Had med activator. Was hot. Needed slow. Final thoughts: I love the clean result. Love the base. Love the low overspray. I don't mind working the paint slower to get results. I need to try a different clear and slow activator. (0.8 tip as recommended) See if I can get less peel. But i'm used to the cut n buff routine. At my work we have ladders that have a little platform at the top and wheels. So you can push them around and then when you stand on them they lock down. Mine be worth getting a 4ft one for tall jobs
In most systems you can also just overreduce your clear coat and use as a wet bed. e.g. - 4oz of RTS clear, add 6-8oz of reducer. Now you have a nice wet bed.
@thetriggerman954 yes, but it is over reduced 150-200%, so it dries fast and has enough body for it to lock in that base. It looks and acts just like wet bed in the high dollar can.

Dam bro. You might have to chemical strip that off. It's a product I think it's made by clean strip called air craft stripper. Nasty stuff. Put it in the sun or put a heat lamp or heat gun on it for a while and see if that cures it.
Hmm id say hot in the both and the clear started to set up early
💯 💪🏼 yeahhh man 😭
Yes sir the match stick been there
Salute the veteran painter Mickey 🫡
Set to long or not mix right
Bingo 😂
Added activator twice?
Close as hell bro.
Video ain't over and still trying to figure it out 😂😂😂
Lmao no cheating SteelCity 🤪
Nice work
Thank you sir 💪🏼
Wrong reducer?!
😉
You need some Bootys Collins plate forms shoes you remember him 👍
Oh hellz yeah I remember him man he did have some wild shoes 😂😂👟👟
Yo TriggerMan, I'm watching this clip for the 1st time and my guess is that you weren't using the rt tip possibly? Nevertheless, I'm staying to the end to find out so don't repeat the mistake. Harlem Ray watching 4ever.
Close Harlem Ray 🤣
Some clears on them hot days will get thick on you quick
Yea man it's happened before but That's usually if I have leftover clear and attempt to use it on a job later
Accidentally put fast activator?too much accelerator?
💯🥳 close enough 😅
What's ur gun setting and tip?
You tell me. I said it in the video 🤦🏽♂️
Awesome 👍👍💲💲💲
Glad you enjoyed it 💪🏼
Reducer instead of activator??
I was wrong...
Close 😂...
You bet I know the old matchstick trick bro!
Salute 🫡 to the OG painter
I think your clear was drying on your cup 😂
Yep 💯
Do you guys have Black or white primer?
No only light and dark gray
@@thetriggerman954 your paint system is interesting I think I heard you say the wet bed doesn't need to be reduced that's crazy. Man they have matches at family D. If you guys don't have family Dinero store I'm sure your Piggly wiggly store has them. Such a shame you don't have the black or white sealer but doesn't seem to slow you down.
@@kr2513 Piggly wiggly? 🤣🤣🤣 Man you must be in Georgia? We don't have no Piggly wiggly down here. And yea I can get matches anywhere I was saying that not many people smoke with them like back in the day so they were all over the shop. I'm not going to buy none for a touchup brush lol. And yea man all I really need is a light or dark gray sealer. This paint covers so quick it's all good. Of course they would help achieve coverage even better but it's not law to use them. And yes my wet bed is right out of the can no reduction.
reducer to fast- temps to high
Basically yep. Jackpot 🎊🎰
You didn't put any reducer in the clear 😅omg
🤔
You know one time I put everything together in the clear, but didn’t mix it and start spraying manI got me a big old run!!!!!! man
Damn 😩 you forgot to stir it? 😮 Now that sucks 😅
@@thetriggerman954 yes sir I feel like an idiot
@@tonymartinez15949 don't, I've done much worse. I'm just not going to say it. 😅
💥👍🏼
The best touch up brush is take a cigarette butt, (which I hate!) anyhow, Peel the paper off and cut an 1/8 off with a razor blade, and Maaaaannnn, No BS, Those nasty ass things are only good for 1 thing, and that’s making a DAYUM GOOD TOUCH UP BRUSH…. Try it sometime!!!
A cigarette but what I'm the heck. Man I ain't never heard that one before 😂
@@thetriggerman954 No shish bro! My Pops showed me that years ago, and it does work damn good! Peel the paper off and cut the tip of it off, the filter part works good… Pro tip! Lol
@@tripleeathletics man I'm gonna try that shit, I'll snatch one from the body man 😂🤜🏼🤛🏼
@@thetriggerman954 lmk what you think! Things will soak up some damn paint too!
P.S. Get that damn PO Box Brotha!!! 😂

Thank you for watching 👍🏼
No reducer?
Yes all ProSpray. Primer too. Whole product
Ohh reducer in the clear? No reducer in the clear if that's what you meant
@@thetriggerman954 Yea, that’s where I was going with that.
Idk what refinishing product line you use, but if a reducer is needed to change viscosity, that’s what I was thinking. You changed guns and had the same issue going on. Am I close?
Keep up the awesome content Triggerman!! We’ll chat again soon bro!!
Before I watch the end ima say you was spraying clear basecoat instead of the actual clearcoat or maybe you mixed the two products together used the clear base with clearcoat hardner or something like that.
Edit oh damn I was wrong. Lol bro you ate after you mixed clear? Nah cant do that 😂 still looks good those are the guns I use too not the WS though the LPH I tried the WS went right back to LPH.
Yea man I fkd up I was in the office in the AC eating lunch with the owner. That AC had me mesmerized 🙈 and yea so as you see I have both but it's something about that LPH that I just love so it's my daily go to gun. Thank you for watching. 💪🏼👊🏼
@@thetriggerman954 enjoyed it. Yea I have two of the LPH400 they lay the best clear they arent fast which I think is a good thing I like taking a little extra time on the clear so I dont have to buff. I also been using the newer 3M gun for my sealers and solid base coats the gun is east to maintain and extremely light it also lays sealer very nice give it try.
@@brainwashingdetergent4128 the LPH is pretty fast in my opinion especially with the 1.4 but it is slower than the WS400. Then you must really think the DV1 is slow. I fall asleep painting with the DV1 and wake up and I'm still spraying 😭
@@thetriggerman954 😂 nah Ive only ever used the 1.3 I've had several people tell me to do 1.4 and its a lot faster. We might not have the same DV1 myn is silver and its the DV1 plus has a very wide pattern so to me its a hoser a lot faster than my LPH. Also I offten use the 1.4 in the DV1. I only ever spray base with it and clear with the Iwata. I have an orange tip LPH for sealer and a SATA 3000 for base or sealer depending on weather but mostly ive retired both of them from sealer duty in favor of the 3M gun which I also spray some base with it all solids I use the 3M. Nothing in the world sprays clear like those Iwatas tho so that right there tells me you a master painter.
@@brainwashingdetergent4128 ohhh you are talking about the DV1 base gun. Yes that's definitely a winner.I was referring to the clear gun with the ç1 and c2 caps. Those things are slow as hell lol.
You forgot to pray to the paint Gods before you started spraying.
🤠 for real because anything could happen. 🙏🏼
Yea that's me am 6"3 bro 😂😂😂
Lucky fucker 🍻🤓
No reducer
Lol I never use reducer In clear coat.
I think your air valve on the bottom of the gun was closed some
I wish 🤠
@@thetriggerman954 once you said the reason I immediately said to myself. Damn I've done that before too. The important thing is you caught it and took proper steps and procedures to correct it efficiently.
@@claytonparkhurst4328 dam you've done that too? Let clear sit in the gun to long before spraying it? 😲
@@thetriggerman954 not because I went to lunch but because I tried using left over clear from a previous job lol
@@claytonparkhurst4328 well yea I do that often that's normal shit for us in the trenches 🤠 just sucks when it's live on camera 😭
paint with dry wall stilts- ha haa
Yea I need something man. Go go gadget arms 🤪
Rookie mistake Trigger???????? UNSUBSCRIBE!!!!!!😂😂😂😂. Professionals make mistakes everyday B. We all human. Only thing perfect is the man upstairs. Another great video. Never thought bout using wet bed as a clear sealer👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. Blessings bro

4sho 4 life brother. It will be hard to beat those guns 😂
Glad you changed guns before doing the hood
Why is that? 🤔
Sorry to pick on ya but I've painted 50 plus years I can do that in my sleep you should start from the center of the hood to you plus a whole lot more rookie mistakes
No sir. Hot day if I start in the middle and work my way out by the time I come around the clear would be drying up. Maybe in a different state, climate, product that might work for you but not for me. And no offense to you trying to pick on me. That was last season. Have a great weekend 💪🏼🍻
I’ll tell you what’s wrong. You didn’t use the Vevor
You probably right. I had to take a break from the Vevor. Those death threats were getting real. 😲 They was trying to JFK ole Trigger over the glass out of that gun. 🥴
I think the nidel was dretey
Nope 🤪
Let's see, you mixed another batch and it sprayed ok? So you mixed the clear using wrong ratio? Something wrong with the mix since you had to mix another batch.
Edit: Trigger come on mang that's no rookie mistake, that's a trigger gotcha
