- In this video I use my Iwata LPH400 from beginning to end, I needed a gun that puts out very little overspray and that operates at a low PSI. The Iwata LPH400 is one of the few spray guns that operate at a very low PSI yet it's still puts out a very nice finish. whether it be a subtle orange peel that you are chasing or a flat glass finish that Iwata LPH400 is beyond capable of doing the job.

That's the Trigger Troll. He beats the trolls to the punch 😂
Thanks man 💪🏼
A coworker taught me to roll the tape like that. He said his grandfather taught him. They were doing it in the 50s supposedly. I bought dollartree tape to learn on. You're doing good things teaching the world that. Great video as usual.
Thank you bro. I appreciate it man. I really do 🫶🏼✊🏼
That's a great color on that Beemer and a great repair job too.
Thank you brother, I appreciate it. Yea that color was sexy 🔥🔥🤜🏼🤛🏼💪🏼

Love your videos!
Thanks brother. I'm glad you love the videos. I'm gonna keep em coming. 💪🏼🫡
Flawless.
Thank you Frank 💪🏼🥳
Im with you on that wet bed. I dont hardly ever do that. If you're getting a dry halo your pressure is too high or reducer too fast for the temp. You could maybe be flicking the blend too far away. See the paint hitting the car not your hand or the gun. I like that tape trick! Im definitely going to use that. Thanks man i always just back taped and rolled it. Been painting since 2000 and still learning things. I got one for you though. When you blend clear, try wetting the blend spot with blender before the clear goes on and then after. You can put it on even lighter and it will flow into the blender. Always invisible without buffing.
Hmm 🤔 blend clear I to the blender. I'm gonna have to try that on a test panel or a POS car. Sounds interesting 🤔 I'm gonna try it 😀 I'll have to come find you if it fucks up 😉
Nice job keep it up Triggerman keep the video's coming

GREAT JOB.

Good job! You are a great painter young brother !
Thank you sir, I appreciate that. 🙌🏼🫡
Magnificent work brother! Keep it up 👍🏼 😎
Thank you I will definitely keep them coming 🤜🏼🤛🏼 have a great weekend 🍻🥳
Some people dont recognise the brilliance of a good blend, and that was brilliant brother. Beautiful job in many ways.
Soft edge your own tape boys. One of our painters folds over the edge, sticks it to a panel and then walks it out while piching the edge at the roll. Works for them but i cant donit like that, over the knee for me 😉😎.
Great work my man, madenit look easy as.
Thank you man, I've seen painters fold over the edge 😭 I be looking at them like 👀🤦🏽♂️ thank you as always bro 🤙🏼
@TriggerMan droppin KNOWLEDGE 💯👌
Thanks BMF 💪🏼 hopefully someone picks up what I'm dropping 👊🏼
Yo I ain’t finna front I thought I use to wet that base, but boy you a beast boy!!! Love the content can’t stop watching always learning that’s how I see it ..
Thanks brother, yeah man In my opinion wet flat base gives you a better chance for an overall flatter less peely finish. As long as you know your materials you're good to go 😎🤜🏼🤛🏼
good job bud!!
Thank you BobVee I appreciate it man 🫡💪🏼

Thank you sir 💪🏼
Rollin tape by hand and learned how by the Gunman.
That's right man. No fancy tape machines needed 💪🏼
Sick video bro! A video on clearcoat texture matching would be badass! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man. Here's one about matching peel. But I will also do a more in depth vid on it. Thanks for watching. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

I actually bought few weeks ago that ez edger tape machine, best investment in long time. Now I use it everyday and on everything, doors, hoods I used like back masking and the line is perfect 👌 only 76€ here in Europe
Nice, I'm glad it's working for you 👍🏼 paint on brother 🤙🏼
Just bought this gun on 1.4 silver cap per your recommendations 👍🏼💯
You won't be sorry 😎🫡

We still fold back in my camp but may have found a new way. 👌🏽😎🏁🏁🏁
It all works, this way has absolutely no edge. Light polish and Zim zeema who got the keys to my Beema 🥳🫡
Trigger My wife laughed like hell when I watched the clip. I like the way you blend. Would one dare use a small touch up or low pressure gun for that job. Looks like you trigger your pressure. Good match.
Thanks brother lol what was the wife laughing at? 🤔 Which part? 😂 A touchup gun would be to small for this job maybe if you had a 1.2 mini like Sata jet or the Iwata LPH80 those guns put out a good amount and with low overspray. So if you choose the right mini gun it is possible.

I love hearing you say 2 turns out from closed. All these dang people saying to run it all the way out, is just crazy! I know those guys have to be using a TON of unnecessary material. A blend job like this would have those guys mixing a damn gallon of 1:1 base, and still run out… 😂
I’ve been running my guns anywhere from 2-2.5 turns out from closed since I started spraying & I always get good results!!! #TriggaForPresidentè
Some people just be talking. You could never run this gun full fluid. Maybe a 1.2 but not this 1.4 it would be like a water hose.
Great video! I heard you say 2 turns out on the fluid. For the fan do you always leave it full open or what are your settings on the fan for both base and clear?
Yes I pretty much leave the fan wide open. On both base and clear coat.
Excellent, work sir. How many turns out on the fan?
Thank you sir 🫡 Full fan on base and clear.
comment on the wet bed. i notice that trigger lays it down wet. 2 coats back to back not getting off the panel till he has coverage. i think thats why he has no need for the wet bed on most hard to spray colors. just my thoughts. trigger spray like a pro and has spit alot of honest good info. my opinion.
Thank you brother, I appreciate that. Just always keep in mind that the wet bed is intended for metallics to land and lay flat That's ideally what the wet bed is for metallics, some painters can use it to correct other issues they may have for instance... "Sand scratches" which happens when the vehicle isn't prepped properly, "sandpiling" which happens from incorrect application including incorrect temperature reducer for the job list goes on bro. People are using the wet bed as a safety net for improper spray techniques Will it help them Yes definitely, but it's best to learn the proper techniques. Thank you for your continued support.
Oh and on the side note bro I'm going to be completely 100% transparent with you prior to me starting this RUclips channel I never sprayed with the wet bed. I realize that most people on RUclips are trying to learn how to paint and it does help an inexperienced painter have a better finish. But again I've never used it until starting this RUclips channel. 💪🏼🫡
RUclips is hard on good people. Keep it trigger bro.
@@MichiGanjaMook tell me about it 😂😂
For what i paint im thinking on getting a Huepar 1.3 spray gun suggestions?
Never heard of it sounds like a fancy gun there. I'll have to look it up
What's your dry time on being able to buff on that clear generally? On say a medium activator....
Medium activator I can wet sand and buff after 4 hours, fast Abt 2 hours, slow next day. 👊🏼
Damn that paint covers great. I agree with you people on here way over use wet bed. Im currently using sikkens autowave. Never use a wet bed, dont really have any issues not using it either. But the paint coverage on blues and red is awful. Have to use coloured sealer (wet on wet in uk) and it still takes 3 very heavy wet coats to cover and on the job ill be allocated 1 hr to do a bumper + bends takes more like 2-3 hrs. 😅
Got damn bro 😭 coverage is that bad? Yeah that sucks, it's like every paint line has its pros and cons. I've used colored sealer in the past. 2-3 hours man I could spray an overall and still have time left 😂 sikkens has awesome clear. I miss those days lol. And yea these guys have gone wet bed crazy out here. They buy anything these channels sell them 🤷🏽♂️ thank you for watching 💪🏼👊🏼
I use the autowave right now and have sprayed ppg envirobase for a few years. Both have good and bad. Sikkens definitely needs the colored sealer. A work around i found, is use the colorbuild system to mix a color match primer. Spray an extra coat when priming and finish panel with 800. Get the body guy spraying color primer. Then u can go right to color and get coverage in 1.5 to 2 coats.
@@MichiGanjaMook now that is smart 🤓 get the bodyman spraying colored primer. I like your style bro. I would've never thought of that 😂
@@thetriggerman954 wouldn't know about sikkens good clear coats. We are forced to use aerodry no bake clear coat on everything other than large roofs and large hoods on those we have to use autoclear 2.0 which is really orange peely don't rate it at all. Apparently superior is amazing but they say it's too expensive. I'm fairly new to sikkens as I moved jobs so still getting used to the colour build primer. Used to use glasuirt and spies hecker both of which were unbelievably good in comparison. Sikkens just isn't even in the same ball park in my opinion.
@@joshzimmer I hear you bro, that's the thing we have to use the products that our employer provides. But being able to make it happen with any product without making excuses that's what makes us great 💪🏼
Like to see you do clearcoat with ws400 or lp400 iwatta
This video was lph400 I can do with ws400 for you
What grit did you use to sand ur base?
1,000 grit
Here for the algorithm 💪🏾
Thank you brother. I greatly appreciate it 🫡💪🏼
Triggerman, you need need to get yourself some lemon paper from Kovax for that base sanding. It will never gouge up that base from an edge of that wet sand paper. You can thank me later Iwata LPH's are legends!
All hail the king LPH 👑 🫡 I'll check out the sandpaper. I think my paint rep left me some sheets and I tossed them lol but I'll try them. Thanks Mcats 💪🏼
U add reducer to ur clear or no
No sir, NEVER!!
Man that little voice reminds me of Lil Ron Ron!😆
Man I had to Google that 😄 I see what you mean. Similar funny
Is the LPH-400 superior to the later WS-400 EVO ???
I can't really say it's superior. It's probably more user preference. I have both guns and I prefer the LPH400. less overspray operates at a lower pressure. So it works better for me.
Yooo. If I lay my base coat and it has orange peel, should I wet sand it now, out can I lay my clear and wet sand that? Or will the base texture show through
The base texture will show through. There will always be some texture in the base coat. You can fill them up with clear. I wouldn't try to wet sand orange peel from base. I mean technically you can. But that's a good amount of work. Get a UHS clear that should fill in any textured areas. 💪🏼
Preciate it!
Whats ur best gun for black single stage urethane for glass finish?
For me that's my SATA jet 5000 1.3 at 30psi on black single stage. But I mostly use my lph400 1.4 only because all of the over spray and my booth is old. But if none of that matters and you want glass all day... SATA jet 5000 1.3 at 30psi 💪🏼🥳
@@thetriggerman954 darn good pro info..thx 100%
Next video maybe how to color match
I’ve never seen somebody move that fast with an lph400.. have u tried the purple and orange cap too?
Yea I have those caps. I doubt really use them much. LPH400 moves for me. 1.4 I've been using it for 15 years as my daily gun so maybe that's why I can move faster with it.
how you drying in there trigger?

I did tried the soft edge on a masking tape but somehow I just didn't get it right. The soft edge on the tape is not straight. Guess I need to buy a box of tape to keep trying 😅
🤣 not a box lol but one sleeve of tape that's like 7 rolls or something. Man I guarantee halfway through it you will have it down. It's a small investment that will give you something you'll have for the rest of your life. 🙌🏼
@@thetriggerman954 yeah not sure man.
.i did tried with 3 rolls or something in years back. Just didn't work out. So after your video gets me to try it out again. This time I'll use more tape to train 😁. I feel like its kinda waste of money to use foam tape or jtape which im currently using for inner door edge mask. If i can get away with this soft edge tape masking i might be saving alot of money in long term.
@@ntonytay ohh you buy your own materials? Then yea you definitely need to get this down. I think that 3M foam is like $50 a box. We have some in the shop but one box lasts like 7 months lol

I don't even know why some of these fools want to use epoxy and sealer on every vehicle. Original paint is the best substrate to paint over. Nothing wrong with painting over 2K either. They still sell 1K but I wouldn't put paint over that if it was on a dog house. I ain't that old school!
Because they are still learning the trade. Some people that spray on RUclips actually learned from RUclips so they just do what they were taught. It took me a minute to realize why everyone on here was saying the same shit.
@@thetriggerman954 I just go with what I know works. I ain't into all that unnecessary stuff.
@thetriggerman954 I know, you know, that the biggest reason for sealing 2k is for the proper shade for the basecoat coverage and/or achieving proper overall color. Have you ever done a 4 stage Mazda machine gray, yet? They're a hoot, but I know if you haven't done one yet, you will handle it ease and it will be beautiful.
Bro, did you seriously touch your Basecoat, and NOT wipe it off?!?! Triggerman… You know you should’ve wiped that off with Lacquer thinner after the oils from your hand got on there!!! Smh man… 🙄😂
And I ate some greasy wings before I started painting. What was I thinking oh man silly me I'm so sorry I'll understand if you unsubscribe 😉
Fn playa haters!.. "Unsubscribe" 😂😂.. Hell yeah, Ive been doing micro blends from the start, i like to start learning with the hard stuff. Then everything else seems easy. Trig doing it right.
Thank you sir And you're absolutely right It's more difficult to pull off a small blend like that You have to be creative plus skillful what's easy is blending the entire panel but knowing how to pull off these blends when necessary is definitely a skill that not everyone has. 👊🏼
