    I'm suprised "Antz vs. A Bug's Life" wasn't here...
    The story goes that Antz (FKA "Ant Soldiers" during this time) was originally projected by 3 executives at Disney in 1986 and again a year later... When Eisner shot the project down in 1987, the executives involved left Disney, and in 1988 would form DreamWorks Studios in direct competition with Disney...
    DreamWorks then continued work on the now unnamed project, looking for help in the 3D animation department, when Disney came out with Toy Story in 1994... DreamWorks then dared Disney to come out with something similar to their unnamed project, and 4 years later, "A Bug's Life" was released, followed by "Antz" a mere 2 weeks later

Disney had created these films you can think of like Aladdin, The little mermaid, the lion king and such. Jeffery Katzenberg wanted to in the CEO position for Disney next to Michel Eisner. But it was unfortunate that in 1994 they lost Frank Welles who had died in a helicopter accident and this causes Michael to become The CEO of Walt Disney and Jeffrey Katzenberg was furious that his chance was lost and he left that same year to form DreamWorks
    In fact when Shrek was released in May 2001 the film was a roaring success that it knocked Michael Esiner right out of the mouse house in 2005

    “I hate talking fairytale animals”
    Cough. Disney does that a lot but even DreamWorks. I know none of their movies are based from fairytales but they do have talking animals as well

  • @MetalHeadReacts
    @MetalHeadReacts 10 месяцев назад +3

    You DO know that all the fairy tales Shrek makes fun of aren't Disney properties, right? Sure, Disney is famous for them, but those characters existed LONG before the Disney films... So you can hardly call them Disney IP's or that they're shots directly AT Disney, since they're making fun of the character from the fairy tale, which, again, was NOT created by Disney.

    We get it, Jeffery Katzenberg, the co-founder of DreamWorks! The Walt Disney Company never let you became their second in command as the president of Disney, it works perfectly in Shrek but making fun of that company much more is too much. Besides, after the president of Disney, Frank Wells, died in a helicopter crash, you were being an @$$hole, dude. You were asking for Frank’s job after he died.

    The whole criticism of Disney lately is based on one thing only.
    Tall Poppie Syndrome.
    People always like to knock the best, the brightest, the yardstick.
    In fact, if you are getting criticised, you are doing it right, not wrong, because people are just jealous of your success and want to see lesser companies be successful (until they are, then they get the criticism too).
    Losers hate to see a winner.
